This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.

Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

I am edit-suspended since last year. It has been months and I don't remember doing anything wrong.

We use it when we want to stop people who are not quite getting our editing style from continuing in way that is causing other tropers work. We don't send out warnings or PM's about these things because we have found they aren't as effective as asking the person to stop by for a chat before continuing.

I can't guarantee that there will be active participation there, however. If you can't get a response that way, send a private message to the troper who added the information.

Hello my account was banned for holding wrong thought positons and I am sorry. I commented about the current political system in the US in a place where it must not be. I am sorry for that. I understand TV Tropes is about pop culture, not real economies, political ideologies and social strucutres.
I apologize profuseley. I shall not comment about real life serious issues in lighthearded forums about TV fiction. I am sorry to the persons i hurt by being filled with resentment and untouchness. I did not remeber having edited the Steven Universe page (maybe it was many months ago). I sincerely apologize for writing there. I am in no position to edit tropes and I will never do it again. However I like to talk with people in forums. Again I am sorry and will not do it again. Alfredo_sanchez: You made a rather nasty discussion post on SelfDemonstrating.Steven Universe calling the people who wrote the article "onanists", among other things. While I appreciate a clever turn of phrase, that kind of behavior is not allowed under any circumstances.
Then you decided that, for some reason, the discussion about Steven Universe in the forums had to be turned into a political diatribe against the United States. This is both off-topic and uncivil, both of which are things we don't permit. After that, you accused us of bias in our approach to moderation.
So, you can see that we aren't too happy with you right now. Give us a little bit of time to discuss your case, and we'll render a verdict. Your apology, at least, is appreciated.
One thing is certain: you will not regain wiki privileges, since your English is too poor to meet our standards. The quality of writing on the forums isn't as big of a deal though.

I was unaware of the consensuses. I truly apologize for this and I will try to visit the discussion pages before I make an edit or page like that.
If i were to have my editing privileges back, I promise this won't happen again.
The real reason I kept adding these subpages was to circumvent the edit lock on Donald Trump. It won't happen again

As far as I can tell I was banned for either improperly launching a trope or launching a trope created by someone else. At the time I was unaware that I was breaking any rules and was under the belief that I was following proper procedure. I would like to continue making contributions to TV Tropes and adding information on pages that fans would enjoy. Thank you for reading

Hey There I was banned from editing for about a year now and while I got it in stride. I would like to appeal my ban.
I love Tv Tropes and would like to contribute what I can because it's fits so much with my ideal about stuff in media(and I like the language used here). And I really feel that after waiting so long it's time to get to troping again and hope that you guys at TV Tropes will remove my suspension, and if not then I respect that your decision to no remove my suspension as your word is final.

Hello. I've been redoing the Glee recaps, and got suspended for it. I'm wondering what I've done to cause the infraction, because I didn't know that I did anything wrong.

~Tvtropesruinedmylife22: You know, at first we were going to release your suspension, but you keep Digging Yourself Deeper. Pestering us about your suspension by chain-posting, Hollering, and PM'ing is bad enough, but now I'm taking a look at your editing history and finding all sorts of problems.
For example, on Evil Dead 2, you listed So Cool Its Awesome, despite that trope being on Sugar Wiki and specifically stating that examples of it are not permitted. Now, that article has a rather depressing number of wicks for something that's supposed to be No Examples Please, but it's still wrong. On the main article, you added Sliding Scale of Comedy and Horror, when sliding scales are not supposed to be used as trope examples. The example of that (and of Bloody Hilarious, which you also added) is zero-context as well.
I see very few substantial edits in your history. It's all fluff. We won't miss you if that's all you have to contribute. Your suspension stands.
~Logic Meister: We're trying to crack down on misuse of Trope Launch Pad. Among those activities are launching tropes in a premature state, ignoring comments about problems, relaunching tropes after they've been sent back, and similar things. You don't earn medals for trope launches. There's no score sheet. A thousand discarded trope ideas are worthwhile if we get a single good one out of the mix, and we'll ban as many people as needed to get that message across.
~Xxlogos: As we've said many times, suspensions don't remove themselves; you have to come talk to us. Your problem is your English. It's pretty bad, or at least it was when you were suspended. We require that contributions to TV Tropes meet an acceptable standard of writing. Our wiki isn't just for us, it's for the world at large, and when articles are poorly written, it reflects poorly on us. Finally, it makes extra work for other tropers, who have to go fix your mistakes.
Grammar suspensions don't have to be permanent, but you need to demonstrate that you've improved. This forum topic is a place you can go to ask for proofreading and advice with examples you want to add to the wiki.
~Goldenroad: You've been removing spoiler tags and altering examples in The Flash (2014) to reveal spoilers that were concealed by using different character names. You did this against the consensus established by tropers who had discussed extensively how to present them. This is not acceptable. If you have a problem with the way spoilers are handled on that article, join the conversation. Don't unilaterally change them.
