She is basically in the Osananajimi slot and first crush, it's kinda hard to let that kind of thing go.
The shift in focus though for the series and the fact that she was based off the writer's now ex-wife probably will nix the idea that she will win.
I don't think first crushes are that hard to get past in real life. I was a dorky and emotionally stunted as heck boy and I'd gotten over mine when I was like twelve.
I think that's the kind of thing anime just likes exaggerating that much.
So out of complete curiosity I started to read this manga. I must say, I'm kinda hooked. I must alos give credit to the writing because Yui managed to be one of the few tsundere characters that I actually like.
I've also just started on Darkness and they weren't kidding about the increased fanservice. How the hell did they manage to Mea's imagine point at the end of chapter 3 past the censors this early into the manga?!
Edit: I'm at chapter 7.5 of darkness and Momo, what are you doing?! Momo, stahp!

Yes, Arha, you missed a ton of chapters if that's the last one you read.
I'm watching the anime version of To Love-ru and I can see why the first season isn't that popular.
Good thing you read the manga. When you get to Motto To Love-Ru, you'll see that Celine's introduction is skipped. (And later seasons cut any and all flashbacks to the event.) Her only appearance before suddenly being in there as a baby girl is at the end of an OVA as a plant, IIRC, with nothing explaining.

That's a bit of a shame. While she played a relatively minor part before had her metamorphosis I still quite enjoyed her appearances.
As a side note, I do find it quite amusing that they called the second season of the anime "Motto To Love-ru" because it because it meant the anime gave us "Trouble" and "More Trouble". XD
Wasn't that the point of naming them that?
Check out my fanfiction!I still can't fathom why the first anime added a ton of crappy filler when, if they wanted filler, the manga already had a metric ton of way better filler to use.
Although I'm kind of fond of that Magical Kyoko TV episode.
The series is good overall when it focuses on specific characters, but they usually just go back to the regular harem antics after that if they appear at all.
Check out my fanfiction! Its old Xebec, that is literally what they did to shows at the time. Negima, Love Hina, Mao Chan, and such were other victims of it in addition to having the same crappy color direction.
It wasn't until like 2010 they started to put effort into adaptations, which also was the year Motto came out.

I'm not sure I understand what you thought I said.
Check out my fanfiction!Still reading Darkness. Hey! That doll Rito won for Lala back in the real early chapters of the original manga made a reappearance.
Edit: And I just finished reading the chapters where Darkness appears. I never thought I cheer for the act of groping but here we are. Rito channelling the Perverted Principle was quite the hilarious touch. XD

And I've now finished catching up on To Love-ru Darkness. The start of chapter 63 sure was something... XD
That's actually pretty cool. Nice find.
Have you managed to spot all the hidden vaginas?
My last count was about 8 with 4 of them being reflected off of Rito's pupil.

Sorry for the double post but I just saw a preview for chapter 75 of Darkness and I think Haruna just confessed her love to Rito. If that really does happen in the new chapter then we just might be entering the end game for the series.
Edit: On a unrelated note to what I posted above, I'm fairly certain that the website where I'm watching the anime of To Love-ru (AnimeLab) is broadcasting the uncensored version. I would be surprised but this isn't the first time AnimeLab/Madman has done this but it's still I find it a bit odd how they just kinda hosted the uncensored version online without any issues. XD

If it's not an official site, they probably use the DVD versions so, yeah.
Regarding your spoiler… huh. Well if Yami confessed, Haruna might too. I didn't expect it so early though.
It's an official site by the way. AnimeLab is kinda like Crunchyroll except for Australia and New Zealand. It kinda helps that it's also run by the biggest anime distributor here in Australia.
Oh… damn…
Chap 75… ayup, that's it. Congrats, Haruna, it took you only 35 volumes!
I don't like that the chapters stops just before Rito responds though. Makes you think that it'll be interrupted in some way.
But damn, Nemesis has literally become this series' Akane.
That's a shock. I figured Haruna would be stuck in permanent No man's land due to the real life issues with her character.
Considering her Demoted to Extra status, it's surprising that they are having her confess, even if she was the girl Rito was originally going after in the first place.
One Strip! One Strip! So I just finished reading the fully translated version of chapter 75. Holy crap! Rito confessed back to Haruna on the last page! It looks Momo and Nemesis didn't see those two confessions coming. And it also looks like Rito isn't fully on board with the Harem plan.
Man, now I want to see what happens next. I guess this is one of the downsides of being up to date with an ongoing series.
As a side note, the little timer that showed up during Rito's perverted accident for this chapter was quite hilarious. XD

I assume this is supposed to be something like 'Pretty much the female equivalent, with nothing about her to make her nearly as desirable as the other more unique girls'?
