I have VHS copies and those definitely have Han's conversation with Jabba, at the very least.
but HOW?Right, that change was added during the VHS days
If your VHS is the special editions of the film, then it still has Jabba and Han shooting second.
If you want non-special edition you could also track down the Laser Disk version.
Or you could find a torrent.
They do have medals for almost, and they're called silver! That's still around?
There are still existing copies, but none being actively made.
Also, laserdisk players are also no longer actively made and owners ask ridiculous prices for them.
There are DVD sets for each of the original movies (from 2006 or so) that included the originals based on the laserdisc versions. They were "disc 2" to the newer version's "disc 1".
so i just watched linkara's review of holy terror.
even without his review i would have thought the book was abysmally terrible. seriously, it's so depressing how miller went from being a respectable talent in the business to a racist, misogynistic, pseudo-fascist hack.
I don't think it's so much a case of "Went from" so much as "always was" and it just became more apparent over time.

What it was is he went from a racist, misogynistic, pseudo-fascist who writes good comics to a racist, misogynistic, pseudo-fascist hack. As his skill left the racism, misogyny and psuedo-fascism became more apparent.
Batman: Jazz #3. I thought the Mr. T comic would be reviewed this week. I guess I was wrong. Either way, this should be good.
"So until we see the writers make 'Batman Country Folk Hero'..."
Well. Now I actually kind of want to see that.

I rewatched Linkara's Fortunate Son review in preparation for Jazz.
After all that, I can only think that Gerard Jones is a pretentious douche.
For whatever it's worth, I read his Justice League Europe/Justice League International run years ago and really liked it, though I admit his Wally West Flash/Kimiyo Hoshi Dr. Light "My spouse is Asian too" scene could be scene as racist by some I suppose, though if I recall it's really just supposed to be awkward on Wally's part.
After actually watching a couple of episodes of Zyuuranger i'm not sure i can completely agree with Linkara's opinion that power rangers has to be evaluated on its own merits. i understand his lack of interest in watching the sentai, which is fine, but the issue is that the show has always been very heavily reliant on stock footage from the sentai, which ends up having a huge influence on what the writers can or can't do story-wise. they ALWAYS have to write AROUND the footage rather than being able to tell an original story from scratch.
Case in point with Zyuuranger: While the show wasn't really excellent it felt...right, for lack of a better word. you get to see the footage from Mighty Morphin in its original context, with the original actors. the show as a whole feels much less contrived, and things make a bit more sense. you also find out why they had to write the green ranger out of the show: the green ranger from the sentai, Burai, actually died.

Hasn't stopped Power Rangers from getting source footage shot exclusively for their series and not Sentai. Or how they've told a better story compare to the source Sentai. Or taking a parody piece of Sentai and playing the Power Rangers series it was based off as dramatic.
And nobody forget that History Of Power Rangers: RPM comes out on Thursday.
They do have medals for almost, and they're called silver!POWERHOUSE EXCITEMENT!!!!!
" I did the right thing, didn't I? It all worked out in the end." "In the end? Nothing ends, Adrian. Nothing ever ends."@wehrmacht: Honestly, as a fan of Gokaigers, with the massive shit they did upon it with Power Rangers, I'm inclined to agree. Like, they didn't even acknowledge that they were motherfucking pirates.
What does it matter? yes the need to use Sentai footage explains some issues, but it doesn't alter that the Power rangers teams are creating their own work and story from that. Most of the time....
The two are completely separate stories.
Yes, but no fixing Han shooting first and removing the rubber neck dodge of bullshit out of the special eds.
