Suggestion: Just In Time

Current one's pretty blah and doesn't really illustrate the trope except through the dialogue.

How about this?

It's from Asterix, specifically Asterix and the Magic Carpet.

I think it's good like it is but if you think it's too big, just the bottom two panels would probably suffice.

It also wouldn't be a bad image for Asterix's Awesome page.

I like it as all three but just the last two would also work

The last two panels would probably be enough, but it's better than the current either way.

I'd like the 3-panel version more if the page didn't have a header that a long image would collide with. The 2-panel version is good enough, though.

I don't know. I would like to see something with less overlap with subtrope Thwarted Coup de Grâce.

I don't mind the overlap. The suggestion is demonstrating the "just in time" part with the countdown.

I think the fact that it's clearly an execution rather than a battle situation where a traditional Thwarted Coup de Grâce would occur means that there's not nearly as much overlap as is suggested.

, even if it does overlap with Thwarted Coup de Grâce.

Does anyone else prefer either version of the OP for Thwarted Coup de Grâce over its current? That one just looks like a swordfight to me.

The positions in Thwarted Coup de Grâce make it clear enough to me that the guy in black was going for the girl and the other guy got in the way, so I'd keep it there. As 12 notes, Thwarted Coup de Grâce is more of a battle trope anyways, while OP depicts an execution.
