My abovementioned theory seems to grow implausible. Also, I'm having serious issues trying to follow just what the hell's supposed to happen in these comics. I mean... just what?
Liveblog | DeadblogI think my favorite part of the comic was his rant on how and why these monsters aren't scary.
I would seriously like to talk horror with Linkara. That'd be great.
Anyone who assigns themselves loads of character tropes is someone to be worried about. Those comics...
The moment the ending of #4 was shown, I literally went through a Flat "What" string increasing slightly in tone and loudness, until I found myself screaming.
THAT was how infuriating this was.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987After watching the review, my only question is, "Why?"
Or more exactly, "Why is it so hard to right a good Silent Hill comic? Why is it so difficult to do some research on why Silent Hill is scary? Why was this guy given so many chances to write these comics?"
I thought the first part of the review was a little better, but I loved Linkara's rant on what's scary and not scary. It helps that he's absolutely right.
Yeah, giving something scary an identity kind of ruins it. Unless your going for an identity wildly different from what was already presented which is why Mechara's Robotic Reveal was Nightmare Fuel.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.I'm still taking the "parody" reading. The breaks in tone, monochrome color scheme, Ike's Evil Dead-esque antics, and Bear's bizarre hypercompetence all make more sense if you see it as a caricature rather than an attempt at the reproduction of the Silent Hill tone.
It's doubtful it was intended as a parody, but this is what keeps me sane, okay?
Kill all math nerdsWell, that was interesting.
The Philosopher-King ParadoxAT4W: Silent Hill: Dead/Alive #5.
I really like his intros describing the plot of the Silent Hill game, I do wonder if it will have something to do with the sidestory of the review -I still haven't watched the whole thing-
Edit: Okay, watched the whole thing, yes, the intros had something to do with the sidestory. Now, about the comic itself, that made no sense whatsoever, specially the ending where it pretty much gives a screw you to the ending of the first comic.
Also, Saba!

I can't have you close, so I become a ghost and I watch you, I watch you.OK. I liked Linkara's little Silent Hill plot. It was better than the comic. The issue is that he learned all this stuff without explanation. Linkara's a better writer than this!
To Be Updated when I'm not LazyWhat! His Badass Boast didn't end with "I AM A MAN!".
the statement above is false^I think it's been a few months since he used that at all..
Truly that was a missed moment. Then again, if he said I AM A MAN, he had to punch her, and the story needed him to shoot her instead. Besides "Who the hell are you?" ends it quite nicely.
"I AM A MAN BANG!" could have worked.
But I wonder if we'll ever find out who that 13-year old was? Maybe an AU version of one of the That Guy With The Glasses cast?
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.I assumed it was a reference to the games, but is it?
the statement above is false^^^^^^It's not like Silent Hill hasn't done that to people before. XP
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987Thinking about it, shouting "I AM A MAN" and punching a woman who is being played by your girlfriend may carry some Unfortunate Implications. Or something like that.
Do we know Liz was playing the nurse?
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.Yep, right there in the credits.
Well, he could have just shoot, I was expeting him to do that and then yelling "I AM A MAN!", it was a bit of a letdown. And it's funny how he didn't address the plothole in the creature's plan of making him believe he was her father, since he doesn't seem old enough to have a 13 year old kid.
I can't have you close, so I become a ghost and I watch you, I watch you.Well, the Linkara/Magic Gun fanfic that I've been considering writing just got a lot creepier.
The Philosopher-King ParadoxIs is just me, or did anyone else think Linkara's Badass Boast came off as a little Time Lord Victorious?
There was an element of "delusional" running under it, but I think that was intentional. Like the "liberator of Kickassia" thing - Linkara, doll, you wanted to rule it like Chick and Snob did, not free it.
I cut up one dozen new men and you will die somewhat, again and again.I think that was intentional, given that his entire spiel was "I know who I am".
I think that we can all agree that NOT saying "I AM A MAN!" was a total Missed Moment of Awesome.
also: I was totally right about the Pyramid Head thing!

I sense a return of the Pyramid Head he trapped in a Pokeball last year.
