Hyperdimension Neptunia - Game consoles personified

Got the LE of Mega Tagmension pre-ordered. If anyone else wants it, it's still up on the IF site right now.

I've noticed the similarities to Trails, but I play a ton of RPGs. That and other CH games are about it for similar games. I also never grind, but I'm used to underlevelled runs (I do so by default because fuck grinding).

I do agree that Trails of Cold Steel trounces Neptunia at its own combat system (Sky is about on par).

And yeah, unless you really want 100%, don't borher with those EXE dtives.

I have this feeling that now that the CPU gained a new form in Megadimension, the CPU candidates may have rendered obsolete by now

So in Rebirth 3, Youth Hearts are only available in that one area in Hyperdimension? I am screwed out of making that pattern now that I actually have the pattern?

So it probably is an SAO clone.

Even if they are (and they may not be - I don't know if it was that particular material, but I remember getting a Hyperdimension-exclusive material from Stella), the Hyperdimension opens up after the True Ending.

^^ Why am I thinking more and more that the 4 are going to get stuck in the MMO?

Well if it is a clone of Sword Art Online Hollow Fragment that wouldnt be too bad, at least it would get a decent translation with CH.

My personal dream game would be a new Dot Hack style game made by CC 2 with this. Nep going crazy LAR Ping and such.

Yeah I turned on the near instant stella plan to see if I could get them through zone 5 but apparently nope. Just need 3 to make White Pigments and complete all the pigments >.<

Yes, but it is the only one that's relevant right now, to be blunt.

I would prefer a Lost Song clone, to be honest. Hollow Fragment got too bogged down by simulating being in an MMO, Lost Song just dropped all pretense and made it dressing on okay gameplay.

Oh, and HF got a good translation... on PS 4. X_X

EDIT: Confirmed not Vert's game, original character as a protagonist, the four goddesses and their classes, yet another "can't log out from the MMO" plot, and Dengekiko and other makers will show up.

That Dengekiko is present makes it obvious that this is an SAO reference.

So Hyperdevotion Noire has released on Steam. Is it worth getting?

It's easily the best put together of the spin-offs that have come westward thus far.

Noire is a punching bag in her own game!!!! XD

Also, Neptune being almost ignored by the rest of the cast is so damn satisfiying, I should have expected them to behave like their Ultradimension counterparts, considering than they re even using Victory/Rebirth 3 costumes

How is it running?

That reminds me of another question. So Hyperdevotion uses an AU Ultradimension cast right? But is the Neptune here an AU Hyperdimension Nep or AU Ultradimension Nep?

Ultradimension Nep didn't exist as a full character when this was made, Its AU Hyperdimension Nep and she acts the part.

Really now that I think about it, aside from the costumes everyone might as well be an AU Hyperdimension, none of their Ultradimension quirks are used at all and Plutia and co are not even in the game.

They are jerks in every single Neptunia game...

They're all jerks in different ways in each game.

Plus, as in the original, the ones in Hyperdevotion are actual enemies to start with.

Also literally the opening scene is pretty much the same thing as the start of rebirth1/original just things go a little differently.

To answer this question

It is flat out my fav Neptunia game of the franchise, I have not played the PS 4 game though, the generals are all pretty much better than the Makers.

The only thing I do not know is if it is running well on Steam, I can not get it till tomorrow.

The biggest problem with Steam version is that it is locked at 30fps...oh and finding the LT/RT button is fucking nightmarish when I used the options menu until I figured out that mouse control is supported...

At last this one is SRPG, so 30fps isn't too much problem...if this was Neptunia U, though...

Good thing is that this is the first Neptunia game that shows keyboard control prompt in game even after remapping! No more ABXY prompt bullshit!

Oh, and I wish Sting is in the main game and not DLC character. Just love how she is channelling an extremely exaggerated (and ditzy) version of Yggdra (which is probably closer to her characterization in Gloria Union i think?)

Ok got the game, holy crap the game runs a LOT better than the rebirth games and a lot better than the Vita version.

Although I see a few bugs like the music looping isn't quite working correctly all the time, IIRC this bug was in the Vita version but patched out. The Steam overlay isnt quite working correctly as well but I bet that will get patched too.
