Yes that should happen. If you are on the wrong page, you can see the existance of the right one and you can get there. It's not like we're ashamed of namespaces or anything.
Like I said in a previous thread, there should exist a video game button.
Definitely calling for a VideoGame/Namespace icon. I don't get why we don't have one yet...
I now go by Graf von Tirol.Stickied as reqested
For the Webcomic namespace, could we possibly get a green lightning bolt, since Comic Book has a yellow one?
For Video Game, the first thing that comes to mind is a joystick, maybe like the Atari 2600.

I'd picture a little controller for video games, like the symbol on this guy◊.
Rhymes with "Protracted."Here's some ideas. The shields looked a lot better when I first made them; when they saved, the colors got artifacted really badly.

Not sure what is wrong with the existing icon.
Goal: Clear, Concise and WittyOther than the fact that it's on the wrong namespace, nothing. It should be on VideoGame/. Game/ is for things like card games and board games.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickReally? When did that happen? If you look at the list, it seems to be mostly viddygames.
Goal: Clear, Concise and WittyWhen we started the big namespacing drive and we started to get a lot of game conflicts between table top, video games, and card games and the like so we split them into different name spaces almost a year ago now. We haven't finished the moving though.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickI had no idea we had that icon...it sure looks a lot better than the ones I came up with. So, are Card Games, Board Games, and Tabletop Games going to get their own namespaces or is everything going to stay lumped under Games aside from Video Games?

Tabletop Game/ is it's own namespace. Everything else is in Game/ right now. The two we split out were the ones having the most issues with collisions under the strict namespacing.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickNobody tells me anything.
Goal: Clear, Concise and WittyThe topic has been in Tech Wishlist for months...
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I ain't sayin' nuthin'
Alright, the first thing that comes to mind as a possible icon for Tabletop Game (if there's not already one) is a D20 die. Here's some options:
Also, are Anime and Manga going to remain separate namespaces or be rolled into one?

A D6 might be a little less "WTF is that?"
On the meta topic... Guys, work out what icons you want for which namespaces and PM me when it is all over. I just don't have time to monitor tech wishlist like we could in 2005. These days it is all about whack-a-troll and crushing dickheads.
Between 'baba' runs, I try to do a few line of code towards a new feature.
Goal: Clear, Concise and WittyHere's some options for a D6...personally, I think that would work better for Games than Tabletop Game, but then again a chess piece or suit from playing cards could work just as well.
Hm, my instinct is to leave Anime and Manga separate. Simply because one is usually an adaption of the other, even if most of the time they're close, there'd likely be collisions if one is significantly different, like a Gecko Ending or something.
Fight smart, not fair. That's fine for titles that are just animes or mangas with no adaptations of the other, but what do we do about titles that have both anime and manga adaptations on one page? That's gonna be a huge amount of hard splitting if they need to be separate pages...do we go with whichever came out first if they're just going to go on one?

I'd say go with whichever one came out first and then redirect the other one.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickThat's fine with me.
That's cool too, if they're on the same page.
Fight smart, not fair. For games, videogames are in VideoGame/, and card games, board games, and tabletop games are all in TabletopGame/ (this lumping is supported by Wikipedia too, so I'm pretty happy with it). The Game/ namespace is defunct, and we're still in the process of clearing it out.
What sort of icons are we thinking for ShoutOut/? The speech balloon [1]?
A little stage with red velvet curtains might look nice for Theatre/.
Oh, and that blue D6 is wrong. 1 and 6 are supposed to be on opposite faces.

Rhymes with "Protracted."
awesome, thanks for the examples.
so see, here's what i was saying: Main.Another World does not have a button that points to Game.Another World. Main.Outlander has a button that points to Film.Outlander, though. as they're completely unrelated, should this happen? it just confuses me, i expect to find a movie based on the book series.
similarly, Game.Dragon Force has both a music and a main buttons, both of which point to Main.Dragon Force, which is the page for the band. but the game is completely unrelated to the band.
it's just a nitpick of mine, though, feel free to ignore if the software is just set up that way and can't be changed. it seems like there's some degree of flexibility, though, because the Main.Avatar The Last Airbender page has a button that leads to the Film. The Last Airbender page, even though they don't have the exact same name.
