The Ace Attorney Series

Dai Gyakuten Saiban ain't in English yet, but we're getting a new Main Series game.

All i know (which is from kotaku which in turn is from Famitsu) is that there is a new system that will allow for quicker game play and that it will be at Tokyo Game Show this year.

Pity about Great Ace Attorney. Oh well.

So we should get new info sometime tomorrow. Hopefully this time the game will get a physical release when/if it comes to America.

AA 6's localization already confirmed...very cute Capcom,you think that makes up for what you did to AAI 2 or is doing to Great Ace Attorney?

Looks like this game's taking place in Tibet, or something. Well, Phoenix is certainly no stranger to the Busman's Holiday trope.

RIP Dai Gyakuten Saiban localization. Maybe the 3+ year wait for the fan translation won't be so bad...

Heh, the Magatama 6 is pretty clever. Would have guessed they were going to save Maya's inevitable return for the third game. Wonder if they'll be able to squeeze in some sort of resolution to Apollo Justice's loose ends, assuming they intend to acknowledge them at all.

The "quicker gameplay" comment worries me a little. Dual Destinies already felt overly streamlined to me.

I liked that Dual Destinies had a different "Objection!" theme for each playable character. Wondering how they're going to handle that this time around. Will they just reuse the ones from Dual Destinies? Will they make new remixes or even compose new themes for each character? Or will they just compose one "Objection!" theme to be used by all characters? They also have more options in the case (hee hee) of Wright. Will they use Trials and Tribulations' theme again, or will they use the first game's or (God forbid) Justice for All's theme?

People are suggesting that Phoenix will be the only lead again since the game takes place in a different country. Somewhat amusingly, there is some suspicion that Maya's coming back for this one.

Hmm, kind of seems like a shame to waste the dynamic among Wright and Co. that Dual Destinies set up. Maybe it's a good change overall, though. As much as I want some clarification for Apollo's backstory, I feel like they need to get away from the "EVERY CHARACTER NEEDS TO RETURN" thing Dual Destinies had.

I'd hope Apollo and Athena return. The three of them had a great dynamic.

But I have a feeling we'll be seeing Maya again, which is also good.

I still have hope for that DGS localization, though. Like what eventually happened for PLvsAA!

Still, I'm interested in what's going to happen. Will this country be the setting for the whole of GS 6? Or will it be one or two cases in a global trek? I guess we'll find out sooner or later.

I hope the rest of the Wright Anything Agency pops up in the game. Maya coming back will also probably happen (not because of the logo, but rather on the 'spirits of the dead' focus of the new nation. Maya being the Kurain Master would be an authority in such matters!)

Also, what's the dealie with the Water Mirror?

I will be immensely disappointed if Apollo and Athena aren't playable at some point. After what they built up with the 5th game, Phoenix being the sole lead again would be a massive step back.

That and the previous two games of this trilogy have basically been building up to this.

That wasn't localized by Capcom, though. It was localized by Nintendo of Europe.

Capcom should realize that fans are going to get DGS either way. We did it for AAI 2. How about the way that gives them money?

Phoenix looks a lot more manly in AA 6. I wonder why.

Also, I wonder who that lady is, and why she...probably has some court influence. Maybe a village priestess or something?

...even though Capcom France has stated in it's official twitter that there are no plans to localize DGS in the West...but hey, plans can change, and maybe it's just a current thing!

...then again, Capcom has said a similar thing regarding GK 2, and that never got localized (except by fans).

...I'm still not losing hope, though! It's not a solid 'no', it's 'there's no plans'! Maybe this time, things will be different!

Personally though, when it comes to DGS I'm more worried/hopeful about a sequel rather than a localization. That said, maybe DGS would have gotten a better reception here than what Amazon JP gave it.

Yeah I really doubt they'll try to pass off the heart TIBET as America. That means that there might be a lack of punny names, or it means that both version of the game will continue making puns in languages the audience understands, verisimilitude be damned.

Maybe they'll be foreign-looking names that sound like English puns. Or maybe they'll be meaningful names instead.

On another note, Capcom France has apparently taken back their previous statement and has said that they don't know if there are plans to localize DGS.

Still really cautious, but the hope is still there!

Hmmm, I think it's safe to say that Athena will still be in Ace Attorney 6 at the very least, cause one of those screenshots look like the Mood Matrix.
