Yogscast Cleanup

Spinning this off the Web Video cleanup thread because it's a whole can of worms.

The individual Yogs pages mostly need to be cut because they're just RL troping or things that should be on a Minecraft series page. The only one that is remotely redeemable is that InTheLittleWood can probably be salvaged for his VTuber lore stuff and moved to the appropriate WebAnimation/ like other VTubers.

These guys, on the other hand... Duncan Jones, Hannah Rutherford, Kim Richards, Lewis Brindley, Rythian, Simon Lane, Sips, Sjin, Turpster, William Strife... Like I said, all RL troping or misplaced Minecraft.

I also think it might be worth evaluating if Yogscast Minecraft Series needs to be split up into individual series. Right now only Flux Buddies has its own page.

...And then, of course, we need to figure out what the hell to do with Yogscast.

I don't know enough about Yogscast myself to feel comfortable handling this alone, so project thread it is

Annotation: The V-Tuber lore overlaps with a few of his Minecraft series (like Rats SMP and Pirates SMP), so Web Animation might not be the best wick for it. Web Video can still check out IMHO.

I don't know enough about the V-Tuber lore myself just yet. I need the time and energy to catch up on what's going on over there as well.

Edit: I'll go to his page for now and try to comment out real-life troping, and add the little I currently know about the V-Tuber lore. I have the rest of today off, so hopefully I can get some work done on that front.

Okay, I'm trying to figure out how to divide up the Minecraft series page. There is weird intertwined fuckery so I think just hard splitting each series rather than trying to categorize them into like Tekkit, YogCraft, etc is the way to go. Tropes that are generalized to all the series can just stay on the main page.

The smaller series with only a few tropes should stay on the main page too, I think.

Non-specific folder, adventure maps, advent calendars and PVP maps can stay on this page. I'm not really convinced the vanilla update videos are tropable.

I recently did a little work on shifting wicks and moving examples (from the deprecated LetsPlay/ pages), despite knowing almost nothing about this subject. Some major issues remain:

• Shadow of Israphel and Blackrock Chronicle desperately need better descriptions on the pages themselves. The latter, noted in particular, seems to not have had videos actually titled "Blackrock Chronicle" until a few episodes before it was Cut Short.
• There are a few other Yogscast productions referenced frequently on the LetsPlay/ pages that might deserve their own work pages, such as the Pixelmon series.

Yeah, a lot of the descriptions are quick placeholders for the split and definitely need work. Blackrock Chronicle was what it was referred to on the main page, so I went with that.

You can definitely split more pages if they have the tropes.

We're in the same boat here regarding knowledge on the subject — I'll probably take a peek into the main page's edit history and see if there's anyone who edits who's still active and ping them here.

I finished going through the main page's trope list here: Yogscast Cleanup

I think there's enough left to justify their content as a whole being tropable, but there's a lot of cleanup needed to remove RL troping and move Minecraft stuff to the appropriate pages.

I've been working on splitting the Yogscast Minecraft Series subpages. All but one of the quotes have been moved; there's only one I can't place (and should probably be deleted with the page if it can't):

I can't verify the episode or series this came from, though the edit history shows that it was added on Dec 24th 2011, which ought to narrow down the source somewhat. (The troper who apparently added it has been inactive for a decade.)

Update: I tried my best to comment out the real-person stuff on the InTheLittleWood main and sub-pages and added some V-Tuber stuff on the main page. Can a fellow editor help me review if the commented-out ones are candidates for removal altogether? I'm hesitant to straight-up delete things.

Also, under the "greater V-Tuber" section, I've included stuff from Evo SMP and the Life series because they're canonically connected to the V-Tuber lore. I need to watch more behind-the-scenes streams and scour Tumblr and stuff to get further confirmation for things, and might add more tropes that his character shows in common across series over there.

Edit: I'll have to watch his POV of the Rats SMP to get more intel on the V-Tuber lore and that's certainly on my to-do list to add more, and I have a page and sub-pages for the Evo SMP in my drafts rn. It's all a work in progress, but we have to start somewhere.
