This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.
The Forum Rules apply here.
Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

Were you even paying attention to the other users? I also noticed that little spat in ATT. That is NEVER healthy for anyone.
When bringing something to discussion, please wait until consensus is reached. And if I interpret your last edit reason correctly, you are saying others are responsible for your edit warring? Because if so, then you're sorely mistaken.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportI'm not saying that others are to blame for my war. I say that this was a misunderstanding, and I'm trying to clarify it. I can not blame people for that I did not read whole comment in the heat of quarrel.
If you meant the original topic at the forum, I just came to the sad conclusion that together we can not reach a consensus, and my opponent in the second dispute even openly acknowledged this and supported the transfer of the dialogue to the forum. But how can you see, then even there, everything again went round and round, and none of the moderators joined us.
As a result, in the Korra's issue, my original opponent simply began to ignore me and my questions, apparently realizing that there would be no reaction, and the dispute would simply dry up, since my posts will remain unanswered and I can not return example, otherwise I will be blocked. In the end, I do not know what to do here, for I was confronted with the fact that adding critical tropes to such works is simply impossible.

@Fighteer I've asked for help with posting and editing, to prove myself trustworthy. Nobody is acknowledging me. I get the feeling everyone has blocked my posts out of annoyance and now I can't even prove myself to be worthy of editing again.
You can check my recent posts in "Help With English" if you need more info.
What should I do?
~Berrenta
Ah, I had a misunderstanding. I added an additional paragraph to the trope initially without checking the trope page, and thought the trope included hiatuses. I looked at the page and Awesomeness Withdrawal is solely focused on a show ending. The whole trope got deleted at some point and I readded it recently without checking because I wasn't aware why.
Sorry about that, should have made sure I was using the trope right.

Correct, it requires the work to be finished. Be sure to discuss any contested examples with other users.
Since you are getting it, I'll lift your suspension.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportLittle Buster, you need to take responsibility for your own actions. The only person at fault for your edit warring is you. Refusing responsibility will get you nowhere except in serious trouble.
I'm sorry to say this, but it's time for you to go. Goodbye.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportAlright, so no response. I'm guessing Fighteer is not available right now. Help from staff? Nobody is acknowledging my posts and I need to prove I am able to be trusted with editing.
Looking around, I have a pretty good idea of why I'm over here... I'm in a better mood now, though.
You are here because you have been unilaterally changing "imposter" to "impostor", and blanked a page replacing it with a suggestion to use the other spelling. Both are correct spellings; the former is the American spelling while the latter is the Commonwealth spelling. Here, when it comes to American and Commonwealth Spellings, it's first come, first served, so such adjustments are discouraged. Is that understood?
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportThat makes sense. I'd apparently never come across that fact before - I'll file that away in my brain and not make that mistake again.
I speak again...
I'll accept the ban for the On-Topic conversation thread now, but at the same time, I want to be unbanned from private messaging itself. I'll promise I'll only use it for necessary means and not in the ways to bypass the ban of the On-Topic thread.
I swear with all my honesty, that's all I want, nothing more.
The only good fanboy, is a redeemed fanboy.~/@KandC, your suspension is released.
~/@SimYouLater, the Get Help with English thread can occasionally be overwhelmed with multiple requests at a time. It is not deliberate. If you make another post over there, I'll take a look if the regular volunteers do not respond.
~/@Luigisan98, we are lifting it cautiously. Keep in mind this conversation moving forward.

Hey can you unsuspend me please? I am sorry for making useless edits. I'll improve my edits. I'm just new, so I won't make any mistakes.

I'd like to once again campaign to get editing status back. I just forgot what I needed to do besides correcting past mistakes
~Famiclick: Being new doesn't excuse behavior that egregiously violates the rules. For example, you restored the content of Megane despite instructions in the description and comments in the source saying not to. To us, that doesn't look like a mistake.
Secondarily, the fact that there's a Korean wiki out there is interesting, but it is not in and of itself a creative work, so we don't need an article on it, never mind one that's done badly.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"~Mogo: We told you what you needed to do back here. This is not the first time we've done so. If you ignore us one more time, your ban will become permanent and total.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Famiclick was discovered to be ban evading by editing the wiki on a second account. Both accounts have been permanently banned.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I have no idea why I was suspended from editing. As far as I know I wasn't bothering anything. I think I added "faux action girl" to "Wind River" I saw that the post I made was wordy, and I was about to go in and fix it, but someone locked the page. Not sure what was so inappropriate about it. That was the only trope I added to the page, and I can't think why that would be upsetting, but it can't be anything else. Um...bust a move? Excuse me?
Free advice usually isn't.Where to begin... Back in April, you:
- Added natter and violated Repair, Don't Respond
- Made some edits that may stem from an agenda
- Uncommented Zero Context examples without adding context
- Showed some grammar issues
There was also a possibility that you used another account for some edits as well. Does the username Maartine34 ring any bells?
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportMartine 34 IS my user name. I would never erase someone else's comments. If that is what you mean by uncomment. As for the other things, they are so unspecific, I honestly can't saywhat you mean. Like what sort of agenda? And what do you mean repair don't respond? Its toiught to believe I did all that in the few times I have been here. Well, I appologize for whatever it is I did. Maybe this is a bad fit. Never mind.
Free advice usually isn't.Your edits to Literature.A Brothers Price consisted of lengthy and nattery digressions about the nature of masculinity that have no place in an article about tropes. You made these edits using two different accounts: Martine 34 and Maartine 34. Your edits were removed and you subsequently made them again.
Comment markup is the characters %% on any line in an article's source. It's used to enter messages directed at editors and to hide Zero Context Examples. Removing it without correcting the issue that prompted its use is a violation of policy.
If your other edits are any indication, it seems that what you want to do here is complain or argue about our treatment of works and concepts. That's not what this site is for. If you want to make constructive edits, that's great, and we can work with you. If not, well...

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Hi, my account was suspended from editing and I was wondering how long it would last. I have been working really hard on OK KO by adding information no one has yet and been careful with grammars.
Indeed, you are here because your grammar is problematic. We can't let you edit again until you show improvement. You can get help with grammar in this thread.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportAll right why on earth am I getting this suspension.
I really wanted to delete the example, because I did not immediately, but noticed that I was mistaken! But the user for some reason opened edit the article and ignored my question about the reason for this, so I could not either delete my example or discuss its actions. You can read our PM, and see from me the same words in our dialog on At T.
I just did not have the opportunity to correct the situation, because I thought that my opponent decided to rewrite the text and I began to wait for the result of his actions, since I could not delete my duplicated, incorrect example.
All my attempts to explain the situation and find out why my example was a complaint were ignored, but I honestly tried to remove the example and return to the discussion. But I could not, because the page was "detained".
