This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.

Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

So can I edit again? I won't do any edit wars ever again. I'll simply avoid article where my edits are deleted.
Hi, it looks like I was suspended for adding something back to a page after it was deleted. I am so mortified about this, I honestly thought that I had just forgot to hit the 'save' button the first time which is why I added it again - I've accidentally closed out of the preview without saving before. There was no ill intention there on my part whatsoever. I am still new to adding examples and I didn't even realize I could check the history to see what happened. I have looked at it now and I will make sure to check it in the future if something like this happens again. So sorry.
You know, you could've just told me that I was forbidden from editing anything related to the YMMV and WMG pages of FE Warriors. That would've saved me all this trouble...
I bet it's the whole "Gristonne is a Hate Sink" thing that got me here, right? It's always FE Warriors that sends me here. I hope I'm not the only one who gets sent here by this game.
I heard someone say that what I did was "complain about the bad guys". I would like to say that I was trying to find in the presentation of the kingdom of Gristonne things other than "they suck as villain and the story about them isn't any better" by trying to rationalize a reasoning in the way they were written. To me, the only other option was "they were badly and lazily written", but that would most definitely be complaining, so I decided to go with something less negative and try to look for a proper meaning behind the writing of the enemy kingdom.
Here, let me ask you this : Is there any compliments you can give to the FE Warriors writing team about how they wrote the Gristonne army?
When I ask myself this question, my only answer is "they made me dislike them enough that I have no regrets cutting every last one of them down". I'd like to know if you have a different answer. Now that I think about it, maybe that was the problem : I only knew my own answer.

I used a conversational tone editing a comic book page. Someone did PM me about it, and I told them it was okay to delete it (since they were obviously editing it, not that I said it like that). I acknowledged the problem and said it was okay to take down. I don't see why there's a further issue. I thank you for your attention to resolving this being as prompt as the PM telling me of the issue that I received within a half-hour of making the erroneous edit.
As requested, I went to discuss the accuracy of several artists on the one/two-hit wonders page on the "Is This an Example?" thread as well as on the pages' discussion pages as opposed to simply editing the page to reflect what I believed to be true. And today I discovered that I am once again edit banned. My best guess it was because of my tone in my last comment I posted (the only comment I have posted today). I apologize if I came off as rude in that comment.
That all being said, the moderators seem actively opposed to changing anything on those pages despite admitting that they hold several inaccuracies. I believe that something should be done about this and that I should not be edit-banned for speaking up about it.

It's clear you still weren't letting Lorde's removal from Two-Hit Wonder go. It was nice you went to discussion, but you were counterproductive, even going far as to accuse someone for, and I quote, "grasping for straws just because [they] don't want Lorde to be on here." If you're going to discuss an example, please be reasonable.
Care to explain why you've been adding Word Cruft to examples and adding pointless filler to trope descriptions?

I said I would let it go when someone gives me one valid reason why Lorde doesn't belong on that page while the other artists do. That has not happened yet. The "grasping for straws" comment was because I am starting to get the feeling that Lorde isn't on there because people on this site simply don't want her to be on there as opposed to whether or not she actually has done anything to warrant being taken off. But I am sorry if it came off as rude.
I don't think I was being unreasonable or counterproductive. I made my case for why I think either Lorde belongs on that page or the artists I mentioned should be removed and people even admitted that the page has its problems. I didn't insult anyone or say anything rude.
Another issue has cropped up in that it says I have 1 new message in my inbox but when I click on my inbox it says "pm is turned off for you" and I also can't edit posts like this one once they have been posted.
Anyway, I would like to see the issue with the two-hit wonders page resolved one way or another.

I should have thought better about what I posted. For someone who's been around here for so many years, I've really gone awry and I should have been a better citizen of the fora.

I should also add that, for me at least, the issue isn't with Lorde but with precedent and consistency. There are artists who are still on that article whose third biggest hit was bigger than hers. I am not the first person to point out the inconsistencies on those pages and if the issue isn't addressed I certainly won't be the last.

I’m sincerely sorry for, and ashamed of how I behaved on the Star Wars thread. I made the thread a toxic place, and I’m deeply ashamed of how I squandered the chance I was given back in 2015 when this last happened. I know that saying I’m sorry when the punishment has been meted out, and the likelihood of its permanence is the only point of negotiation, is not convincing, especially with my history of recidivism. I feel compelled to do so anyway, because I genuinely do love participating in discussions. I’m tired of being an object of contempt, which is my fault and I want things to be different. I want to apologize to my peers, who I’ve hurt with what I said. I want to make a fresh start and I want to repair my relationship with the community. I want to be the valued discussion participant that I have demonstrated elsewhere – for example, on OTC, in the Politics thread of all places – that I can be. I understand that my behavior must be exemplary on every thread on every forum – I should have had better self-control, thought whether what I had posted should have been posted or not, and I didn’t do that. And in not doing that, I abused the privilege I was given. I feel a genuine sense of loss at the prospect of being banished from a forum I’ve been a part of for years, an association I’ve taken for granted. It feels deeply awkward having this conversation again because it shouldn’t have happened even once, and it’s shameful that it’s happened again. I don’t know what else to say, because the mods only know me at my word, which I’ve broken. I really screwed up, and I’m very, very sorry.

I suppose, with all that said, and because I can't edit my above post, I'd like to conclude by saying that I have, and want to in the future make insightful and constructive contributions to discussions without also causing controversy in the thread, offense to my peers, or problems for the mods, ever again. I'll keep my nose clean and not attract negative attention, and I'll do my best to mend bridges with the mods, which I know haven't been strong lately because of my behavior. I know fourth chances, let alone third ones are rarely given, but maybe I could be considered for one?

Probably just lack of experience writing for a wiki, like the top of the entry you referred to states. I also have a problem in real life saying in seven words what I could in three. Not surprised it came out in my writing, though I was unaware and will try to do better.
I have used "this troper" twice at most specifically because I saw others doing it. Then one day, it said not to in those tidbits atop The editor, so I stopped.

I don't to make it seem like you'll be letting me back in and then the moment your backs are turned, I'm back to old bad habits. I accept that what I did was unacceptable, and I am not trying to defend it. I want to be able to demonstrate that my contrition is genuine and that I'm committed to making a fresh start. I immediately felt terrible for what I said, but within twenty minutes I was administered a ban. Now that I've slept on it, I feel really, really miserable about the whole incident and I want to make it up to everybody. I really don't want to be the bad guy with you all any more. Please.
