Square said they have no plans to nerf Atma "right now", meaning any nerfs Atmas get will be much later if that is the case.
With my Daystar Robe and Pants in their full glory, now I can look like something beyond white!
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order. Now if only I cna dye the Royal/Crimson set,..
Unique gear are always flagged as dyeing disabled.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order. That sucks. Someone told me you could dye the classic White Mage set.
Oh that? I believe you need a special item to do that. Dunno how to get it.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.you get it from crafting
Bleh, crafting. Couldn't stand it after trying it out.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.I think there's a quest in Mor Dhona that has something do with dying normally undyable high level gear. I haven't done it though, and have heard it is something of a pain.
So my blue triangled White Mage set can be a thing? That's cool. MMO's are all about long tedious treks to success, so I'll get to it whenever I hit 50.
I don't know exactly how it works, to be honest. I haven't seen many people with dyed high level gear.
Quite the coincidence don't you think?

So I've been saving up Gil through Challenges, Levequests and the like and I've almost got a White Mage to go along with my Scholar, because redundancy's great. I kind of want to gear up both my Retainers for Ventures and myself for more efficient cooking and botany, but I'm not sure if the Gil invested will flow back in as easily for the inevitable end game money sinks (300k for a Free Company room is the standard now, but I'm sure it'll get nasty if they ever release full size, private homes.) Should I spent the cash now or wait on it?
Retainers usually bring back 9 to 13 bronze pieces which are 100 gil each, but that's if you do the 18 hour ventures. Quick ventures don't need a gear level, but the loot they bring back is totally random, ranging from absolute trash to unique gear.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order. So I recently got this game and am currently a lv. 20 Marauder (lv. 8 or so Gladiator on the side for Flash and eventually to turn into a Warrior). I'm basically a little in the main story past the point where you venture to the other two starting cities and have run into a little problem - i'm unsure what quests I should be accepting and completing for my Marauder and what quests I should be accepting and completing for my Gladiator or whatever other classes I choose to look into playing. Is there any rule of thumb for that, by chance? I assume the beginner quests inside the starting cities are best saved for secondary classes but what about sidequests from settlements outside the city walls?
"You lost, Dio. You lost for one simple reason - you were using charcoal." - Hank HillYou can do whatever sidequests you want. There's no "should" about doing them.
A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they will never sit in.Crossposting this from the general thread, since I have a question that pertains to it that I felt would be better answered by the people in this thread who actively play the game:
My friend also said that this is a really bare-bones kind of trial; capping the level at 20 means barely experiencing what the game really has to offer. He said it barely amounted to more than 2% of the game (although I feel he was exaggerating) and mostly suggested that it wasn't worth the effort if you weren't already planning to get the game at any point.
My question is, is he right in his assessment that level 20 is too low to really entice people to buy the game based on the trial alone?
That both does and does not answer my question. I'm aware nothing is stopping me from accepting them but is there some point (the level requirement, perhaps) that people generally should just say "Okay, saving that for my secondary class."?
Although I started about a week ago (but play it a hell of a lot now), i'd say level 20 is enticing enough - its certainly enough for you to get the hang of a class and tell if you like it or not, for example. Assuming they don't skimp out on story missions, you'll be able to get a good sense of all that without touching what I assume to be the main plot. I'd say it'd really depend on if you can run Sastasha or not in the Free Trial, as that's the first real instance of anything that even remotely resembles endgame content.
If the next two weeks is pretty open in terms of your schedule and you're willing to give it an honest shot, i'd say what the Free Trial gives you is well worth the time. In short, not a waste.
"You lost, Dio. You lost for one simple reason - you were using charcoal." - Hank HillPersonally I just saved sidequests in a particular zone for the first class I got from that zone. Honestly though, you can level up so quickly from daily roulettes, FATEs and Leves that there's little point in saving them.
A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they will never sit in.Just do the side quests anyway. Dungeons and FATE rushes will help you level up your other classes. Guild and Levehests are another good way to farm for EXP. Once you hit level 43, you can start doing the beastmen daily quests for EXP and other loot.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.I just got the game recently myself, but this seems to be a decent leveling guide. It's rather easy to get to level 15 in a new class (since I've done that already as an Arcanist and a Thaumaturge for my Conjurer character), which should satisfy the Job requirement. Also, I'm pretty sure low level classes get an experience bonus, which increases the wider the gap (e.g., if you're already a level 40 in one class, and only a level 5 in another, the level 5 will see a decent boost). So I'd recommend going full speed ahead on your primary class, accepting all quests that are within 4 or so levels, push to 15 on the Job requirement when the primary hits 30, get your Job, then continue with the main scenario.
At least, that's my understanding of the game so far.
The level boost depends on your highest-levelled class. So you should level one to 50 before trying any others (sans getting one to 15 to unlock your job, which isn't difficult).
A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they will never sit in.What said. The level boost isn't a sliding scale like the in-game description might lead you to believe, but a flat 50% boost if your current DoW/DoM class is lower level than your highest one.
Also, depending on which job you're aiming for, it might be worth taking one of the "secondary" classes past 15. For instance, Thaumaturge learns Swiftcast at 26, which is a major lifesaver for White Mage, Black Mage, Scholar, and Summoner if you have your eye on any of those.

You'd have it anyway by the time you unlocked Black Mage.
A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they will never sit in.haha, yes :p This is what happens when I post while distracted
Swiftcast is still great for BLM though, at least once you get Flare, but that's a whole other subject.

I got all the atmas on one of my characters a while back. Doing the next stage of things with him now, when nothing else takes my fancy.
They've said they won't, but I really hope they ease up on the atma drop rates.
