This RP has started, but is still open to new players!

The waters rippled. A slightly hunched figure looked up slowly, seeing the image of a disc atop a celestial creature, a new world, gradually rising up from the fountain of creation. The figure, definitely an old man but otherwise strangely nondescript, lifted his walking stick. The walking stick itself was more of a collection of geometric shapes, floating together in the overall form of a shepherd's cane, while just barely not touching each other. The eldest god then tapped it down to the floor, once, twice, three times, each sending out a ripple across the world of the gods. The others were thus notified, that a new mortal realm had been born, and for those who wished to shape it to come gather...

Welcome to Worlds of Genesis, a God Sim sandbox RP! In this game you will play as a god, and sometimes their followers, taking part in shaping and influencing new fantasy worlds. Also while interacting with the other gods who are doing the same, and might have different ideas of what the mortal worlds should be like...

First, some RULES!

  • Standard TvTropes forum rules and RP subforum rules of course apply.
  • The mortal world currently in play will be represented with a Worldographer map, and every 'turn' each player may attempt to make one change to it. These 'turns' could be anywhere from a few days to multiple decades in universe depending on things.
    • There's no hard restrictions on what kind of changes you can do, so long as it's not too complicated for me to implement on the Worldographer map. Except don't try to change the entire map all at once, or like, drop a big meteor on an area that another player has been working on without their permission. It's not that you can't do anything against another player, but you'll have to be reasonable. Be sure to specify which hex/hexes you're wanting to do something with, using their coordinate numbers.
    • If two players are attempting changes that would conflict with each other, or trying to do something with a neutral faction of natives to the world or such, then there will be simple (virtual) dice rolls done to determine which change, if any, actually occurs. These rolls will generally be done with all sides having equal odds of winning, unless there are in-universe reasons that one should be more likely than the other, and all players involved agree that the odds shouldn't be equal.
    • Also to be clear, you are not restricted to just one post per turn. You can freely post many times per turn for doing interactions, and you can be posting before and after deciding what change you want to do for the turn. Though, your action may eventually get skipped and the turn move on without you getting one if you're holding up the rest of the game.
    • In addition to your own actions, I might have one or more NPC gods involved in the game, or native mortal factions. Also every turn will have at least one chance, maybe multiple, for random events either positive or negative to occur in the mortal worlds. Plus depending on how your god exerts their control over their mortal followers, they might follow their own free will and do things on their own occasionally.
  • Also, as implied, over time the game might switch from the current mortal world to a new one, generally if everyone feels that there's nothing much left to change with the current world, or if it's getting stale or such.
  • If you really want to/have some reason to, yes you can potentially play as multiple gods. (Like if you want to be two sibling gods that operate in tandem or such.) However you'll still only get one action per turn.
  • Due to the nature of the game likely involving many different locations, I will require people to use location headers on their posts, to help avoid confusion.
  • While it won't be strictly necessary to be in the game, having a Discord account to be in the server would be vastly helpful, as that will likely be where over 99% of the OOC chatter will happen, and will be where all the dice rolling will be shown. I will send you an invite privately after you are accepted, or if you express interest in joining the server anyways.

Now, for some explanations of the universe so everyone knows how the game world operates.

  • Most importantly, what is a god in this setting?
    • The gods have many different ways they can come into existence. Some used to be mortals and were ascended by other gods or through some fantastical means. Others came into existence because mortals on a world started worshiping a god that they made up, and one day that made up god became a real god. Some were created by other gods, either through some fantastical means or through, well, the same way mortals create more mortals. Then there are even ones who simply seemed to spontaneously start existing without any explanation. Last but not least, there are those who mysteriously arrived to this universe from another, where either they were already a god, or they became a god after arriving here. (If you pick this option you must still abide by the same mechanics as everyone else. Also no picking RL historical figures or religious/mythological deities as I would prefer to keep that can of worms closed.)
    • Because of the myriad of ways they can come into being, the gods themselves consider another being a god when they fulfill four criteria. 1: They cannot be killed/destroyed by anything or anyone, or powered down/descended, including by other gods, except for themselves. 2: In the world of the gods, they have a 'realm', which will be explained down below. 3: They can freely travel between the world of the gods and the mortal worlds, without anything being able to stop them. 4: In the mortal worlds, they have a lot of power to shape them as they see fit. If there exists a being that fulfills some of those criteria but not all of them, then the gods do not consider it a fellow god, such as the immortals that some of them use as servants or companions. Immortals will be explained down below.
    • No, the gods do not need prayer badly. Also, because of the different ways gods can form, there are plenty of overlapping and redundant gods. (In other words, you can still play as a god of X even if someone else is also playing as a god of X.)
    • The gods do not have strict rules or laws for each other per se, but because fighting each other accomplishes nothing and just annoys everyone, they all more or less have a mutual understanding and agreement to not do it. However that doesn't mean that they don't argue sometimes, or have their mortal followers duke it out on their behalf.
    • The oldest god is the one mentioned in the intro, named Cato. Cato will be explained more down below, in the example character sheet.

