What's the trope for "It's a Woo-verse, so Badass grants plot armor"?

I see Revy as listening to punk or death metal - something that rejects all existing musical value. But showtunes would be funnier. With that era, you'd get the soundtracks of Little Mermaid or the Phantom of the Opera.

It's an anachronism I know, but I'm just saying. Anyways why can't she have a mixtape from the 90s?

I feel ashamed that my knowledge of rock and pop mostly comes from Glee and Jojos Bizarre Adventure.

Fabiola was boss and is adorable. And Revy was generally kind of a Jerkass in RBT, moreso than usual.

She was a bit of a Jerkass Woobie in the OVA; moreso than the Manga, because it hammers home the point more of Revy's own insecurities. But a lot of Black Lagoon fans are all "Fabiola's a hypocritical bitch and Revy shut her the fuck up", which I think is really unfair.

I've been thinking about getting into Black Lagoon for a while now. Is either the anime or the manga better than the other, or are they about equal?

I think they're about the same but the manga overtook the anime some time ago.

FYI, Chuang Yi of Singapore is defunct. They worked with VIZ to distribute the English translation to English-speaking areas of SEA.

And Vol 10 is going to be out, focused on the Red Card Arc with the new girl on the cover.

The manga is only about half an arc ahead of the anime.

The anime cleans up on the manga and significantly improves on the El Baile de la Muerte arc (aka Roberta's Blood Trail), but they're both worth following. The current arc of the manga is extremely promising; Feng is shaping up quite well as an interesting character and foil—of sorts—to Rock.

But you know this is gonna be a Shoot the Shaggy Dog story, right?

I doubt it. The Hansel and Gretel arc ended that way, but the rest had bittersweet or relatively happy resolutions. And no matter which way it turns out, the character development is already quite impressive.

i dont knew i think that in the end rock is going to be a good guy and SAVE SOMEBODY but i think if he dose that revy is going to die its going to be a bittersweet ending at BEST or hes going to SAVE REVY but die in the process or they may go and say you knew what screw this lets give them a ending were everbody DIES revy benny dutch and rock everybody i guess there would be a message there too dont join this kind of a life but at the same time i dont see as this ever having a HAPPY ENDING

Considering the manga's erratic schedule, I'll be surprised if it ever gets to have an actual end.

Question, do y'all think Rock's rejection of civilization in the Tokyo Arc is meant to be an unambiguously good choice? Part of me says the show sort of frames it like that, but at the same time part of me wants it to not be totally for that type of escapism, ala Breaking Bad.

Also when he says the life had in Tokyo was a mirage, is he condemning society as hypocrisy or is he just admitting he was never satisfied with his life there.

Err, Rock's efforts with Yukio were definitely Shoot the Shaggy Dog.
