Can the horse-size duck fly while someone's riding it? Or can it at least float on water while ridden?

If so, I'd fight the horse swarm. If not, I'd fight the duck out of anger and disappointment.

Oh, we're supposed to fight them. Hm. I don't know if a group of underdeveloped horses are easier to fight than an overdeveloped duck. As far as I know the duck's bird skeleton would collapse under its owner's weight.

There's no way that a horse sized duck would be easier to fight than 100 duck sized horses.

A horse sized duck would be a really strong duck. It's strength would only scale up as it's body does (as the whole scale would go up, bones and all).

100 duck sized horses would be so much easier to fight. Not only can they not fly, but horses are actually really fragile creatures. Making them duck sized only makes them more vulnerable to your attacks, while preventing them from being able to do much to you due to their size and awful potential approach.

I'd fight the duck sized horses because they are smaller than me and I can kick them around. Just as God intended.

That's... not how physics works at all.

The bigger something is, the larger it's muscles need to be in relation to the rest of it to move efficiently. A gigantic duck with duck-proportion muscles would barely be able to move, while a duck-sized horse would be far stronger and agile than a full-sized one due to comically overdeveloped musculature for a creature that small.

Well, that's something that can create a lot of dissonance.

In my idea of the scaling, the duck/horses are scaled with their strength intact, as in a duck sized horse would be the strength of a normal horse to a human at that scale. Same with the duck.

The alternative idea is that they keep their actual muscle strength and density to when they're scaled, so the duck sized horses would have the strength of a normal horse.

Whichever idea you subscribe to completely changes the answer you'd choose.

You have to wave the Square-Cube law or questions like these become trivial.

As an object is scaled up proportionally by an amount, its volume increases proportional to the cube of the amount, while its surface area only increases proportional to the square of the amount.

That's the Square-Cube Law, put shortly, and it's kinda why scaling something up or down doesn't always work out, even if the scale is entirely proportional.

So you've got the physical laws as they exist, which really gives you a nonquestion, (I mean I'd imagine if you shrunk a horse down that small it would have serious problems, too, but I'm not an expert; the duck definitely wouldn't be able to fight, though) and then you have a magic handwave system, but there's not just the one way for the magic handwave to work; and that's why it's a silly question.

Unrelated. Seeing these "college grade" math problems make me understand why people say math is hard

so it really comes down to whether they're grown according to physical properties or magical properties.

Hah, yeah we can. I don't actually have any animosity towards you, it's just a sore subject. I come from a very Catholic family and society, and shaking off preconceived notions about a whole lot of stuff has been a big endeavor for me.

Yeah, I brought that game up a while back. They're so close to their goal, it looks great, and shovel knight and shantae will appear in it.
