While I doubt that Uendo was subject to parental abuse, I also doubt that simply not knowing one's gender could lead to that sort of DID.
Oh no, I didn't mean it was a cause of the disorder, just a possible reason as to why Kisegawa came to be, specifically. By the way, are there any records of personalities developing at different moments?
... And that's called jazz!So the question is, which came first; did he decide to become a Rakugo artist because he had DID, or did he develop DID from getting way too into his art? It usually starts early in childhood, but Patches and Kisegawa seem almost purposely tailored for the art.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! That actually seems like good fuel for fanfiction. Go the edgy, emotional route and write about Uendo having to cope with past trauma, or the humorous, slice-of-life route by writing him after he became a Rakugo artist, suddenly gaining new personalities that he is fully aware of.
If you want to write some Uendo fanfic I will gladly read it, he's my fav.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I horribly suck at writing fanfiction.
That might not be true but I prbably stil won't be the one to do it (well).
Well, took a quick look at Wikipedia and...
"The majority of patients with DID report childhood sexual and/or physical abuse, though the accuracy of these reports is controversial. Identities may be unaware of each other and compartmentalize knowledge and memories, resulting in chaotic personal lives. Individuals with DID may be reluctant to discuss symptoms due to associations with abuse, shame, and fear.
(...) The primary identity, which often has the patient's given name, tends to be "passive, dependent, guilty and depressed" with other personalities being more active, aggressive or hostile, and often containing a current time line that lacks childhood memory.
So... yeah.
... And that's called jazz!Yeah that fits. I'd hesitate to put it on the Fridge Horror page unless we've got an actual psychologist's input on this. But they actually seemed to do research on DID, with Athena mentioning it's incredibly rare. So the abuse angle feels like it was there, but unstated.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.So the DLC is in fact, not released yet. But I kinda expected that.
Oh well!
Funny cus i just beat it. I live in New Zealand though So it probably released before you. The eshops don't update at midnight anyway IIRC.
As for an immediate spoiler-free review: I liked it. One major point in it's favor the phases are not as long as they were in the main game. Hell due to it's content it feels like a major return to old AA. But if i say anymore i'll be getting spoilery (I still need to digest it anyway)
I will say it's best to play this AFTER beating the whole main game since Chronologically it's set after those events

Oooh, it actually comes out midnight, PST!
Which is 3-o-clock in the morning for me (EST). Dunno if I should stay up to play it..
I'll probably wait until Friday, it's good to play on my commute.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Eh, I'll play it for an hour or two before i fall asleep. I'm too excited to go without at least seeing the start of it.
i assumed hasegawa's courtesan title is more in reference to the character they play, and the type they modeled their behavior after, rather than their actual job description.
Same. It's just amusing to think about the implications.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! So to anyone who's started the DLC case already: Anyone got a clue on Ellen Wyatt's name-pun?
Return of the Butz.
I shouldn't have had to wait for the DLC for Phoenix and Maya to finally team up, which is all I ever wanted out of this damn game.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.Headcanon: Sorin is somewhere on the spectrum.
I got that sense too
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.I am surprised Larry managed to stay out of prison with no Phoenix to defend him.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.i'm surprised larry managed to stick with a career for this long
and actually wrote the franny book

"Have a good day. Have a good week. Have a good month. Have a good year. Have a good life." ~CiviaI'm surprised Franziska hasn't killed him for it shown up in the main series since the third game.
Anyone else annoyed about Athena being sidelined for Turnabout Time Travel? Especially how Phoenix, who hired her as a lawyer, actually forces her to to keep doing the magic show shtick. I guess it strikes me a bit of Dude, Not Funny!, especially considering she's legitimately fearing for her life.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.
Damn, I was of the opinion that Uendo might've had some curiosity about being a woman or maybe has some gender issues, but this abuse theory actually makes a lot more sense given the context you've been presenting. Geez.
... And that's called jazz!
