I guess they don't have any comparison to the Hard Mode Primals to fall back on.
People are still struggling to clear the likes of Bismarck and Thok Ast Thok extreme, so putting it behind that would have cut out a lot of the playerbase, but Limitless Blue and Thok Ast Thok normal are already called Hard Mode, so there's no in between area.
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television.Well, they created Hydra and Chimera especially for that questline. Not super-difficult fights and not the capstone, but no reason they couldn't do *something* to make new stuff in that tier, ignoring logistic and scheduling issues involved.
Square reused the Hallatail and Vault dungeons for the main story quests, but they were altered in a way that they still felt different. Why couldn't have they done that for the relics? I love going back to old dungeons that underwent a change.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.Hydra used Halitali's environment too (the area for Chimera is part of Coearthas) and of course the primals had their arenas in the storyline first. It's battle design that would take up the main aspect, I think, and that's no light load.

Wouldn't the reuse of map assets help cut down on development time?
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.By battle design, I mean fight mechanics which only affects the art end insofar as animations and area layout.
Most of the fights have been recycled anyway, only difference being number crunching and status effects.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.Boss fights tend to have some unique quality; anything on the level of a Primal fight has expectations of something unique and distinctive.
It;s true, one of the things I noticed that all the bosses in dungeons and trials have some sort of gimmick, dungeons are light in comparison to ex trials and raids but some form of mechanic is present

Yeah, I've noticed several boss battles, whether it be dungeon bosses, trials, or raids, that have similar mechanics, but I can't remember it ever feeling like they completely re-used a mechanic, it's always had at least a small twist or change, and I don't feel I can be hard on them in this particular, since it's such a huge game it's amazing that the boss battles are as varied as they are.
I'm wondering now if saying that doing FAT Es for weapon stuff is really recycling content It's definitely not coming up with new content. The real problem is the RNG. I've said before that I don't mind a grind as long as there is measurable progress. Grinding FAT Es for exp or Light for the old relic? Time-consuming, but ultimately I didn't mind because I knew that every FATE I did was contributing. If it's simply a random drop you're waiting for, then every FATE completed where you don't get it is essentially a waste of time. Though I just remembered that someone said earlier you don't have to be the job you're doing the relic for to get the drops this time, so you can multitask, and maybe that's not so bad.
I feel like I should go back to actually playing the game instead of complaining about content I haven't experienced ¬_¬
That's nice if it's true. If you've got a combat class in the 50+ range, you can level them while earning your crystals.
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television.Kind of amused that the game arguably plays nude Thancred for more fan service than it did nude Y'shtola. Sounds like he managed to break the mold and keep his English voice actor, even.

His scene was half played for laughs and half played for his badassery while the other was showing how she barely survived when she got yanked out.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order. They're both classier than typical Naked on Arrival type scenes, though, especially hers. We also get to see a whole lot more of Thancred than we do of her.
Maybe he has more fans. He isn't called Handsome Stranger for nothing.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order. It's like I've said before:
There ARE girls on the Internet, and they need their fanservice too!
So, turns out you can name yourself after a city.
Some sad news in regards to Yurgi's voice actress Sian Blake, who had voiced the character in the Heavensward chapters. A few weeks ago, people on the forums posted links to news sites stating that Sian and her two children were murdered in their own home. Nothing was definite yet, but the FF14 dev team openly acknowledged that Sian Blake is now gone and she will be dearly missed.

Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.Holy shit.
Bought this last month as part of the Humble Square Enix Bundle. Didn't play it very often until last week or so, which means I only have a week left in my free month before it expires. Nonetheless, I feel I'm having a pretty good time with it so far, and maybe I'll consider investing in a Game Time Card if and when I can afford it after the free month expires.
If anyone's looking for me, I'm a Pugilist named Berehta Nettacki hanging 'round the Ultros server. Currently at Level 17 and just unlocked the ability to board the airship to other lands.
Level 17 huh? If you ever take an interest in Ninjutsu or Poetry, you should be set for the respective Jobs, If you wanna stick to Good Old Fisticuffs however, I should warn you that you need to level up another class before you can take pugilism to it's full potential of a (Not so) Bare-Fisted Monk

Today's my last day in the free month of FFXIV. Not sure if or when I'll be able to obtain a game time card or a subscription, but I plan to do it sooner rather than later. For now, I'll just play whatever I can.
FFXIV Is on sale on Steam for 50% off for both the base game and heavensward
Apocalypse: Dirge Of Swans. That's a pretty good deal.
That hadn't occurred to me, but yeah, now you mention it, the tasks required for the 2.0 relic were challenging in themselves, and working to clear them for a tangible and definite award (as opposed to random weapon drops) was good (and see also what I've said before about the difficulty curve naturally dropping off as time went by).
However, grinding FAT Es is not challenging, it's essentially recycling content you've almost certainly already done, if only in passing, and when you bring the RNG into it you remove any guarantee of a reward and there's no actual sense of progress and achievement.
