Screw anyone who says Oghren is all about drinking.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Feels everywhere.
I wonder, could the inquisitor's party members be considered lieutenants? Not in like a military rank way, but in the way that they're basically the people closest to having the same clout and power that the Inquisitor themself has?
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Yes and no. Yes in the sense that they're the highest members of the Inquisition under the Inquisitor them self and the advisors.
No in the sense that not all of them are Military; Cassandra and Blackwall could get away with it but not Sera, Cole, or Solas.
I usually like 'The Inner Circle' as a rank of its own.
That's pretty likely, considering that they're also called Inky's "Inner Circle." I doubt a couple of them throw their authority around (Sera, Varric, Cole and Solas come to mind), but I'm pretty certain the others (Vivienne especially) are pretty comfortable with issuing orders here and there. I mean, Cullen would still have ultimate control of the military forces, Leli over her spies and scouts, and Josie with her diplomats, but otherwise I see no reason why the Inner Circle wouldn't be considered Lieutenants, or even the right hand/s of the Inquisitor.
Though probably it'd be more of an unspoken agreement that maybe the people of the Inquisition should, at the very least, respect the nine individuals (and the three advisors) who pretty much work directly with their Inquisitor, both in and out the field. I mean, they probably wouldn't listen to any orders Sera or Cole would give, but they'd still be afforded a healthy of respect as being part of Inky's Inner Circle.

Hitokiri in the streets, daishouri in the sheets.I did specify that I didn't mean it in the military sense.
Like, another example: In Saints Row 2 and 3, all the main characters who aren't antagonists (Johnny Gat, Pierce, Shaundi, etc) are your lieutenants. I feel like something like the Inquisition would have more of a place to use it than a street gang, as well.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Actually, that's a pretty good comparison. A fair number of your... Homies in Saints Row don't actually have positions of power in the gang (Oleg and Zimos are fair examples, as well as Shaundi and Pierce during the second game), but are you seriously going to tell them to fuck off if they give you an order, especially if they're really good friends with the boss?
Hitokiri in the streets, daishouri in the sheets.Maybe you could compare them with the star players in a sports team, while the Inquisitor is both the captain and the owner and Cullen/Leli/Josie are coaches?
Also, I wonder whether the "Oghren is all about drinking" thing can be considered a sort of self-inflicted In-Universe Flanderization. ...aww, now he makes me sad.

Iron Bull is not a formal part of the command structure and I doubt Sera or Cole are really officially part of the Inquisition at all. Varric would avoid any kind of real authority. Solas probably has some significant influence as an adviser or hired expert, but he always comes off as an outsider.
I think while they might unofficially have more influence, the rest of them probably don't have any kind of real rank or anything. That doesn't mean other soldiers wouldn't defer to them given that the common soldiers do recognize them as part of the Inquisitor's official party. Vivienne would probably milk her position for all its worth. Honestly, I was kind of baffled by her saying she has nothing to gain by entering a relationship with the Inquisitor. Yeah, she's already in a relationship, but you'd think she'd come up with a better lie than saying "Oh, no, having influence over the leader of a small but rapidly growing quasi nation wouldn't serve my interests at all."
According to the children's tales book you receive with the Exclusive Editions of The World of Thedas Volume 2, the mask of a Saarebas covers their eyes completely and the verses of the Tome of Koslun are written on the inside. That is the only thing they are allowed to see their entire lives.
That is taking fanaticism to an entirely different level.
we're aware they have no real rank or anything; we're just saying that, regardless of that, they still have a lot of pull within the Inquisition by virtue of being in Inky's Inner Circle. And, like the Homies of Saint's Row, a common soldier isn't likely to tell them to "fuck off" if they so happened to give an order that doesn't clash with any of the advisers'.
that's in a children's book?! Holy balls.

Hitokiri in the streets, daishouri in the sheets. That seems kind of pointless. They couldn't possible read those verses.
There are slits on the mask, maybe it lets light in to illuminate the verses?
Have you ever had pages of a book pressed right up to your eyes? Can't read shit when it's that close.
"For all those whose cares have been our concern, the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die."And a third point is that if they've never seen anything else, they would be illiterate. Though I guess they could have been taught to read before people realized they were mages.

I would imagine the Word of Koslun in the visor is more fanatical and symbolic than logical.
I would go as far as even drawing a comparison between the Chantry Chanters who can only speak in the chant and nothing more.
At least those ones give you decent bows in return.
Hitokiri in the streets, daishouri in the sheets. The Fallow Mire is a great place to level up without having to do any sidequests early game. I went from level 5 to level 9 in about 90 minutes.
God. the entry for Inquisition on Game Favoured Gender (under Female Favoured) is the fucking worst.
I don't know if I should cut it entirely or try to rewrite...

"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."If you cut it, I don't think anyone will miss it. It also takes care to pointlessly expand on that troper's hate for Cassandra.
Also, personally I don't think that "Oh noes one less romance option" counts as Game Preferred Gender. YMMV on that, I guess.

Probably cut it.
Arguably, it might be worth noting that females (elves in particular) get more romances. The focus on sexuality, however, seem irrelevant unless you broaden it up: there is only one party member who will offer a female-on-female relationship, after all. The evaluation of Cassandra's character, and presenting it as the game giving less or whatever, is incredibly subjective, and also worth being cut.
It's not like being female or male adds any unique stats or ways of solving quests, however. There's a bit more replayability, perhaps? It's a very loose instance of the trope, if it is one.

I just changed it to
You should have left a hilarious edit reason for it.
Also, why shouldn't they stay in the Inquisition? Seems to me it would be a way to get them more involved in next storylines, not less.
I don't know, the whole game was about estabilishing this big fat new piece of status quo, it would feel... very meh to me if it were randomly disbanded in a DLC. Also, I really don't think they're going to do it.
Still, a mid/post-story DLC dealing with powerful people trying to disband the Inquisition would be a great idea.
