The new rival looks cute as a sort of Cowardly Lion archetype which I don't think we've gotten before (and honestly, I don't get the reverence for the "Jackass Rivals" of Green and Silver tbh).
Otherwise, yeah, not really seeing much appeal to more older fans outside of some neat features like following mons and bag box that I wouldn't mind seeing in the proper mainline games.
Plus the choppy health bars in the battles literally give my epileptic ass headaches so that's a thing.
I'm having to learn to pay the priceAre we ever going to get another rival that's actually a jerk that we would want to beat in a fight? That's one of the few things I unironically miss about the older games. It adds this personal element to the journey that games from gens 3 to now completely miss out on because they're just so friendly.
Heck, at least give us someone like Cheren or Hugh.
It's been 3000 years…Apparently in order to access the Pewter City gym you need a water or grass Pokemon.
Really bringing back that old school sense of adventure.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences. It's especially dumb considering Pikachu appears to learn Double Kick by level up now, so it could probably solo Brock's underleveled team if it wanted to, anyway.
Well, that definitely indicates that they're updating the encounter tables. Not surprising, since Pikachu/Eevee is a very different starting point than Bulbasaur/Charmander/Squirtle.
Otherwise, the first Grass-type you could get would be Paras in Mt Moon* , and as for Water you're either stuck with the gift Magikarp at Mt Moon* or you have to wait until you get a Good/Super Rod.

They showed in Oddish and a Butterfree in Viridian already, so they'll be different, yeah.
That reminds me, I wonder if they're going to go for the usual version exclusivity, considering Oddish was a version counterpart of Bellsprout. They probably will, but then again, they're also changing a lot of things with these games in order to make them more approachable, so who knows.
Oh yeah, if you send captured Pokémon to Oak, you will get candies what increase Pokémon's stats. So that is how you will be getting your EVs.
Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru! In other good news, Leaf is still alive. Nice to see that someone remembers her.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences. Is she going to be used?
In Smash, anyway.
Filler post: We're nearing Page 6666.
Growing up, it's like a civil war, don't turn away, it's something you can't ignore...Re Smash Ultimate:
As with several characters now, Pokemon Trainer has different genders as costumes, in this case Leaf. They're also back to being a single character with the three different mons, as opposed to Charizard being an individual character.
So, back to Triple Finish as the Final Smash?
Wake me up at your own risk.I think it'd be cool for three separate Final Smashes, but we'll have to see.
Also every character is back so all the other previously playable pokemon (Pikachu, Jigglypuff, Mewtwo, Pichu, Lucario, Greninja) are in it.
Plus new Pokemon coming out of Pokeballs. I remember seeing Solgaleo.
A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they will never sit in.Bewear, Alolan Vulpix, and Lunala, too.
And Spear Pillar is back as a stage, so guess Palkia won't be ruining our days as often.
And Saffron City is back as well. Joy!
So Charizard's would be Mega Charizard X. Would Squirtle's and Ivysaur's be Hydro Vortex and Bloom Doom?
It's been 3000 years…I'd use Hydro Cannon and Frenzy Plant.
Wake me up at your own risk.Squirtle and Ivysaur, not Blastoise and Venusaur.
For the record, transformation Final Smashes seem to be getting changed. Expect Charizard's and Lucario's to change; Pikachu's did, for the record.
They talk about a Pokemon for everyone
but if the games are so brain dead and simple I could actually see kids getting bored with it fast. There needs to be some kind of challenge, even if it's marginal.
