Actually it's funny. Vriska insulting her dead self while her dead self is still dead and can't be very relevant anymore unless like Calliope shares her life ring...

And Lord English is still blowing through the dream bubbles, which means that she'll probably pop eventually.

I do feel sorry for (Vriska) even after all the jerky things she's done, and how it looks like Meenah's gotten bored of her...

I would not be surprised at all if Original Flavour Vriska straight up murders her successor and takes her place. It would be fitting, In a way.

Which is Original Flavour Vriska? The dead one? She doesn't really seem in any capacity to kill anymore. Unless Meenah dumps her and she takes her Roaring Rampage of Revenge out on living-Vriska.

That was kind of the joke. And yes, this whole sequence seems to be pushing her into regressing some of her chill. Or all of it really, depending on just how badly Meenah breaks her heart in the next part of the convo. Tbh it would make more sense from a narrative standpoint for the first alpha Vriska to make a return if only because she's had more screen time and positive character development invested into her than Alpha 2 Vriska. Otherwise she'd have vanished into obscurity along with Sollux or something.

I've never gotten Hussie's fixation on Vriska...as a character. I know he's attracted to allegedly overweight blue teenage aliens...

But I'm thinking it has something to do with how big a jerk he can make her and still get people to care about her. Getting all of her history to bite her back, and NOW getting her alternate present self to do the same.

But seriously, alive!Vriska is basically the biggest asshole. And it's kind of a huge piece of evidence about how she hasn'tgrown that she basically gives her alternate self a bunch of shit about how going off to fight Noir was a terrible idea even though she herself made that exact choice and only survived because John knocked her unconscious. It has absolutely nothing to do with her making a better choice and everything to do with somebody else bailing her out.

Also, I would be 100% up for Fishka offing Retcon!Vriska and taking her place. I don't think I can take more than one Vriska, and I'd rather have the remaining one be the least assholish one available.

Can I also point out the ultimate irony that is people, myself included, feeling like defending Vriska from Vriska and hating Vriska for bitching out Vriska? Because it's pretty funny.

Yes I left out the distinction from which is which though it's self-evident because it's part of the joke.

And honestly, I agree with Vriska on everything she said. She was being incredibly awful, but she was kinda right.

If it's any consolation, Bocaj, I don't have much of a defense. I'm taking both Vriska's claims with a grain of salt until further development, though, specifically about their growths as people and how happy or not they are. I do like live Vriska more than Fishka, though.

I highly doubt that Vriska was a bitch to Vriska for no reason, especially to the extent that she was. Vriska DID have a lot of development because she stayed alive afterall, and while Vriska was mean in the past, she was never THAT mean.

Besides, at the end of the day, it's probably going to make Vriska realize that Meenah doesn't like her anymore because Vriska became so soft. I feel awful for Vriska, but its better than living (dying?) a lie.

And it's just like Hussie to end an update on something like that too, stirring up conflict in homestuck fans. So Vriska was probably awful for a very good reason, and we'll have to wait to find out why.
