Greetings. This is the thread for requesting assistance with recovering a TV Tropes account for which you have forgotten the password.
Before posting here, please note that Get Known has a comprehensive set of instructions for managing your account. To summarize, password resets are limited as follows:
- If you have an associated email address, use the Lost Password link on the login screen to request a reset email. If that doesn't work, post here.
- If you do not have an associated email address but you are still logged in, you can register an email address and use it for recovering your password.
- If you do not have an associated email address, and have not used your previous account since September 18, 2013, we cannot verify your ownership for technical reasons.
- To verify ownership without an email address, and if you have used your previous account recently, you should be logged in on the same computer and/or Internet connection that you most recently edited or posted from.
- It is not currently possible for moderators to reset your password or change your registered email address. As a last resort, you may use our contact form
to send a message to "The Staff".

I cannot find any edit history by a Le_Commodore or Le Commodore. You might as well start a new account anyway, since underscores in troper handles are invalid and will block you from editing. As for Pip Boy 3000, aren't you editing from that account now? Why a reset? Just use the change password link from the knower form.

Hello, I used to be Clouds. Unfortunately, I didn't write my password down, so it was lost. Could somebody reset it for me? Thank you.

Hello, I actually don't have a problem with my password, although I will admit that I actually came close to it but I noticed something, it says that you have to be "known" to post in this thread. If I had forgotten my password, I wouldn't be able to post in that thread so it seems to me kind of useless. You have to log in to post in this thread, but you have to know your password to log in. Sort of a catch 22 if you know what I mean. Is there anyway around that or would I be SOL if I had completely forgotten it?

Our ISP may well have changed our address (plus our modem went whack); and I'm at a school computer now.

Try posting here again from your home computer. Since we don't collect personally identifiable information, your IP is the only sure way to tell that it's you.

^^ Dude, you've been banned twice before, (or at least two other handles that coincidentally posted from the same IP and only that IP have been banned before.) Password resets are not a way to get around a ban.
