[up] Mikado's pretty cool and funny, but I'm not a big fan of overly big breasts. =[ Lala size is perfect, Mikado size is... eeh.

Chapter 67: still not hentai. I think. Probably.

Chapter 69… "Ah well, I'm bored, nobody's home, I guess I'll crash at Rito's place and see if he wants to have sex with me." Sure, Risa, do that.

…That's two chapters in a row where Rito didn't trip. =O Or rather, two chapters in a row where he didn't need to trip.

Chapter 70: Suddenly, PLOT!

Not actually translated yet, but that could be a while.

Yeah, it seems this series likes to remind us that it has a universe every now and then, since the end of the Darkness arc.

And it likes to remind us that Mikan likes to eat in very interesting ways. And also that she's 12 YEARS OLD, physically if not in mind.

I still don't know what kind of drugs the authors give to the censors. What kind of mainstream series can allow itself those kinds of scenes?

Yeah, I remember scrolling down and thinking, "Is that really necessary?" *turns page* "Oh come on!"

I wonder if To Love-Ru can pull a Negima-level Genre Shift because to this day, Gid showing up to put the boot to Nemesis is one of my favorite moments from Darkness.

Or really a spin-off focusing on Gid and how he conquered the galaxy.

Probably too late by now. It's been stuck into harem routines too long, while most successful genre shifts take place relatively early into their series' run. And unlike Negi, Rito isn't really Action Protagonist material.

A spinoff might work, but not only Gid is very overpowered, but his victory being a Foregone Conclusion would take a lot of suspense away.

I think a Magical Kyouko series might have potential. Just show the Series Within a Series as the denizens of the TLR verse would see it, make it clear it's not as cheesy as it would seem from the outside, play a bit with the conventions of the Maho Shojo genre, and you might be on something there.

You do know that Kyouko is already a character ripped from Black Cat right? She's one of the bigger antagonists in it, her To Love RU self is pretty much exactly the way she was at the very end of Black Cat.

So? Black Cat still isn't a Magical Kyouko series, since she's not the protagonist.

Oh hey, the return of Yuuki "Fuck-You-Laws-Of-Physics" Rito.

Other than that, it was a pretty cool chap. I wonder when Yami learned how to control her Darkness form though…

I chuckled a bit when Nemesis warned Rito to stay back because he was useless against a male opponent, implying that against a girl she'd just throw him at them so he could go grope-a-tron 3000.

[up] …And guess what. [lol]

Chapter 72. Yami confesses her love to Rito just after he CIS'd her. Awks. And Kuro retires from his assassin job after seeing Yami walk her own bloodless path.

Wait a minute… Is this… development?! No one invited you, get out of my status quo!

I wonder if Riko could be useful against a male opponent.

Well couldn't he just punch a male opponent in the face?

He seems like the type to never strike a lady.

He could, but his punches aren't even going to tickle any space warrior worth their salt.

Well, at least he could try.

That's more then what he could do with female space warriors.

You don't understand. With females, he always can fall on them and fondle them, which will leave them too embarassed to fight or to fall in love with him. Because all women, even hardened warriors from completely alien cultures, follow the same patterns of virginal Japanese waifus who owe themselves to the first man to touch them. Even the ones who act sexually confident. That's only an act.

Honestly you can probably chalk that up to the same supernatural force that Mikado-sensei once incurred the wrath of by trying to suppress it.

Apparently, the humor in Rito being "unbeatable" against women is lost on certain people here because I see some taking this too seriously.

Orrrrrr it might be that we just aren't finding it funny anymore. There's such a thing as beating a joke until it's dead.

Elfive Since: May, 2009

The joke was already dead. This is the second phase, where characters in-universe have noticed the property and are actively exploiting it.
