Pokémon General Thread

Everything in OU that carries a Rock type move would kill it dead even with a Charti Berry, with the exception of Choice Scarf Nihilego.

What item do you suggest?

Leftovers, Lum Berry, or a Z-Crystal.

x2 I think Choice Scarf Nihilego wins anyway because Volcarona can't do much back to it.

I've seen Passho Berry put on it as well as those other things listed.

My Bank membership is about to expire but I'm on weird internet which my 3DS can't seem to use Bank on. Do we have any idea how long pokemon last after your membership expires?

They remain in there indefinitely. You can get Pokemon out, you just can't put any more in or use the transfer thing.

I actually think they do get baleeted eventually, but only after like, a full year.

OU is (finally) suspect testing Pheromosa while Doubles OU is suspect testing Mega Kangaskhan because she can stick on any team pretty darn well. I'm not going to give any reason why Pheromosa is being suspect tested. I know, you know, we all know.

I'm not really sure about the coverage stuff. Its movepool is actually quite shallow; it's just that Pheromosa has the right tools to demolish stuff.

It gets Ice Beam for no discernible reason except to let it deal with Flying types that otherwise threaten it.

Theoretical Mega Swalot: the design is shamelessly stolen from Bogleech, basically, it's not a Mega for Swalot at all, but rather a Mega for a tiny insect that lives in Swalot's stomach, usually aiding in its digestive process, kind of like Mega Kangaskhan, except grosser and less heartwarming. This little bug, while Mega (it's still pretty little even while Mega Evolved), sporadically appears out of Swalot's mouth to fire at the opponent, but it only comes out when Swalot uses a Bug move. The Swalot's increased defensive stats are attributed to the Mega insect drastically increasing its digestive efficiency, making it healthier and more resilient, while the Swalot's increased Special Attack is attributed to the Mega bug increasing the acidity and toxicity of Swalot's stomach acid.

I liked Join Avenue's facilities. At least you could pay for services with regular money as well as upgrade said facilities through meritocracy. Festival Plaza just shoehorns needless socialization and time wasters.

Still, there's no reason to try to make it less excruciating for everyone. Share your facilities by putting your favorite at the top of the list!

Join Avenue was my jam. It was a really cool addition imo

Really liked Join Avenue too. Making it the main online feature of Sun and Moon ends up giving Join Avenue a bad rap as well as not explaining things as well as Join Avenue too and a few nerfs. Makes you wonder if they just couldn't have the always online feature of the PSS and added Festival Plaza as a last ditch effort to make up for having to meet in one area or something.

Probably the one good thing (or one of very few good things) about Festival Plaza is the ability to pick whichever facility you want to share with people, rather than it being pre-determined forever.

Except Festival Plaza doesn't tell you it's the first and Join Avenue allowed you to get a place from anyone who walks in for free (as well as giving you a bunch of people even if you didn't use online connections) meaning you could always just snag a place. That said the ability to buy higher leveled places at least means you can skip the leveling process if you can pony up the FC.

Also if you want to use Hyper Training legitimately at all, buy a 4-5 star (preferably 5) Rare Kitchen and put those on the top of the list. Your free time will thank you.

It's what I did. And sure, the game doesn't tell you because reasons, but at least the option exists. I have some friends who were unlucky enough to get that fashion store when berries could do just the same thing.

Eh true. It does make Festival Plaza usable at least and I don't think how easy it was to inflate your Join Avenue character count was intentional hence the nerfs related to that. The more people figure out the favorite stand thing, the easier it will be to actually find a good one which probably was the intention. As for the berries, picking them up as quick as I could was a thing since Emerald and I had to tell people the friendship parlor and places like that were pretty much wastes in comparison.