  • How about this world of the gods?
    • The world of the gods is a universe of endless sky and clouds, eternally lit despite having no sun or stars to speak of. As mentioned, true gods will have a 'realm' that will come into existence in this world at the same time that they became a god. (Or the same time that they arrived here, if they came from another universe.) These realms will be a location floating on one of the many clouds, and can be nearly anything from the size of a simple bedroom to an entire small continent. They can be changed at any time at the whim of the god who controls it, and can move around in the sky as well. They can be essentially thought of as each god's own little personal room that they get to themselves.
    • At the middle of the world of the gods is the fountain of creation. It is a structure of marble akin to a pavilion, but very ornate and large. In the center is the fountain itself, a pool of ethereal water in the floor that none of the gods, not even Cato, truly understand the nature of. From this fountain, new mortal worlds emerge, not physically there exactly, but an image, like a ghost, which will then swim through the skies of the world of the gods. By going up to the image, the gods (and immortals) can travel into that mortal world, and begin to shape it. These new worlds tend to already have some life on them when they emerge from the fountain of creation, but the gods can also create new life wholesale on them if need be, or if they feel like it.
    • There are quite a number of other gods in this place besides just the player characters. Not all of them always bother interacting with the new mortal worlds though, either because they don't care about the mortal worlds at all, or are busy lording over their domains in older mortal worlds.

  • And those immortals I mentioned earlier?
    • Immortals are either ascended mortals or beings created from scratch that, as mentioned, the gods use as their own personal servants or companions. Like the gods, they can freely travel between mortal worlds and the world of the gods, and usually have at least some power to shape the mortal worlds. However unlike the gods, they do not get a realm of their own, and they can most certainly be killed/destroyed.
    • For the purposes of the RP, you can pretty much have as many immortals under your god as you want, but you still only get one change to the map per turn. They are just for roleplaying purposes.

  • Lastly, the mortal worlds?
    • The mortal worlds are flat worlds, usually but not always on the back of some kind of massive creature, or multiple creatures, and/or pulled by them like a sled. Other than that, they can be wildly different in the ways that they function. As mentioned, sometimes they emerge from the fountain of creation with no life, and sometimes they emerge already teeming with life, including intelligent species with already formed civilizations.
    • They're usually medieval fantasy like in nature, but not always, and the gods can change this over time if they so choose.

CHARACTER SHEET!

  • Name: What is your god called? You may also include any titles, aliases, or nicknames that they like to go by as well.
    • Domain (optional): When someone asks your god what they're the god of, what is the answer? Note this is NOT a restriction; you can be a god of X and still do Y, Z, or anything else with your turns.
  • Appearance: What does your god look like? Feel free to get creative; you do not have to just be a weird looking human in a fancy outfit. You may also have multiple forms, or shapeshift, but be sure to at least include a default form.
  • Personality: How does your god generally behave and interact?
  • History: How did your god come into being? Was that fairly recent, or long ago? What have they been doing since then?
  • Realm: What is your god's personal realm like?
  • Ownership color: When you place stuff on the map that your god wants to have direct control over, what color do you want it to be? You can either have one color, or have a primary color and secondary color. Providing a color hex code(s) would be most convenient with how Worldographer works. (If it's too similar to another player that it would be hard to distinguish them, you might have to pick something different. Also if it blends in too much with any of the Worldographer tiles, you might have to add a second, contrasting color just so we can actually see your stuff on the map.)
  • Immortal followers (optional): If you have any immortal followers for your god that you intend to have around permanently, feel free to describe them here.
  • Other (optional): Anything else you want to mention about your god that wouldn't fit in an above category.

Example filled out sheet.

