It didn't hurt that Bluth's actual animation was always rather good even if the story and script were crap.
I know people who blame dumb choices from the studios for making his movies past Land Before Time suck. The only problem I got with Don Bluth is that half of his stuff is good, while the other half isn't. His beginning career was good and should have quit while he had the chance. But however, the rest of the litter of his works have terrible stories and unlikable characters.
I only liked Nimh and the first dragon's lair game to come out of him. I'd give him a chance if he did something different rather than his "Disneyish" styled routes.

Don't know if this is proof that it still exists or not, but this interview with Andreas Deja was uploaded on March 22nd, and he STILL states that Ron and Jon have a 2D film in the works! He doesn't mention the title. I also have no idea when the interview itself took place, but it can't be too much before this video. So... is there still hope?
How do we know for certain if Ron and John are doing mort?
Because it says so on Wikipedia.
I dont trust wikipedia dude.
^^^ It's what the original rumor stated, I believe. So if we are to believe that Disney is making a Discworld movie, then most likely it's Ron and John's baby.
Hopefully if it is Mort, then they better bet sure that they better not tone it down for children. I just hate it how they lower down stuff in books whenever they decide to make an animated film out of it. If they is going to be singing in Mort, get Death to sing Thats Death for the credits.
Ron and Jon state that they don't care if their films are musicals or not- they care more about story. Treasure Planet wasn't a musical. If they are directing Mort, I hope it isn't either.
Out of curiosity, provided if this gets made. Who's going to voice act the characters?

We have no proof if Mort is what Andreas was talking about though. I say keep it up.
Then I better leave it opened then.
X4: Of course, for a while they had their wires crossed on that. One of them thought it WOULD be a musical, and had some numbers ready to propose, including "Ben Gunn Boogie".
Wow.
That sounds so bad, it doesn't even sound like an actual suggestion! It's like a parody of a Disney film!
Rich Reeders: [quoteblock]]And I'm celebrating. Trust me, this is Disney; they'd have ruined it.[/quoteblock]
Even if the Disney version was bad, why would that "ruin" the original story? It's not as if the original would magically change because of the Disney version.
the world is so complicatedHey the originalblader has decided to help us.

K. Who is this guy?! I love how he's supporting good animation, but where did he come from?
Why you ask?
Where I came from, is a personal reason. But I just decided to break into the animation industry when I found out that it was gong through a massive change on when nobody was caring for about good animation anymore. And was just into computer animation and the "Kid friendly" stuff. I know damn well that animation is more than a kids stuff and it can explore each different genre. And I managed to get out of the Animation Age Ghetto as well.
I care about good animation because there isn't enough of it to go around. Not the CG, the hand-drawn stuff. And the animation that was made art and good entertainment over doing it for big bags of cash. I'd would love it if Mort happens under the the likeness of 2D animation. And under the touchstone label.

I understand your reservations about your information, and I do too, since this is the Internet, where you can never be too careful.
True. We always have to be careful regarding on the matter of safety.
Yo, Don Bluth had a bad habit of making stupid plots with stupid characters, but I think he had the rare gift to make them work and be believeable. The First Land Before Time movie was much more intense and just worked in a way that a lot of movies with better plots and smarter characters just don't.
Don Bluth might have been able to make that idea work. It would still have a billion awful sequels, though.
