No, it's a very faithful port.
In other words, the same bugs and crashes as the original game. LOL
Jonah FalconI love how the game got lower reviews than Sonic Unleashed.
EDIT: And the 360 version's score is exactly one point above Sonic 06, according to Metacritic.

Also, you need to pay DLC to have the extra features from the DX port. The Metal Sonic skin alone cost five bucks.

360 Gamertag: Electivirus. 3DS friend code: 5412-9983-8497. PSN ID: Electivirus. PM me if you add me on any.It has been a while since I've played before it came on XBLA (I actually played the PC port), but I don't recall it being so glitchy and the controls being so sucktastic. Either my nostalgia refuses to let me remember these things or this is a bad port.
I always thought that the Adventure games were generally thought of as good, quality titles. I recall enjoying both Adventure games, but I think Adventure 2 was better, personally. I don't know how good this port is, but since I still have the Gamecube remakes, buying this version seems pointless.
Also, in related news, Ryan and Jeff of Giant Bomb apparently think that the Adventure games suck (It begins at somewhere between 10:00 and 11:00). In all honesty, their complaints and attitude remind me of the Sonic Fan Dumb, oh so much.
Troper page Nothing interesting here, move along...Destructoid's review seems pretty fair.
It actually is pretty reasonable.
You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!It was exactly the same on the Dreamcast. As Arthur on Rebel FM noted, the incredible graphics at the time blinded people to how bad it was. (ie. Oooh, a killer whale chasing me!)
Jonah FalconEh, I'd rather wait until Sonic Colors is released; that game actually looks good. 'Sides, I already own the Gamecube port.
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.I don't think it was terrible, all things considered, but I still prefer Adventure 2. I don't know if the graphics in Adventure 1 have aged well, but the weird mouth moving thing sure looks...weird, in this day and age.
Troper page Nothing interesting here, move along...Something I've always wondered - why do people despise Sonic Unleashed because of the Werehog, but love Adventure 2 even though two-thirds of the game consists of dull mecha gunplay and "Hot...cold...warmer...colder..."?
Because the Nostalgia Filter effect is in play.
Is that why people didn't like Unleashed? I didn't like Sonic Unleashed because the story had almost nothing to do with Sonic at all, which is typical of Sonic games of late; they're feeling less like Sonic stories and more like stories that have Sonic in them.
If you can take Sonic and his supporting cast out of the story entirely and it would more or less remain unchanged, with the sole exception being you'd need to make a different character the protagonist, it's not a Sonic game. Sonic 2006 had the same problem.
But in any case...I wouldn't say Sonic Adventure was a bad game that distracted people with shiny graphics; I'd just say that standards for what constitutes a good game are more complex today than they were at the time.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.That it not have bugs like the camera being caught on objects?
Jonah FalconWhat about the actual game itself? There's more to it than the story.
I haven't played the game, but I assumed that most people loved the Daytime stages, but hated the Nighttime stages due to how it's slow paced and takes too long compared to Daytime.
Troper page Nothing interesting here, move along...The game itself ruled. I will agree with that. The Nighttime levels were NOT bad; they were different, but that doesn't make them bad.
The Daytime levels were "Oh holy crap this is so fast I can't believe how fast this is this is what 3-D Sonic SHOULD BE" pure awesome bliss. For the first time in the entire gaming history of the character, I genuinely believed that Sonic can break the sound barrier.
I'm telling you right now, give me a Sonic game with mechanics like the Daytime levels of Unleashed, give it a story that revolves around Sonic and his supporting cast instead of someone else's story that Sonic just happens to be present for, and I don't care what else you put in it, I will buy it RIGHT NOW.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.I'm gonna wait and see on that one. That Eggman seems to be getting a central focus as villain bodes well, but the rest of the plot seems dangerously close to "someone else's story, but with Sonic". Right now, it could go either way.
I think it depends on how much attention Sonic's supporting cast gets, vs. new characters we've never seen before and will never see again.
Edit: I just watched the official trailer. That Tails features in the advertising is a good sign.

Wizard Needs Food BadlyPardon my manners, but can you please elaborate on this?
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows. The Werehog just isn't fun to play as compared to playing as the Mechs or as the Treasure Hunters, I believe. The combat that the Werehog depends on is repetitive and hurts my fingers when I play the Wii Version of Unleashed with a Game Cube Controller. Treasure Hunting and Mechs sections in Sonic Adventure 2 are long, but they don't become tedious.
I will however admit one thing. Sonic's Daytime Levels in Unleashed are the best Sonic Levels in a 3D Sonic game with exception to the Sonic Rush Series. Sonic Colors having stuck to this formula and having had removed the Werehog is definitely on my to-buy list.

Wizard Needs Food BadlyThread is old and outdated, yes, but WATCH THIS VIDEO. RIGHT NOW.
Is it any good? Are there horrid crashes and other bad things?
