Complete Monster potholes in Main pages?

I noticed that there are paragraphs of what a Complete Monster should and shouldn't be in the bottoms of descriptions of certain tropes like A Father to His Men and Noble Demon. Are these really nessesary? It dosen't really have anything to do with the trope at hand. Complete Monster already has rules for it listed on its main page, thread, and subpages too, so it's unessesary too imo.

I suspect they date to before we had dedicated threads to clear all CM examples and there was no such thing as too much reminding tropers of what a CM is supposed to be. (The one on A Father to His Men is even phrased as though CM is the more clearly defined trope, since it says CMs can't be fathers to their men rather than the other way around.)

So, am I good with cutting all the CM paragraphs I come across in trope descriptions?

Actually, the additions to these two pages go back to August 2020, and were added by ~Mario 1995

I’m curious who did it for the other trope pages that have CM potholes like this. Because I know it was more than just those two.

You can pull up the edit history for each page and search for "CompleteMonster", or preferably, specific phrases in the paragraph in question, in the "search by content" box.

As described in the OP, they aren't really potholes; OP is just using the term "pothole" overly broadly.

Villainous examples that are Complete Monsters can never be this trope, as they do not care about anyone except themselves and will happily dispose of their allies when they no longer serve any use to them.
Ah, yes I see no point in these.

Also found this in the description for Pragmatic Villainy:

Note: It is extremely rare for a Complete Monster to invoke this trope, as they are usually unrestrained and do not care if their evil will backfire. In the few examples that do exist, a CM's simplicity is often downplayed by the heinousness of their plans.

Don't CMs thrive on being pragmatic? All of these feel really out of place.

[up][up][up] Yeah, I used the wrong term there. I should’ve described them as paragraphs instead.

[up][up] The cleanup thread often cites Pragmatic Villainy to justify how a character can count as a Complete Monster despite not constantly doing the most evil possible thing. I always thought that bit of the description was weird.
