If we're talking about potential grimdark moments. I don't think they would go for it.
Now I'm thinking about Lysander doing a Better to Die than Be Killed moment would make the most sense. Which made me think of the Tintin episode where the Big Bad pulled out a pistol to shoot himself, it was switched out with a ink gun he used all along. Surprised the censors allowed that on TV back then.
But I still they won't go too dark.
It's Over Anakin, I have the high ground!I'd like to see Mega Gyarados go berserk and incapacitate Lysandre somehow for some more Book Ends goodness.
It's been 3000 years…Maybe they may try something dark...at least not on Urobushi levels.
The only good fanboy, is a redeemed fanboy. You know, I just realized something...
All this time, we were using the name Alain as the English name for our Mega Charizard X trainer (whose Japanese name is Alan) due to the first airing of the first Mega Evolution Special. But I've recently rewatched the first Mega Evolution Special and they clearly said Alan instead of Alain. This continues to the rest of the Mega Evolution Specials and likely the main anime series. Seems like Alain was like Scottie for Shouta before they went with Sawyer. We've been spelling Alan's English name all wrong (unless he's credited as Alain).
I'm pretty sure Alain is French or some shit. It's supposed to be pronounced "Alan".
Not the first Alain with confusion how his name is suppose to be spelled.
Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru!Isn't everyone from Kalos supposed to be French? I'm pretty sure Serena is based on what Game Freak thinks a French blonde girl looks like. Same for Bonnie/Clemont.
We've never had a main girl in the anime be blonde until Serena, largely because she's supposed to be the foreign blonde girl to Ash who is supposed to be Japanese. Dawn was probably the most Japanese looking of all the main girls due to her long straight dark hair, her outfit with the skirt, and her personality. May was probably designed to be the most white looking of the girls because she was the first new girl of the games/anime and had to appeal to westerners, so they made her a brunette and gave her a mature look for her age. Same reason Hilda has that western look in BW with the brunette hair and torn shorts because Unova is based on the U.S.

What do you mean blond? Serena's hair is brown.
It's either dark blonde or light brown depending on who you ask.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.Serena's hair is just a slightly darker shade of blonde than Bonnie/Clemont. Its not brown at all, compare her to May and you see the clear difference.
I mean you guys realize girls with dirty blonde hair exist in real life, right? Its not like all blonde girls have the same shade.
I believe in X and Y, Serena's default hair color is "honey".
Oh God! Natural light! In fairness there's a honey coloured girl in the Sun/Moon selectables (and boy don't the Amourshippers know it).

Its actually one of the reasons Mallow being the next girl companion is believeable, simply because she has green hair and each girl has had a different hair color so far.
Misty was orange/red, May a brunette, Dawn was blue, Iris was purple, and Serena a dirty blonde. Bonnie was light blonde.
Mallow has green hair and would confirm my suspicion that each girl is also specifically chosen for their different hair color so they don't look too much like a previous girl. Perhaps this is why Hilda wasn't used as a main character in BW and they used Iris instead, Hilda had brown hair just like May...so they didn't want another girl with the same hair color.
Nonsense. If that were the case, Hilda could have easily appeared given that her brunette is a lot darker than May's.
They look the same shade to me, especially if you were going to figure what an anime Hilda would look like and not her game design. May's hair in the games is slightly lighter than it is in the anime too.

Then they could have made the hair a lot darker. Otherwise, I'll be asking why Serena and Bonnie have blonde hair technically.
But the difference is Bonnie and Serena are on the cast at the same time, so the writers/animators likely decided to have Serena's hair darker because they didn't want 3 bright blonde's on the cast at once.
By the time BW started, May was already gone for 4 years, so even though Hilda was another brunette, they likely wouldn't want to have two brown haired girls on the cast. Is it not a coincidence we've had 5 main girls all with different hair colors? Or that Mallow has green hair and she's a potential candidate on the cast next arc?
I had a really weird dream about the Flare arc where Ash got brainwashed and pushed Serena out a window, and Meowth fought alongside Ash's Bulbasaur, Glalie, and a random Rattata for some reason.
The Protomen enhanced my life. That first part alone justifies the weirdness.
One Strip! One Strip!Shadao: Unfortunately, he is credited as "Alain", at least per Bulbapedia, who pride themselves on relibility in these matters. In fact, remembering that first special, he called himself "A-lan", whereas I render Alan as "Al-an". So we have an example of My Nayme Is Pronounced Tro-Pay.
Precita: Which means that there will only be 3 seasons left for the Anime after Sun & Moon: Pink, Black, and straight Blue. Alternately, if they choose Luna and make her a black-head, we'll have only Pink, Green, and Blue left.
Heck, Pink might already be taken by Jessie!
x4
You're reading into things too much. For one thing, I'm pretty sure Hilda wasn't used because her design is more "mature" than any previous girl rather than because of her hair color and for another Serena's hair color is ambiguous given that some people see it as brown while others see it as dirt blonde and it hasn't been confirmed either way.
Serena's hair is the color of chocolate milk in strong sunlight. :P
The Protomen enhanced my life.
Injuries that would cripple a Pokemon wouldn't necessarily cripple a trainer to the same degree, because the Pokemon has to be able to fight. Ash could suffer a permanent injury that does not significantly impede his ability to travel, but Greninja is unable to fight again.
