This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.

Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

I don't know; you tell us. When is it ever appropriate to contest a person's right to participate in a conversation on the basis of your purported credentials, let alone use language like "their uninformed and unhelpful stink"? Having participated in many trope launches doesn't automatically make you a superior judge of quality, especially when, as was pointed out by quite a few people, your proposal is similar enough to Life Drain that it would attract a great deal of misuse and probably wind up in TRS.

First of all, let me point out that I have never been invited to "participate in a conversation" with sailing101. Rather, I was slapped with a zero-context all-blue comment (of the kind specifically discouraged by YKTTW Guidelines) and expected to "defend" my proposal against vaguely articulated objections. I contend that this was not an invitation to a respectful and constructive conversation. I also believe that my earlier TLP track record shows clearly that my openness to discussion is directly proportionate to how respectfully the other party has considered my ideas before calling out to nuke them.
Secondly, the language was, indeed, unacceptable. I accept full blame for not behaving like a responsible adult on that occasion. To my (weak) defense, I have had a very rough week, and sailing101 had managed to push a lot of my buttons at once, as pointed out above.
Thirdly, the statement that my proposal's tropability was questioned by multiple people is factually incorrect. At the time of my unfortunate post, only sailing101 had raised such a concern, while NotOnAnyFlatbread and oneuglybunny's comments were posted shortly before or after my suspension. Furthermore, before sailing101's drive for bombs, my TLP had received four hats and just one bomb (presumably his), so I honestly saw no indication that anyone else has had similar concerns.
Fourthly, had I been given an opportunity to sufficiently differentiate my proposal from Life Drain, I would have done so to the my best of my troping ability. After reviewing the existing page, I still believe that my idea went in a different direction, despite similar mechanics, and I am open to further discussion (in threads better suited for it) with editors who display a constructively critical attitude (cf. oneuglybunny).
Lastly, I would like to make a case that my outburst did not come unprovoked, but has escalated over several weeks through repeated contacts with sailing101, who has (at least in my limited contacts with him under various TLP entries) consistently displayed an expressly negative and unconstructive attitude towards others' trope proposals. While I recognize the importance of vetting new ideas, I strongly believe that dismissing them without even attempting to help improve them goes against the spirit of this wiki just as much as my outright rudeness earlier went against its rules. This impression had colored my perception of sailing101 during our altercation, and I would be happy to be proven wrong about him.
I can see your concerns Koveras, and I will take them into serious consideration. You are without a doubt a quality troper, and I think your presence in TLP is very good. Since you acknowledge the issues presented, I will restore your wiki editing privileges. As for the TLP suspension, I will remove it in three days' time. You can work on existing tropes until the 26th.
Is that acceptable with you?

Works for me. :-) Once I have my TLP rights back, I would like to retool my previous entry as "Hit Points As Incentive" and add examples that do not involve Life Drain in any way. Would that be appropriate?
I'm not certain about it, but you can try and see what the process yields in TLP.

Hi, i've been banned from editing too, probably because of a bad written post (i'm sorry, i'm not english), and i'd like to ask if i can edit again, i don't know if i did something else wrong, but i don't think i edited something offensive and whenever i find myself involved in an edit war, i at most edit one last time and then leave it at that. So please, if i could edit again, i'd love to add my contribution (otherwise, why would i need this account?) especially on pages which need wiki love, and i'll try to check the grammar next time.

Hello? Tv tropes's admins? If you're reading this, then you should know that after thinking about it for a long time, I still don't understand where I went wrong. I don't know if you know what I did, but I don't know what my mistakes were, but I'm willing to explain everything. I love Tv tropes. It's an awesome website. I don't know if you guys created it or not, but if you did, then you are geniuses. Not being able to contribute to it hurts me, because I visit it quite often. The reason for your suspension was an Edit War on GreaterScopeVillain.Anime And Manga, where you kept trying to add an example from Dragonball despite it being stated, correctly, that it belongs in a different trope.
We don't appreciate people using the articles to conduct arguments. If an edit you make is removed or contested, work it out via Discussion or private messages before adding it back. Or just pay attention to edit reasons.

I know why I was edit banned. I wanted an image to be removed from the Nightmare Fuel page of Star Wars The Clone Wars because I felt it was too scary, even for Nightmare Fuel standards.
For that, I am sorry. I would like to have the suspension removed, please.

I thought that removing the image and stating the reason (in this case, for being too scary) would be enough. Plus, I had no idea how to start a new image picking thread to suggest changing the image. That was the main reason why I've been suspended this time.
I am very and truly sorry. I just need to know how I can suggest changing the image because I felt it is too scary for the page. Do you not care about if people are scared of the image?

We blocked you from the forums because you were making junk topics. The only way we'd even consider releasing your suspension would be under the following conditions:
- We'll unblock your forum privileges only for the Wiki Talk forum, where you can post in the "Help with English" topic.
- Post examples you wish to add to the wiki there for proofreading.
- If you consistently demonstrate adequate understanding of how to write examples, we'll consider your appeal.
I figured he might take it to the mods. :-) What's the next step? Is the issue here with the content or with the form (tone) of my argument?
