This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.

Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

Well, one of them decided to troll the Politics thread with Trump propaganda just under four months ago and got banned for it. We have no way to tell if you're being truthful about your household, just as we also have no way to distinguish which of you is which solely on the basis of your profile information here on TV Tropes. In these cases, caution must be exercised.
Regardless, you can't post or edit on that handle. Make a new one.

I added it back in a completely different place, in a completely different manner, with more explanation. The goal was to accommodate the objection. I'm more than happy to reach a compromise position when I edit.

... As to unilaterality: I'm generally of the opinion that it's better on a wiki to ask forgiveness than permission, **as long as you're not actually engaging in a revert war**.
I'm happy to compromise, but the thing is, I usually prefer to have that discussion by editing the page, and using the edit comments. (One of the previous suspensions you mention is when I just plain forgot to use the edit comment to explain what I was doing.) Particularly when the communication tools on this wiki leave quite a bit to be desired in my opinion. (My experience has been the discussion page is usually useless (if I can't see the forum updating from my watchlist, it might as well not exist), and the forums are even worse.)

Well, if my past contributions (look at Tropers/Luc ; I'm not lying when I say I launched all those pages), the duration involved (only three incidents over 9 years, with (IIRC, as one of them appears to have fallen out of my contributions) years between them and (IIRC) all of them chalk-up-able to misunderstandings on both sides) aren't enough to change your minds, I suppose I don't have anything.

I haven't made very many edits, and I was sure I'd read the rules and everything correctly before I made them. It's entirely possible I skipped over something vital that I may have messed up on. It is a big site, after all! But would definitely like to know my mistake(s) so I can make sure I don't do it again in the future :)
Hello I hope I am on the right page, I am wondering what I did to get suspended and if there is a way to resolve it thank you for your time.
Alright the mass-market version that sold being the censored edition is a weird one. The girls do wear less revealing outfits and a smaller bust size but they're still pretty curvy and there is lots of blood. There's still some Male Gaze. It's about on par with Dragon Ball and Naruto with the censored version (Nothing as bad as Ranfan though). It probably counts but maybe Downplayed?

You must remove it from your browser or disable it on tvtropes.org. Second, you're using Wikipedia syntax while editing. We use different markup. Please see Text-Formatting Rules.

I didn't make nothing of that and let that go because apparently he thinks that's irrelevant. I also consider his entry to be irrelevant since for one thing, it implies doing that at every opportunity, but that is NOT the case.

~Interesting Car Salesman: Edit warring on Marvel Cinematic Universe and uncommenting zero context examples. Zero context examples need to be fixed before uncommenting, and as the adding troper it's your obligation to do so, you don't shove it off to other people. Snappy edit reasons are also not OK.

@Septimus Heap: Firstly. I reverted it once! Once. :/ ONCE! That's NOT edit warring dude. Right there, on the "What to do if you're suspended page", you've got a handy little definition of edit warring for the uninitiated: "If those involved are sufficiently incensed over an issue, this may lead to a cycle of posts, cancellations, counter-cancellations, re-posts, etc."
I reverted it ONCE. The other dude reverted my edits TWICE. So technically speaking, he engaged in edit warring more than I did.
Secondly, yes, I did "shove" the task to him. Why? 1) I was on mobile at the time and it would've been a pain in the ass to write all that stuff down on a teeny touch screen. It took me practically 15 minutes just to write the initial paragraph. 2) Was it THAT hard to fill in a tiny bit of a context? From one troper to a nother?
Thirdly, ...snappy edit reasons? What does that even mean? :/

Dude, you aren't helping yourself here.
You added the examples without context. The other troper correctly commented them out and requested that you add appropriate descriptions. You added them back with the accusation that the other troper was "being a dick". That's the edit war. We then suspended you and the examples were again commented out, as is correct wiki policy.
I don't care if you're editing on mobile, on a PC, or on a particularly technologically advanced cucumber: if you are going to add examples, you should do complete work. Song titles and You Tube links are not proper examples, on any part of the wiki, for any reason. At a very minimum, you must state why you found the music "awesome".

I read up on the editing format and the markup, but I guess I'm not quite understanding the difference between that and what I had done in my edits, or what Wikipedia syntax means. I really want to make sure I don't muck up the pages again, so could someone explain it to me?

~Elle1072: I guess that the suspension reason is referring to your edits on FamilyGuy.Tropes A To C, when you tried to use the [[ ]] syntax for emphasis, rather than '' ''. On TV Tropes, normal wicks are generated by using CamelCase, double brackets [[ ]] are used to create potholes, braces {{ }} are used to force wicks in words that are not in CamelCase, two single quotes '' '' are used for italics, and three single quotes ''' ''' are used for bold. Episode, song, short story, and chapter titles are delimited by double quotes " ", while full-length work titles go in italics.

Ah, okay. I see where I made the mistake. I went back and fixed it when I realized it was wrong, but I'll definitely use the proper markups the first time around. An honest mistake. I'll be more careful next time! 
Also, since I can't edit my post, by "at least 5 people, I meant people I live with. I have 3 brothers and 2 sisters under my family's mobile plan.