  • Name: Cato. "The eldest god." "Old C." "The beekeeper."
    • Domain (optional): Time, wisdom, and old men in retirement.
  • Appearance: Cato's appearance is strangely nondescript and has an impossible to describe nature to it. For example, when you look at his face, you can tell that it's a face, and that it's the face of an old man, and tell what expression he is showing. However if you were to be asked to describe the exact details of his face, you would be unable to do so. The color of his skin, the color of his eyes, what clothes he's wearing exactly, are all examples of things you would not be able to tell. He usually stands with a slightly hunched posture, a little shorter than an average man. He wears a cloak, though of course exactly what kind of make the cloak is and what color it is are impossible to determine. He always holds his 'walking stick', which is a collection of strange geometric shapes of shifting chromatic colors, floating together while not actually touching each other, in the overall shape of a shepherd's cane.
  • Personality: Cato is slow, methodical, and wise. He is generally benevolent in his opinions towards mortals, though does not raise any objection or fuss if another god does something malevolent towards them. It is nearly impossible to get him riled up about anything, in fact, which is why he tends to make a good mediator whenever other gods are arguing, in which he rarely ever actually takes a side. So he's not exactly in charge per se, but the other gods do tend to respect his seniority.
  • History: Cato is, as one of his titles says, the eldest god. According to himself, he spontaneously started to exist without explanation, and existed alone in the world of the gods for almost a decade before the first mortal world emerged from the fountain of creation. He shaped it alone for over a century before the next god existed. Ever since other gods started existing, Cato has taken his mediator role as the eldest god. When not mediating, he tends to keep watch over the fountain of creation, watching for the emergence of new mortal worlds, to notify the other gods of it. He also greets new gods when they become a god or when they arrive, explains the workings of their existence to them, and answers their questions.
  • Realm: A massive span of a tree orchard, on gentle rolling hills of green grass. This is apparently also what he shaped the first mortal world into being like. Nearly every type of tree imaginable is there, as he likes to go to each new mortal world and take one sample of any new species of trees there to plant in his orchard. So this also includes many types of fantastical and magical trees as well. Dotted throughout the orchard are also large, ornate apiaries made of the same kind of floating, chromatic, geometric shapes as his walking stick. These are populated by strangely geometric bees, their legs and wings floating just off the surface of their bodies. The bees are polymorphic, having worker bees, soldier defender bees, and lots of other specialized bees for various tasks, some of which are even much larger than their sisters. The bees tend to the trees.
  • Ownership color: Metallic gold primary, violet secondary, #D4AF37 and #7F00FF.
  • Immortal followers (optional): Each one of the apiaries in Cato's orchard is ruled by an immortal queen bee, which are several times larger than their regular workers, (though occasionally one of their specialist role bees will be even larger than her mother queen) who direct their hives as per Cato's instructions. The queens are not all the same, but they are all fully intelligent and capable of speech, and even some magic. In total there are thousands of these immortal queen bees in Cato's orchard.
  • Other (optional): "I see that the world of the gods has acknowledged you as one of us, giving you your own realm. Come, I am sure you have questions..." A phrase or a variation of which that probably all of your characters heard when they first became a god or arrived here.

  • Name: Theri
    • Domain (optional): Love
  • Appearance: The most adorable of gods. Stands at 5'1.
  • Personality: Almost impossibly kind and full of love, Theri is someone who cares—endlessly—for the world and everyone in it. She's incredibly compassionate, and adores love in all its forms, romantic or platonic or familial. She wants people to be happy, and is of the firm belief you cannot be happy without love. Theri strongly dislikes violence, and can be a bit of a doormat, rarely sticking up for herself. She also doesn't really show negative emotions, tending to bottle them up until they become problematic, and being new to the scene means she's quite naive. Still, she is a very caring person who will help anyone if they need it.
  • History: Is there some irony, in the goddess of love being born of an affair? I don't actually know, but it definitely sounds like it.
    • Once upon a time, there was a godly couple: the fire god Somos and the spring goddess Miana. By all appearances, they were happy. But Somos was always a restless soul, one to act on his impulses. When he met the beauty goddess Zevia, it was...perhaps not love, but certainly attraction at first sight. And given the gods' track record, I don't think you need me to tell you how it ended.
      • (It was consensual. For the record. They're both at fault.)
    • Months later, Zevia arrived at Somos's realm with a baby in tow, and introduced her as Theri—Somos's daughter. The fallout was long, and dramatic, and could fill a book, but for the short version, the resulting lovers' spat turned into a mortal war that left an entire world crippled and broken, and young Theri was raised by Amara, one of her mother's immortal followers. And perhaps it was that, being raised with kindness and patience and love, that made her into the goddess of love. Or perhaps Fate just has a strange sense of humor.
    • Theri is now old enough to have her own realm. She's still quite young by divine standards, and has yet to shake off the stigma surrounding the circumstances of her birth. Regardless, she would like to see mortals happy and surrounded by love, so that is what she shall do.
  • Realm: A small silver pavilion, under which sits a few chairs and a fountain. Through the waters of the fountain, one can peer into mortal realms.
  • Ownership color: #FE5BAC. Very pink.
  • Immortal followers (optional): None yet. She's still new, she hasn't had much time to get followers.
  • Other (optional): She doesn't see or speak to her parents much. She'd like to, but they seem to actively avoid her.

