Weak characters getting by on outright hax isn't good at all. Truly hax abilities require little/no skill and are unsatisfying.

There's been a vague idea that the Soul King isn't really all that against what he's doing so having three out of four join him isn't bad.

I have a feeling Mayuri may lose this match. He may not die, but he will certainly be out of the fight for the rest of the arc. I can not quite describe how Nemu is acting but it seems odd for her. She is capable of some independent thought as she gave Uryu the antidote to Mayuri's poison back during the Soul Society Arc, something I doubt Mayuri would have done at that point. I am really wondering if Nemu is going to turn on Mayuri at any point, or maybe I am just misreading her. TO be honest I am really not sure how this fight will really go. Mayuri is acting crazier than usual, and I wonder if he is genuinely afraid deep down and is masking it with his usual scientific curiosity.

It is impressive that Mayuri managed to make a drug that could keep Kenpachi down for a bit, although I have a feeling Kenny will be back up soon. I know a lot of people anticipated a Kenny Vs. Gerard fight, so maybe we will have a situation in which Gerard, being like Kenny and wanting an opponent at full strength, will use his Miracle ability to heal Kenny so they can fight.

This chapter also made me re-think the Elites strength. I think it goes like this now.
