There's a few other solid recommendations out there: Dishonored, Splinter Cell, Tenchu, and Hitman all come to mind, and they've all got their little gimmicks that make each one distinct from one another :)
Twitchin' Dem' Gamez.I only have a PC that doesn't have the most stellar specs...But thanks!
Luckily, Hitman's best game doesn't need a computer from Space. I hope the same goes for Splinter Cell.

"Curry killed the pussy hoping that I could kill the hate in you" - Curry, D. "TABOO | TA13OO." TA13OO, PH, 2018Black List is stupidly under-optimized, and also requires heavy specs; a combination that has proven terrible even for those of us with solid specs ._.
Pandora Tomorrow, on the other hand, is pretty fantastic, and undoubtedly my favorite of the series. If you're looking for Splinter Cell stuff, I'd start there!
Twitchin' Dem' Gamez. Are there any games for PC or made after 2011 that are Guitar Hero/Rock Band-like? As in, pressing buttons/keys at the right time to hit notes.

Not in the same vein, per se, but there's Rocksmith — very similar, what with the flashing lights bright colors, except you'll need an actual guitar and a great deal of patience to learn :)
Twitchin' Dem' Gamez.I've played osu, but the gameplay doesn't feel much like guitar hero or rock band to me.
I've considered that, but as you said, it requires a real guitar and lots of patience.
Crypt of the Necrodancer?
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."There's always Stepmania, which is basically freeware DDR. Though it seems you're interested in a Rock Band or Guitar Hero clone.
Yes, I'm pretty good at that one
I'll think I'll try that, thanks.
You'll have to find stepfile packs yourself, though they are typically floating around the internet.
So what games in the PSN flashsale are any good? http://blog.us.playstation.com/2015/01/23/flash-sale-now-live-more-than-60-indie-games-discounted/
Right now I am probably going to get Guacamelee!. Thinking about LUMINES Supernova, Castle Crashers, Dead Nation and maybe Trine2.
First post, so I'm sorry if I look stupid. Most people haven't heard much about Bungie's games before Halo. Marathon is a wonderful game. If you liked Halo, you really should give it a shot. Marathon is one of the first FPS games to focus on telling a story. The story and setting are very similar to Halo. It's also freeware. It has a lot of ambitious things you didn't really see in contemporary FPS games. AI-controlled allies that will turn on you if you kill too many of them, mouse-look, dual-wielding, swimming... I really like Myth as well, but I haven't played it in a long time. Halo draws a lot of inspirations from Myth, not so much gameplay or setting so much as the music and writing. Also I'm sure it's been mentioned already but Earth Bound is definitely one you should put on your bucket list.
The Emperor doesn't care about Redguards.Definitely grab Guacamelee; Castle Crashers, too, if you've got some (non-jerk) friends to play it with!
Twitchin' Dem' Gamez.I've determined what I desire in an RPG.
- A choice of attributes and/or classes that set a baseline for early game skill proficiency.
- Various ways to solve a problem. Fighting, sneaking, talking.
- Characters who respond to your choice of action and playstyle.
Now for what I don't really want in my RPG
- Leveled-item rewards. Finish your quests too early and the rewards will suffer in performance as one levels up. This is what I find annoying about Oblivion and if Skyrim has the same thing as well I'm probably not going to play it in the future.
- Constantly having to loot for upgrades. This is what bothers me about World Of Warcraft and to a lesser extent Torchlight. I have to constantly replace my gear with upgrades just to remain in an optimal state of combat effectiveness. Also the right upgrades tend to be rather hard to come by as they tend to be a part of random loot.
- A cumbersome leveling system. I agree with many people that Oblivion's leveling system just isn't a fun thing to deal with.
Base on my likes and dislikes for RP Gs, what can you recommend me?
I already have Alpha Protocol, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Fallout: New Vegas, and The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion.

I am in the mood for a game where i can play as a scientist/engineer/etc. (or fantasy equivalent) sort of character who is female and is the main character. Any recommendations?
Bonus points if said character is named Sara by default, for some reason.

I actually know a few games that fit that description. No idea of their quality, but...
- Forward to the Sky is a puzzle game.
- Lili is, I believe, an RPG.
- Skyborn is an RPG maker game.
And then there are always games like Fallout or Shadowrun that'll let you make your own character (and name her Sara.)
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Have you played To The Moon? It's one of the best games ever. You get to choose from two protagonists which one you play (they're both present anyway, so to be honest it doesn't make much of a difference) - but anyway, one of the two protagonists is female. The main character of the story is the setting, in a way - it'll make sense if you play it - but there's also quite a lot of focus on the personalities of the two protagonists.
Quod gratis asseritur, gratis negatur. Are any games that can be described as a "sitcom in videogame form"?
I think I have Lili: Child of Geos, Skyborn, and To The Moon. I'll check them out, thanks.
And I also happen to have Fallout, too.
Still, I was wondering if someone would point me to the Atelier games, after I made that post.

Hello, Ive been redirected here from a post a made a few minutes ago. In short, this is what I wrote:
I've been looking lately for new stories to play. Ive played almost every mainstream western-rpg and a lot more, so please try to avoid recommending things like Bioshock or Planescape: Torment. Im looking for obscure (I have no idea if that is the correct way to say it) or not really well known games, with amazing characters, and a compelling story to tell. Take into account that I didnt play a lot of eastern-rpgs (though I tried Suikoden 2 and it was unbelievable!), so you could start with that. You are the only ones I can trust with this task, and I know that you know a lot about this, so I will be waiting for your replies anxiously!
So, thats it. I dont know if Im interrupting any ongoing conversation, and for that Im sorry. Just tell me, and I will move/delete my post elsewhere. Cheers!
A wannabe story tellerDunno if you're aware of it, but The Legend of Heroes's "Trails in the Sky" subseries. is a relatively recent JRPG and a very recent arrival on PC, and it is generally very lauded for its story quality. The first game has been translated; the second game's translation is in progress. The third game and subsequent games will depend on the second game's commercial success.
edit: sorry, name clarification

I must repeat my recommendation of To the Moon . It is certainly a story first and foremost. (It seems I'm recommending it to everyone but I can't help it - it's amazing!)
Have you played Bastion? It's not an RPG - I don't know if you were looking for that genre only - but if you'll take an action/adventure game I'll highly recommend it. It has a great story and some amazing music. (To The Moon has arguably even more amazing music, but anyway.)
I suppose the traditional recommendation for Eastern RPGs would be Chrono Trigger. It's a bloody great game.
Have you tried Cave Story? It's a platform adventure game, again with a serious focus on the plot and characters. EDIT: Oh, and Cave Story also features a great soundtrack.

Quod gratis asseritur, gratis negatur. These are just from the top of my head. If you specify what consoles you have, I can help narrow it down a little.
But if you want a good story, first of all, Spec Ops The Line (Windows, PS 3 and XBOX 360). Moving on to JRPGs, I can recommend Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Last Age for GBA and Wii U Virtual Console, Ys Book 1&2 (sold together, Nintendo DS or Steam), Radiant Historia (DS) and The World Ends With You (DS).
^^ Technically, The Legend of Heroes is far from a recent series, since it started back in 1989. If you mean Trails In The Sky, that's the first game in the trilogy that makes up the sixth entry in the series.

Join us in our quest to play all RPG video games! Moving on to disc 2 of Grandia!
My number one stealth recommendation is Metal Gear Solid. Might not fit what you're looking for, though...
