A variety of different reasons: I think he has the most interesting components - in that all of them have unique alternate modes while sharing a fairly unified colour scheme- I think he has an eye-catching but not overly garish or discordant colour scheme, and in fiction, I like how he's a giant super-scientist made up out of small, dysfunctional scientists.

Probably my second favourite combiner is Prowl-astator, but I don't think we'll ever get a toy of him.

People seem to be speculating that the golden disk on his left arm is Legends Cosmos repainted as Scrounge. Neat.

Boom TITAN Returns official pics.

Computron Mockup Looks neat, but i wish they'd gone with the Breakdown/Wheeljack mold

Predaking is the best combiner. Which is sad since Combiner Wars is all about repaints It means we'll likely not see him, as he requires original molds all around.

If they go the route of MMC, then all they really need are three different molds (Headstrong/Tantrum, Divebomb/Rampage, and Razorclaw) and they should be set. Abominous, on the other hand, maybe...

Yeah, but they can't reuse those molds 99 more times like they did Alpha Bravo!

Well, we're on to the big toy fair reveals, and Seibertron is temporarily down.

Astrotrain Artwork.

[up] Beast Wars Combiner. Original character, none of this Tripredicus stuff. Or maybe they could do Magnaboss with toolings from the Preds.

AB is one of my favorite CW molds. I have him and Blades. :D

As nice as the Alpha Bravo mold is, I'm thinking about getting the UW version of Vortex instead. Four blades FTW.

Good for you! It's really just a matter of personal taste.

While I think the Four Blades are neat, I don't really care for them on the AB mold, seeing as the tails position stops them from spinning. Even with that, UW Bruticus is still the best.

EDIT:

Toyfair's on get hyped

Transformers news @ Toy Fair 2016!

Personal Highlights:

  • Windblade's getting a Warrior (Deluxe) class figure in RID 2015 line. May or not be remold of Generations Windblade, but it looks pretty new.
  • The Voyager RID Grimlock from Takara is coming stateside via the Platinum Edition line! Yes! grin
  • Power Surge Optimus Prime! There's one that'll be a huge remold of the Warrior class OP and a bigger one that'll will have a bird mini-con that can interact with Optimus.
  • The RID comic book series from IDW will return this Fall.
  • Titans Return will have Chromedome! Head and robot mode are relatively IDW while the vehicle mode is G1 based.
  • Titans Return Mindwipe! And Blurr is looking very G1 based.
  • Speaking of Blurr, he and Scourge will have vehicle mode cannons or something like that.
  • FORTRESS MAXIMUS! Will have Cerebros and Spike (who's now called Emissary). Trypticon will be nearly as tall as Metroplex.

No word on Computron or Liokaiser or their plans for the 20th anniversary of Beast Wars though. This Troper speculates they'll save those guys for BotCon, which is both Combiner Wars and Beast Wars themed.

Windlbade's kinda meh. She looks RID, but if her heels keep collapsing like the original, then it's a pass. Though if I had an RID shelf, she'd fit in much better than her Takara toy.

Scorponok is an odd looking fellow, perhaps I'd like him more when he shows up in show. As is, I kinda wish they gave Filch or that Worm dude that sounds like Mandark a toy.

I distrust the Voyager Grimlock on Principle, FOC Grimlock was pretty damn disappointing.

The Headmasters look really good, Especially Mindwipe. That Wing transformation is awesome. Blurr also looks surprisingly good. Scourge... doesn't. I mean Vehicle mode looks decent, but that Head is not a good look on him.

Fort Max Looks awesome, expensive, but awesome.

Rumble/Rewind also look good. I'll still pick up the TAV Rumble/Frenzy though.

I like the platinum editions, but 80 bucks for three characters (two of whom share a mold) is outrageous, even with two of the heads being exclusives. They look good, so I'll wait for a sale.

I just realized something last night.

What if they did a new Sunstreaker figure and name his Head/Titanmaster O'nion as an homage to how Sunstreaker was a Headmaster in the IDW comics? (And it is during the typing of this post that I realize that removing the apostrophe in "O'Nion" spells out "onion." tongue)

I hope O'nion is never brought up again, as he is a perfect example of writers Hijacking a plot direction for a shittier purpose. After Furman that whole thing that Shane did was just so ugh...

Could be a decent Chromedome (and damn does he look so much like Dead-End) retool. Hunter told Verity he didn't want any Onion puns. Don't piss on his gravetongue

Super excited for this!

I like that they brought back some of the one-shot baddies from the last season (I see Groundpounder and Bisk in there).

Looks like Steeljaw is trying to win over some other Decepticons... interesting. My guess is that this season will involve a different Decepticon ship landing on the planet (perhaps involving the dragonfly lady/beetle guy), leading to some kind of Decepticon turf war?

Hello, new guy here! grin I am into G1 and beast wars, I'm pretty indifferent to the other continuities, not really a hardcore fan, you know?

Ya, I'm weird like that...

Favorite: Classics Optimus Prime or Ultra Primal.

Least favorite: probably CHUG Preceptor, not a bad figure per say, just a fiddle mess during transformation. And his feet do not do a good job of supporting him.

Ya, I'm weird like that...

Eh, sorry, not really. :(

I am looking forward to getting the original Headmasters in CHUG form this coming year though.

Well, I think it's fair to say that Combiner Wars taught me a lesson on not jumping on the bandwagon when it's so late in the game.

You can bet I'm gonna make a better effort to get in on the Titans Return sensation ASAP.

Looking forward to Chromedome, Rewind, Blaster, Powermaster Optimus Prime, Brainstorm and Astrotrain (the last two we haven't seen officially, but who cares? People know he's gonna be a thing anyway). Heck, I might even get Wheelie.

Although...I'm still wondering how the whole "plugging a head into a body and pulling it out" thing is gonna work. Should probably wait for video reviews...

Also, about that 3-pack featuring Cyclonus, Scourge, and a Sweep? Am I seriously the only one who's noticing that they finally fixed Cyclonus' left hand?

I noticed it too.

Now that I finished Defensor, I am officially done with CW, I got all the figures I wanted, Superion, Menasor and Defensor. BTW, anyone in the market for a bunch of IDW comics? They come with the figures and I don't read 'em. I am going to sell them off in a lot on eBay.

Ya, I'm weird like that...
