Guess it's a good thing I never bought or used the KV-1S then, though nerfing it after all this time is bizarre. Peeps have already gotten used to its strengths and (considerable) weaknesses, so why bother?

[up]

Overperforming tanks tend to get the nerf-bat, especially when it shows that the vast majority of pubbies (75% or so of the population in other words) still manage to do massive damage in it.

The Hellcat however is a weird case, as it's the type of tank that only really REALLY good players can get the most out of it, and yet it also gets a lot of what made it so flexible nerfed out of it. I suppose many people were using it too much as a light tank hybrid.

I'm guessing the T-29 and KV-1 might be on the chopping nerf block soon then, cause they're pretty powerful and hard to kill for their tier.

I can't speak for the Churchill, but if the KV-1 was headed for a nerf, I'd fear for my T1, since I'm of the opinion that the T1 is a better tank, and thanks in large part to its mighty 90mm gun, the BDR is at least close to the equal of the KV-1.

The Churchill I is far too slow and lightly armored for a heavy to get nerfed, and the cannon is one far with the KV-1 so it's not that outstanding of a tank.

And the BDR 1 GB is just made of soft, fleshy weakspots, poor depression and no speed, so that ain't ever gonna see a nerf either, especially with the way the pubbies play it.

[up][up]KV-1 will be nerfed because it must be differentiated further from the KV-1S. You can't have the two of them just being different in armour and speed.

[up][up]And it makes up for that by having a BFG. That 90mm gun made up for a LOT of suck when I ground through the BDR.

[up]But that's all the difference that actually existed between the KV-1 and KV-1S. And that's a perfectly acceptable distinction - just look at the M4A3E2 Sherman "Jumbo" and the M4A3E8 Sherman "Easy Eight". They have the same guns with the exact same soft stats on those guns, but the Jumbo has excellent armor (especially the legendary mantlet on the stock turret) and iffy speed, while the Easy Eight has excellent mobility, but almost irrelevant armor.

The KV-1 might drop a bit of speed and agility - as is, it's surprisingly nippy for a lumbering Mighty Glacier heavy.

What's precedent ever done for us?

I wouldn't be entirely surprised there, but barring additional news, I'm going to assume that the KV-1 will remain unchanged.

Speaking of such things, I miss the (historical) 850 horsepower engine that the KV-3 had right when it was bumped to tier 7, before WG nerfed away something like 100 horsepower.

Uh, the difference between the KV-1 and the KV-1S isn't just like the difference between the E8 and the E2. It even gets 100 horsepower more. Unless they buff the KV-1 too (which makes no sense). The E8 and E2 comparison would only apply to the KV-1 if it's compared to the KV-220 in terms of "closeness".

I knew about the KV-1S nerf already, and... I'm actually happy. Its gun is way too good and every player with half a brain can compensate for its weaknesses.

The nerf is pointless though and won't really matter. Law of Diminishing "Returns" (in terms of a nerf obviously) apply. The difference between a 6-seconds reload and an 9-seconds reload would be significant. But the difference between 16-seconds and 19-seconds doesn't really matter any more, because starting at around 10 to 12 seconds the possibility of your opponent getting his second shot before yours greatly increases.

[up] The point actually seems more to be trying to steer people away from using the 122 at all on the KV-85 in favor of the 100mm, which has much more reasonable handling. By the sound of it, using the 122 on the KV-85 will be about as practical as using the 122 on the T-44.

[up]Because of how bad the 122's Ro F and accuracy already is, there's a very big gap for the 100 mm to "fit into" right now. Now with the wholesale nerf (i.e. including depression) the tank gets worse even with the 100 mm, no point in being the most accurate gun for it and having a slightly better Ro F when you're also hampered by the gun dep/ele.

[up] Eh, a 3 sec reload time increase on top of making its accuracy a whopping .5? Even with the current accuracy system, that's not a number to sneeze at, especially considering that I've been hearing rumblings that WG wants to dial back the 8.6 changes a bit.

The American T18 is getting nerfed soon guys. Don't know when, but because it's popular and succesful, it will be losing t least five hit point, a slight increase in reload times and a drop in accuracy...among other things. Also read somewhere that there might be a new module: transmission drives. When they will add it? I don't know when.

I knew of a player with ridiculous stats, with thousands of games in it(the T-18). It's certainly one of the "op tanks"

Today's Humiliation Conga: Getting steamrolled in my Tiger 3 by Tier 9s and 10s while my teams become Cannon Fodder as I use my 105 with the KT's turret to snipe the enemy. So far, I only got one victory out of 9 or so fights with it. I mean, I know how to survive to pick off the enemy with my 240-400 damage the gun and this has always been my playstyle with the tank and it works if my team does their jobs. For the record, what usually kills me is hits to the side of the hull, open-field maps, and hits to the turret. Glass Cannon. Personally, I wonder how many players had actually driven a stock E 75, let alone fight alongside one, because the teams think I'm fully upgraded, and expect me to lead the charge. Worst loss so far: 3-15

[up][up] Saw a screenshot of a guy's account who had 25,000 games in the Mini-Maus. I don't even know how you could possibly be having any fun at that point.

for some people they forget fun and just concentrate on stats and stuff, and start taking it way too seriously.

Personally anytime I grind like crazy for awhile I get sick of the game. I'm on a skyrim kick right now, but the same thing usually happens with the different games I play.

This happens to me all the time there is a statistic in a game. -_-

Also, the last two days were cursed. 31 games in my Jagdpanther. Only 6 victories and two ties. ;_;

H35 and its captured counterpart. They're infamous for their thick armor (for their tier) to the extent that they're almost entirely immune to their own guns (and almost all guns of tanks within the tier and many a tier up) without APCR ammo. Also, they're very slow.
