[up][up] That video was already great. Why did you just make a million times better? Good Christ. [lol][lol]

I guess I just had something like this in mind at the time.

Only problem with the Rugrats review is it could be too easy to get distracted by how hideously a Klasky-Csupo cartoon translates into early 3D game graphics to even begin to puzzle out FoF's next "It's the worst, therefore it's the best" assertion.

Sooo... it's a League of Legends matchmaking service, trying to make itself look like a dating service, because... that's funny, I guess?

Did you add George Wood's FFVIII review? The beginning still leaves me in stitches.

George: The characters feel dead inside.

slowbeef: Like me.

George: [Squall's] face shows no character. He's over-idealized and the emptiness he feels inside isn't quite captured in his eyes....

slowbeef: I really feel like you're extrapolating a lot from this, George.

Diabetus: And let me tell you more about George -I mean Squall.

No, I added that one, for the ending. You're more than welcome to add the beginning if you want.

Oh my gosh, the Dracula Unleashed one is hysterical. i get the feeling the LPer deliberately got the worst possible ending because it was the funniest one to get.

[up] Considering how everyone else kept dying because of Alexander's stupidity I'd be VERY surprised if that was the best ending XD

Hey, it's only about two more parts until they get to a new part of Ripper, isn't it?

[up][up] I mean, Juliet is the only plot-relevant character that dies during the events of the game; Arthur and Regina were dead long before Alexander came to London.

Okay, I suppose there's also the leader of the Hades Club (is that Leopold? Not sure), but he's basically killed for his hubris, trying to control Dracula of all things. And maybe that professor whose head gets taken off, but I expect that'd happen anyway, and really, how much impact does he have on the overall plot...?

Really, I figure all the deaths in the videos happen whether you're on track for the Golden Ending or not. The game's the sort that'd sooner render your game Unwinnable by Design for not saving people than have a less-than-stellar ending for it - like, Renfield can kill Van Helsing if you don't bludgeon the former first with the blackjack, and it makes your game unwinnable because he needs to be alive later in the plot to prevent Alexander from dying.

https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/VideoGame/DraculaUnleashed

Accoriding to the trope page and related pages, the entire game more-or-less takes place in real time; every single event and travel to a destination uses up time and you're told at the start of the game that you have four in-game days to finish. Not going to a certain event at a certain time of a certain day or simply wasting too much time going to wrong locations is all it takes to make the game unwinnable. Beating the game requires extensive trial and error to find the correct order of events and then performing all of these events as quickly as possible in one near-flawless run.

What pushes this deeper into the cruelty scale is that there's a set of leads and plot thread about the "Bloofer Lady" which is a red herring; pursuing these leads does nothing except waste your time, since the Bloofer Lady plot ends in a dead end and gets you no closer to Dracula.

I'm aware of what the page says, I was referring to it for names when writing my last post.

It doesn't say anything about being able to save the characters that died in that video, though, and two of them were dead before the game even started and thus would be impossible to save one way or another.

I'm surprised no one's been posting their most recent series in here, slowbeef giddily playing an iOS game called Car Escape while Diabetus watches with incredible confusion. It's pretty golden:

These games are hilarious. The sheer ridiculousness of the situations and puzzle is funny enough, but the engrish is the cherry on top. "The bomb is deactived. Thanks to God!"

I've been a bit lax about posting these, but here's the end of the Ripper Wrongpurae.

Ending spoilers: So from what I understand, the identity of the Ripper is randomly assigned when you start the game. There are no hints as to which culprit the game has chosen until you reach the ending. However, the game's final puzzle is to use the shuriken on the true Ripper and not the fake culprits. Failure to choose the right Ripper gets you a game over. So basically, the final puzzle is being a lucky guesser.

What a piece of shit ending.

One of the commenters pointed out the few clues that you could possibly receive as to who the true killer is, but they all seem so similar to literally any other potential clue that it hardly even matters and you'd probably not even register it as being the pointer. Honestly, after that weird scene in Catherine's mind a couple episodes ago, I thought Catherine would be the real killer. It seemed pretty damning to me.

Anyway, I don't even know why they bothered to license "Don't Fear the Reaper" in the game if that one puzzle was its only relevance to anything within the game. It's not even like the song has anything to do with Jack the Ripper. The most it has to do with anything in the game beyond that puzzle is its association with Christopher Walken.

Insert witty 'n clever quip here.
