Going back to some of the older Zelda games is proving to be a challenge. I keep trying to pull out my paraglider/sailcloth.
Song of the SirensIt just makes me wonder how they will incorporate other classic items like the hookshot and... well, just the hookshot.
I mean, melee weapons already cover the boomerang, hammer, and elemental rods, and bows are literally a class of their own. We also have a gliding tool to cover the Deku Leaf.
I guess the only real "classic" item they can bring back is the Pegasus Boots, and those might not work in 3D for various reasons (although Goron Link's roll is a good approximation of how it could work).
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.A hard-to-get bonus item that gives you unlimited sprint would be bitchin'.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Oh, great! Now I'm imagining the boots themselves running at high speed while a helpless Link's torso flails in the wind behind them. Think single-D Ed from Ed, Edd n Eddy.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?For the first time, I came across a shrine I couldn't beat: the Bravery's Grasp one. I knew I had to hit the switch from afar, so I used combinations of arrows and both remote bombs, but nothing quite worked. I also figured the moving platform had something to do with the solution (especially since it could be Stasis'd), but I had no idea what.
So, I looked up the solution online and it said to first Stasis the laser so you can pick it up. I almost facepalmed because the idea of doing that never even crossed my mind. Now I don't know whether to blame whoever designed that shrine, or myself.
De Romanīs, lingua Latina gloriosa non fuī.I'm just glad that all the tools they give you in BotW aren't limited to obvious targets.
It provides a lot of opportunity for "I can move that?" moments.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.@Asterism: When I started playing Breath, I nearly died a few times because I forgot that jumping is a manual action now.
De Romanīs, lingua Latina gloriosa non fuī.I accidentally figured I can lift the laser cube because I just dropped down with my glider to the treasure, and I was just thinking "I'll just climb over it" and then the Context-Sensitive Button prompt came up.
Guuuys, this is the general threaaad!
So hey, do y'all think we'll ever see Wolfos again? I hope so—they're among my favorite enemies from Ocarina of Time. Someone on Miiverse suggested a "Wolfos Knight" enemy that carries a sword and shield, like a Stalfos (or a ReDead Knight). That'd be schweet.
Come to think of it, Ocarina of Time is full of unique enemies that should totally come back. Twilight Princess brought back a bunch, but not enough. I'm thinking Flare Dancer and Anubis. The latter may seem a little boring, but I like the idea of an enemy that's only vulnerable to fire.
Dead Hand, too! Imagine an HD, current-gen Dead Hand. I'm shitting my pants already!

Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?Wolfos are stupidly easy to kill so I don't really care if they come back or not. Anubis, while interesting in concept, are also just a minor nuisance in OoT since, by the time you encounter one, you'll have Din's Fire and can just completely ignore their little puzzles.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book! They don't have to be mechanically identical to their Ocarina counterparts. Lots of enemies are reimagined from game to game. For example, maybe Wolfos no longer expose their backs automatically, and are only vulnerable to the back slice! That'd be cool.
My philosophy is "Think of something cool first and figure out how to make it work second."
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?Need citation on the "everyone" bit. And weren't you told to stop wonking about it?
Sweet Hylia, this again?
Regardless, I agree that Wolfos would be a cool addition! Breath of the Wild could use more enemy variety.
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."It's a bit disappointing that the last two console zeldas have lackluster enemy variety. I don't know bad it is in Bot W but it was awful in Skyward Sword.
We've got actual wolves now (and "coyotes" that look identical) so close enough?
But hey, I'm not opposed to some sweet new werewolf monsters!
All of which means some people didn't look upon the games favorably. "some" =/= "everyone." And again, weren't you told multiple times to drop the whole "Everyone thinks it was the dark age" thing?
He'll stopped when he's dead. Or banned. Whichever comes first.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Metacritic Scores
Wind Waker HD: 90
Twilight Princess HD: 86
De Romanīs, lingua Latina gloriosa non fuī.We shouldn't talk about Breath of the Wild here because this isn't the Breath of the Wild thread. That game has a dedicated thread for people who want to talk about it. This is the thread for non-BotW Zelda discussion. Methinks that's rather obvious.
And hey, Waxing, will you please stop posting your incredibly unpopular opinions as if they were facts? Thanks!

Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?Actually, general threads tend to include more recent games that get their own threads as time passes and more people have had time to play the games. That's how it works for the Pokemon threads and others I've seen.
Not that I mind talking about Bot W in its own thread if it's really that bothersome, or that I agree with how Waxing Name went about addressing the issue, but I don't really think it's that unacceptable to discuss Bot W here.
Also, I hate to play devil's advocate but the metacritic scores don't really tell the whole truth.

But they do tell that there's no general consensus on some sort of decline for the entries in question. Let alone to the level that Waxing continues to wonk about.

"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."BOTW has been out for, like, three months. That's more than enough time to migrate discussion of it back into here.
I'd still suggest keeping major plot details in spoilertext, but there's absolutely nothing wrong with talking about it here.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!
Those ones aren't really fleshed out enough to assign instruments to.
