So I'm a season and a half behind, and I have little clue whats going on, but my brother convinced me to watch the musical episode with Calliope.....
I should probably be more offended, but it legitimately cracked me up.
The Winchesters may get everyone they love and care for killed, but at least they are hilarious when being mocked.
I don't think I've ever seen a series that rips on both itself and it's fandom so much.
One Strip! One Strip!Better hurry up, S11 started Wed.
(but yeah, in general I liked #200 - not thrilled there was an actual monster, but positive over all)
It hasn't been easy.
I just lost interest after Kevin died. Beyond this ep, and the one where they go to a will signing connected to Bobby (and a monster he spared) I haven't been watching eps for a while. I know about the whole Mark of Cain thing with Dean, but a lot of other stuff is beyond me.
Apparently from what little I saw of the recap for the last season both Charlie, and of all people, DEATH have been killed.
Maybe at some point, I'll get back into it, but for now, I'll likely stick to one or two eps on occasion.
One Strip! One Strip!Well what do you know, the DARKNESS 'did' take a conveniently stabbable human form.
Yeah, S10 is probably lighter on arc episodes more than any other season save for... S1 I think. There's pretty much only 5 you really need to watch. (3 if you skip some details...)
One other thing I have to ask about the ep:
What's with Chuck showing up? I mean, does that mean he's still watching over things? If so, why was he not trying to stop all the crazy stuff that went down since he disappeared?
A lot of bad shit has happened, and a lot of it could have been avoided if he'd done something more.
One Strip! One Strip! It's just pretty much a meta joke that they all have Kripke's approval.
I feel like they're making the point that "Ha ha the darkness is scary (but is it really?)" and that this whole 28 days later crap is unrelated.
So I'll be annoyed if it turns out "No, it's just the Darkness after all trololol."
Minor Quibble: "The Darkness" is a hot babe that's been locked away for apparently eons..... yet has a pretty modern hairstyle and dress. O..... kaaaaaay....
With all the memes about women choosing a bear over a man, Hollywood might wanna get on an 'East of the Sun and West of the Moon' adaptationI assume it's one of those "takes the form that is most comfortable to you" kind of things.
She allegedly predates existence, basically, so her having ANY hairstyle is silly.
Havin a human form is silly.
You lost!way to spoil Crowley's survival in the blurb.
dammit
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youBetween the "zombies" and the "We're connected Dean" it's like they just decided this would be season 5, but this time Lucifer is crushing on Dean.
To be fair, season 5 was the bestest.
What, better than season 2?
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youNever saw season 2, but since I'm a sucker for a meaningful conclusion, sure, we'll go with that.
season two was them hunting the yellow-eyed demon.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youYeah, I'll take the apocalypse over that any day :P
It was intensely personal though and the demon was a Xanatos Gambit master. It was awesome.
Plus those "BM" moments.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youNah, as entire package deals, S2 & 4 were the best, S5 is the baseline, S1 & 3 were the worst of Kripke's run (though S1 & 3 were still better than a lot of TV, keep in mind scores are relative to the series).
S5 had the apocalypse on paper, but some writing missteps kept it from being the true, outstanding finale it absolutely could have been.
It lacked.....
scale.
Nobody even fucking noticed it was going on.
come season seven and everyone still like "supernatural stuff doesn't exist lol"
like seriously. Apocalypse. giant war. End of days. Fire raining from skies. Beasts from hell.
in the middle of a barren field in Wisconsin.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youWell, okay, you got me there.
Yeah, I mean I know they had a TV budget and so couldn't really do the movie scale thing that such a plot would probably deserve, but they could have reinforced things better.
Like when Sam plays the witch in poker. Just one line of something like "Dude, I am not playing poker against Lucifer's vessel." They didn't need much, just little touches here and there emphasizing that shit IS real now and is affecting most everybody.
Well that and if the horsemen's rings really were meant to be the key, then they should have been configured differently. (actually fighting & defeating each horseman should have been like... 2 parters - at least with Pestilence we sort of got that as we had a sense of just "hunting" him down)

This season actually promises to be good! Crowley is back in the game as an independent player, Castiel is rogue from heaven again, the brothers don't spend every living moment together...
