I mean the Roegadyn. The Galka were genderlesss.
I think he was talking about the Roegadyn (the Galka expies), not the Mithra expies.
Yeah.
Though, from the sounds of it, the male Mi'qote aren't secluded in this one, either...
Also, just a clarification, it's she.

Man. The indefinite extension of the free trial while they get their shit together is worthy of respect, if nothing else.
It shows that they're taking it seriously now, at least.
Definitely more so than... well, any other failing MMORPG I've seen.
After releasing what amounts to a pile of broken code and expecting people to pop down $50 at retail and a monthly fee on top, they'd better take it frickin' seriously. There is no excuse for releasing any game in that condition. The system requirements already alienate a huge segment of the consumer market; making it suck less might keep them afloat another year.
How buggy is this game? I keep hearing that it is, but I don't know exactly what the bugs are!
Aww....now I really wish I had a better computer.
"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."It's less buggy and more just poorly thought out and put together in general, like it was designed in a vacuum and the developers utilized ideas they liked or thought were creative or original, even if they didn't really work that well in practice.
Really, I'd say the two serious issues are the lack of a search function for shops and the crafting classes. The only bug I've encountered so far is clipping through stairs.
I'd play it if I wasn't so absurdly poor.
My macbook (running windows 7) could almost assuredly run it on the recommended settings, it's just when (if?) the monthly fee returns, I'd have to discontinue that service.
So I take it this is basically the end of main series FF having new MMO installments, bar expansions to XI, then?
I don't know. I really don't understand how this went the way it did in the first place. The game's not that bad, but it was missing key features at launch, but the core concepts are just fine. I don't understand where the hatred comes from, really. The game is just plain not that bad that it can't be enjoyed, but it does need those features to flesh it out that should have been there from the get go.. so I dunno.
I'm at a loss to explain it, anyway.
It's a game in a series that already has a rabid hatedom and an Unpleasable Fanbase...
^^ Internet...and people who rely on internet reviews to judge how good a game is (or let those said reviews and opinions in blogs affect their enjoyment of a game)...
In fact, theres even a trope for that...somehting like Reviews Are Gospels or something...but extends to just plain opinions on blogs...plus, the "everyone in comments section of said blogs are hating on it, therefore it must be bad" line of thought.
I am so glad that I'm immune to that effect, or else I wouldn't be able to enjoy a lot of my favourite games.
"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."I'm not interested in FF14, since I don't play MMOs, and I haven't seen the game in action, but I doubt that it would deserve a spot on So Bad Its Horrible.
Yeah, sorry to break it to you guys, but internet haters and trolls probably aren't the only reason the game's free trial has been extended indefinitely while they restructure their game (and the team in charge of it). If that was all it took, they'd be issuing apologies and moving people around every time a game came out after VII.
Theres no doubt that the game has quite a few problems, like a player run economy and such, but the game is also not as bad as many people make it out to be, for instance, I had trouble finding many of the flaws that many people say the game has...
Granted I've only seen LP's of the game, since my computer absolutely blows.
But from what I've seen in most of those LP's, the game is clearly no where near as bad as reviewers and other blogs say it is.
...or maybe I'm just paying too much attention to all the Cat Girl Cat Girl Cat Girl Cat Girl Cat Girl Cat Girl Cat Girl Cat Girl Cat Girl Cat Girl Cat Girl Cat Girl...
I have played other MMO's before for a short time...and all of them start off crappy, and they get better with more and more patches. So I assume this is how all MMO's are supposed to work.
Some day...when my current computer dies, I'll finally have an excuse to buy a shiny new one.

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."Just reinstalled the game, now that my computer can run it competently and without errors.
First thing I've noticed is that MP regeneration was added. That's a very welcomed change. I need to sort through all the patch notes and see what does and does not apply anymore. Considering the polls like this, I get the feeling I might be better just starting over again.

I still can't decide if I'm ready to give it a go again or not. I do like where they're going with the updates, though.
I know that this is widely considered to have been a total disaster, but I not having played the thing yet, I can't comment on that. However, if anyone is interested in the PS 3 version that will be released with Version 2.0, this might appeal.
It's on Amazon UK to preorder for £7.81. This has got to be a mistake, but if you preorder now you get covered by their pre-order guarantee so that when they do, inevitably, increase the price you still pay what it's at now. You can cancel it at any time, so if you're wanting to give it a go on the cheap, it might be an idea.
Total disaster? maybe for the average reviewer and internet guys, for me, this their redemption to the awful FFXI

They were never a single gendered species to begin with.
Mithra are a Matriarchal society where men are largely domestic and in the homeland.
Genkidama for Japan, even if you don't have money, you can help![1]
