Because Kinkajou told me to.
So yeah, anything about Final Fantasy! I guess this would make a good starting point: Which are your favorite games in the series and why?
My two all-time favorites are tied between Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy IX. They're both very fun games that don't take themselves too seriously while still being legitimately emotional. On top of that, Zidane is my favorite Final Fantasy lead in the entire series. He's light-hearted, fun, and a generally nice guy to be around. FFV also has the advantage of having one of, if not the best, Job System in an FF game. Both FFV and FFIX make characters customizable while keeping them all unique in their own way. I'm also very fond of Final Fantasy I; it hasn't aged well, but it's classic, and like FFV, I played it tons as a kid.
I assume we'll drift around to various other FF-related discussions as the topic grows, right?

1000 Words is my favourite FF theme song. It doesn't beat Sanctuary, though.
Life is more fun with infinite MP.OH MY GOD
YOU'RE NOT ALONE IS IN
I'M SO HAPPY
Also, Final Battle, Hunter Chance, Treno's theme, The other side of the door, Melodies of Life, The Place I'll return to someday.
I love this already.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerIt looks like the Dissidia songs included are The Troops' Advance, Dissidia -ending- (meh...I like the version from 012 much better), Dissidia's Final Trailer, 012's Final Trailer, Keeping the Peace, Lux Concordiae, Gate to the Rift, Cantata Mortis, and...weirdly enough, exactly one arrangement - Decisive Battle from FFVI.
IX and X are tied for the most songs, it appears.

Welcome to th:|X has Normal Battle, Seymour Battle, Challenge, Otherworld, Aeon Battle, Decisive Battle, To Zanarkand, Mi'ihen highroad, Suteki Da Ne, Airship, Gagazet theme, Someday the Dream will End.
Oh man, my two favourite Uematsu scores get the most themes.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerDo they not have the rights to Eyes on Me anymore or something? You would think it would be in this game. I'm hoping the Final Fantasy VIII Ending Theme has the Eyes on Me part in it anyway.

I like what I'm seeing on 12: Boss Battle, Summoned Beast Battle, Battle to the death, Brandishing the Sword, The Fight to Freedom, Ending Movie, Rabanastre theme, Eastern Dalmasca desert, Innocence, Giza Plains, Mosphoran Highwaste, THEME OF THE EMPIRE.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerI'm just so satisfied that Answers is there for XIV's Event Music. But also so disappointed that the only character is Y'shtola of all people, she isn't even the most fun Archon let alone NPC.
I really hope the localized version will have the English version Sound of the Wind.

Currently up to Macalania in FFX HD. Didn't particularly care for the updated Thunder Plains theme.
In FFTA 2 I've decided to do something a bit different with my Fusilier/Moogle Knigt - I've given him Geomancy as a passive ability. I'm giving him more levels in Mog Knight this time to boost his offensive power, though he's the only one in the party who doesn't hit twice by default (Most Parivir abilities hit for double damage, Master-Monk's Pummel is a melee version of Double Shot, the latter of which my Sniper uses, and my two Blood Price Summoner/Red Mages are using Double Cast). His main role is utility - Stop-Shotting, which works very well with my Sniper Maim Blading. But Geomancy gives him extra offensive power with Fire, Ice and Bolt shot, meaning he can be used for flat out attacking targets that don't need to be stopped.
He can hit twice normally of course - but that requires Moogle Rush which has a reduced chance to hit, though it does hit 100% of the time on stopped targets obviously.
Think this should be a viable option for the unit actually, should give me some nice extra damage.
My name is Addy. Please call me that instead of my username.Of course, when something is stopped, you might as well hit it with something like Last Breath or Rockseal or Death.
I have a message from another time...The Japanese translation and publishing company Interbooks Co. LTD is looking for new material to bring overseas. To gauge interest in an official translation of the Final Fantasy Ultimania books, a petition has been created by one of its employees.
None of which I have because I find the classes that have them sub-par. For my play style anyway, obviously they can be really good. There are so many ways to break the game apart, my party is but one. A dead enemy doesn't require the party to be buffed or to be debuffed himself - but a Fusilier will be able to target the foe before anyone else so I might as well incapacitate him as the others move in for the kill.
My name is Addy. Please call me that instead of my username.I found one of the funniest ways to kill Seymour Flux: Attack Reels didn't quite finish him off but he got hit with Poison for the Overkill.
Seymour watches and waits...
OVERKILL 1400
Life is more fun with infinite MP.I remember that Seymour fight where he's flanked by two guards, right after you get Shiva. I hated how I needed a very specific tactic (that I found online) to beat him, like it was some sort of puzzle. Somehow, my brothers said that they beat him without knowing that tactic, but I still can't figure out ow they did it. In general, I'm really annoyed by boss fights that require a very specific method, which you can only figure out by dying a lot to it.
"What's out there? What's waiting for me?"Wait, the Auto Potion body guards? That was so simple to figure out, the game even tells you outright, IIRC. Through character dialogue or something.
I don't recall the game ever saying "steal a potion from them to remove all their potions". Even so, you also have to have Yunacast the nul-element spells on the party, in a very specific pattern. The only way to know the pattern is to die to Seymour. And you can't switch characters, because that one won't benefit from the nul spell. When you summon Shiva, you need to have Shiva attack herself. When it's your first Final Fantasy, it's just very counter-intuitive. There might be some other things I forgot.
Just way too trial-and-error for my tastes.
"What's out there? What's waiting for me?"You can just summon an aeon and one-shot the guards. And you don't need to die to Seymour to get his pattern down, you just need to survive the first four turns and memorize it.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerI'll accept the first note, but surviving four castings was a very big "if" for me. Hell, surviving two castings was cutting it. Maybe I just didn't grind for enough hours or use the Sphere Grid incorrectly.
"What's out there? What's waiting for me?"I don't recall having trouble using Shiva, and X was my very first FF game. Granted, Seymour can be a difficult fight, but I'm pretty sure that scrolling text on top of the screen tells you the order of his spells.

There was scrolling text? This game has that?
