Okay, my last post was made before watching the episode, only having read the corresponding part of the manga.
After watching it... wow.
Haven't seen it yet! How similar would it be to the same bit in the manga?
My FF.net accountWay more dramatic. Kyousuke yells a lot in this episode.
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone.I felt that the manga changed things to up the drama, personally. This was louder, yes, but much funnier.
The manga scene was pretty dramatic, yes.
My FF.net accountMay I repeat something?
This is exactly what Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu should have been.
Kyousuke rocks.

If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.Having read the novel translation just now, the final confrontation with the father is basically the same as it is in the anime, but the anime skipped a little pre-cursor confrontation that lead to an ultimately irrelevant ultimatum. I can sort of see why, in some ways it felt like the novel was drawing it out for no reason.
Kyousuke, more like Brosuke amiright?
I love how he got so Hot-Blooded by the end.
I found it interesting how his mom apparently supported his plan though.
Glancing at my file conversion preview, there's a bit of a scene where Kirino has 99% completion on a VN.
I'd like to say I totally sympathize with that. My Da Capo VN is stuck at 99% because I can't find one more CG! It pisses me off. :(
My FF.net accountYes, I could feel her pain too.
I don't even play those kinds of games (although out of laziness, not aversion) and I can identify with that just from the concept. To have something almost but not quite finished with no end in sight is always frustrating.
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone.I was also missing a CG in Kanon until I found out there was an unlockeable Sayuri epilogue which gave me the final CG I needed. The feeling of victory is great. :P
Also, we're being haunted by Nogizaka Haruka No Himitsu because I just noticed that Kyousuke's dad = Nogizaka Gentou.

My FF.net accountThey have —ing Gendo Ikari as a father. That's —ing scary in itself.
Kyousuke is a bro! Going that far just to protect his sister's hobby is worth a medal! Dude took a fragging Falcon Punch to the face!
Oh right. Nobody has mention how mind bendingly adorable the Childhood Friend was this episode.
What's with that?
I also didn't mention the rather out of place panty shot from the beginning of the episode. I guess the ending was distracting.
Would you guys recommend this show at this point, or should I wait until there's more confirmation of quality?
IJBM lives on here! Sign up!Way Way Way recommend. It might be the best Otaku related show since Genshiken, and possibly the most Moe show ever.
EDIT: Can we kick Mikuru off the Moe page? She is old news...

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!I'd say it's a matter of taste.
Recommended. No doubt about it.
I didn't mention how moe that girl whose name I can't remember was in this episode because I was so wrapped up in Kyousuke's bro-ness. Rest assured, her moe-ness was legendary. Also, Kirino's face after hearing that Kuroneko had to give her sister a bath was amazing.
And yeah, definitely watch it. It's my favorite show of the season so far, at the very least.

Manami's her name. Just finished watching the ep and seeing myself in Kirino is getting more and more reinforced.
Also, this episode has an Easter Egg at the very last second, with what appears to be a game CG of Kirino appearing for about a third of a second. Took me a couple of tries to pause the video to get a screencap.
My FF.net accountI finally got around to watching this show today, and I will have to agree with those saying it's the best show of the season so far.
I didn't really know what to expect coming into this, but I find the show to be both hilarious and heart-warming. Kyousuke is most definitely a Bro, and the scene in the first episode where the Mom walks in on him while he's holding the game had my wife and I both rolling.
This will definitely be one we follow closely.
