I'm so sorry for being late and leaving early and generally being a nervous wreck! I don't know what's wrong with me. It was nice meeting you all and hanging out, if only briefly. And: Rottweiler you are surprisingly tall. And the book I was thinking of was The Kingdom of God Is Within You; guess I forgot it because it sounds too much like a self-help book.

Well I was happy to meet you at all! It was fun while it lasted. Next time just tell your parents directly that you'll be out with a group until <whenever>and maybe you'll be able to hang out relaxed.

I was in Iraq while I was most active, and I dunno. I'm bored, lol. Such are the dangers of vacation. Any ideas?

ok, what does everyone here think of the Occupy movement?

Confusing.

They're pretty well set up in a park in downtown Portland, but I'm still not sure what there goals are or what's going to happen that's going to make them believe they've "succeeded" and go home.

Apparently they're costing the city by causing Cops to work overtime, so here at least, they may not be actually helping the economy.

Mind you, the protestors have been pretty peaceful, save for, like one case. :/ And that case was mostly a reaction to the police. The police don't even need that many people there, really.

I've heard that despite their lack of unified goals they have affected recent politics quite a bit and it's likely all this will result in higher taxes on the rich, or at least, reduced tax breaks.

"We are the 99%" draws attention to the fact that something like the last 1% has 20% of the countries wealth. So if taxes are put into place to divide it a bit more, I'm wondering if the protesters will consider things a success.

Well, I dunno about exactly dividing the wealth up, because this is more about redistributing power than wealth, but ohh. :3
