I think we're invoking Fair Use on any professional work. We try to get permission for any fanart. Anything with a big watermark is bad though, because it looks like shit.
Fight smart, not fair.So an image with a small copyright notice is okay, then?
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.I don't know. I generally consider an "artist scribble" okay.
Fight smart, not fair.If it does fall under Fair Use, then obviously there are other versions of any Magic art out there, although probably not as high quality (though you probably wouldn't have to shrink it)...
Want to use Bomberman, then?
^ Yeah, I think we should.
I'd really prefer the Magic card art, it does a much better job of illustrating the trope. But if it will finally get a picture on there, then okay, use the Bomberman image.
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.Crowner?
Rhymes with "Protracted."Bump...Bomberman?
Bomberman.
Gawd...I just had "Bomberman! Bomberman! Blows shit up like no one can!" to the old Spider-Man cartoon theme in my head.

Just to ask, where did others get the Magic art that's on other pages as page images? Might it be an alternate source for the one suggested earlier?
If there's legal hassle, though, I suppose Bomberman is okay... Too bad he doesn't reflect the personality thing mentioned, though.
Although Dr McNinja doesn't usually use explosives and fit the trope, would this page work for the trope (the bottom three panels)?

MTG art doesn't naturally have copyright symbols.◊
Rhymes with "Protracted."Yeah, there are signatures sometimes, but they're really small (so that they're not too hard to spot on larger versions, but near-impossible to see on the card) and the artist is credited in small print on the card anyways.
Also, I think Fair Use can apply here.
"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelAll the images suggested so far are equally protected by copyright. We should pick based on which one represents the trope the best.
EDIT: Crowner

Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.Onslaught can't be used. It has a copyright logo, which is grounds for immediate disqualification.
Infinite Tree: an experimental story...We already went over this earlier in the thread. There's no reason a visible copyright should disqualify an image. Either we have Fair Use, in which case we can use it, or we don't, in which case we can't use any image without explicit permission.
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.It's listed on How To Pick A Good Image. I've seen quite a few otherwise-good images get pulled for copyright notices.
Infinite Tree: an experimental storyThen How To Pick A Good Image is wrong.
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.And all the pulls we've had in the past for copyright signs are also wrong?
Infinite Tree: an experimental storyYes, they are. Made a TRS thread for it.
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.So you did. Let's take this over there for the moment.
Infinite Tree: an experimental storyUh, in this case, why don't we avoid the problem by just proposing a version of Commando Raid that doesn't have the copyright notice printed on it? The original art doesn't, after all!
Crown Description:
What would be the best way to fix the page?
Magic art is already existent on some pages, like Everything's Worse With Bees. That's why I assumed it was okay. This whole copyright issue in general, I have no clue what's going on, frankly. :)