  • Name: Stella Rosa "The First Flapper" "The Decadent Goddess" "The Wild One" "She as Free as the Wind and as Mad as Beasts" "The Raving One"
    • Domain: Alcohol, madness, parties, merriment, music, celebration, sexuality, and theater.
  • Appearance:
  • Personality:
    • Stella is Chaotic Neutral incarnate. She's a highly carefree, reckless woman who enjoys a good time and generally does whatever she feels like on a whim. Impulsive, wild, rowdy, she leads a life of parties – scratch that, she is THE party. She throws elaborate, gaudy parties where everyone dances and gets themselves drunk silly. Speaking of getting drunk, Stella lives up to her domain of alcohol by being a functional alcoholic; she loves her drinks, especially wine, and she is never seen without something in her hand to drink, mainly a wine glass or a bottle of beer. Thus, it's not too big of a surprise to find Stella drunk, which happens occasionally as it takes loads of drinks for her to get remotely drunk (she does drink a lot though). She enjoys theater as well for its dramatic performances and outlandish costumes, thus when not throwing parties, she's setting up extravagant plays with batshit insane staging.
    • With all of that partying, Stella is very casual, happy to chat with anyone, god or mortal, over anything. She barely cares about god politics, preferring to mind her business and do her thing, although she'll invite her fellow gods to join in her antics if she feels like it. She generally doesn't like being told what to do unless it's a suggestion from her Lovelies, she's being ordered by Cato or it relates to the well being of her daughter. Because of her casualness, she doesn't get angered that often and is more often than not forgiving to those who were unintentionally rude to her and/or had apologized to her over what they did (especially if they were drunk when they were being rude to her as she's well aware that drunkenness leads to stupidity). However, if you intentionally provoke her and don't stop, she'll get pretty pissed off at you. When she's feeling merciful, she'll inflict a nasty hangover on you; if she isn't, well you can expect to be driven to madness by her.
    • She's gay as hell and any decently attractive woman that walks by will catch her attention. Stella is an unashamed simp and will try to flirt with them. If the woman declines, then she'll respect that and move on (even in her drunkest state). If she accepts, then Stella will become a very passionate lover. One common topic when talking with Stella over some nice drinks is that she'll go on about some hot women that she'd seen and/or dated, going on about their attractiveness and personalities. She's not Zeus-levels lustful, but it is noticeable (at least she respects other peoples' boundaries).
    • Surprisingly, Stella is an affectionate mother towards her daughter, Myra (info below). While she tends to be offhands with her parenting and sometimes neglectful, she does sincerely care for Myra. Stella spoils Myra and enjoys spending time with her. While Myra can drink alcohol just fine, Stella has banned her from doing so after some gods brought up concerns over a child drinking, and lets her drink grape juice instead. Stella doesn't take it very well if someone harms her daughter, so may the other gods have mercy on them because she won't.
  • History:
    • Stella was once a mere mortal who lived in a world where jazz was all the rage, bootleggers smuggled alcohol to speakeasies in spite of Prohibition, the youth was as wild as ever and flappers, young women with bobbed hair and knee-length skirts, dominated the scene. She was born into a wealthy family but from a young age, she was a free-spirited rebel who went against their traditional values. When she just came of age, she met a soldier, Richard, at a dance and they became a couple right away (although later on, Stella would realize that at most she considered him a good platonic buddy). Richard was also a passionate writer, with his words winning over Stella. After a war that Richard was drafted to ended, they ended up marrying and moved to a lavish city.
    • The couple danced and partied their way to the top of the social ladder, spending their days in speakeasies and chatting with the high elite. They became notorious for their antics, from their excessive drinking, to riding on top of taxi cars, to causing mayhem at hotels and theaters and so on. They were dubbed the Enfant Terribles by newspaper headlines and they enjoyed their reputation. Stella in particular was renowned by flappers; she was the one who set an example to them and she always did more and more outlandish things. Richard even dubbed her "The First Flapper". Even with her husband publishing a best selling novel and popular stories, the spotlight was on Stella. She was a global sensation, with tales of her escapades spreading to other countries, and while there were more conservative folk that condemned her, she was wildly beloved by many.
    • Another thing to note about the world Stella was born in, was that while it had religion, the gods these followers worshiped were long gone and by Stella's time, the younger generations were now at best nominally religious as they focused more on booze and parties. The admiration towards Stella became that of intense worship, whether these admirers were aware of it or not, and it all came together on one fateful night. By then, Stella and Richard's marriage was deteriorating as Stella's mental health was spiraling as she was losing a grasp on reality due to the alcoholism and her family history of mental illness catching up to her. She began acting pretty erratic and disappeared once or twice. Richard was sick of it and he was suspecting that he wasn't "loving" him as much as she used to, up to accusing her of having an affair when he found her being platonic buddies with another man. The couple had constant fights, made even worse by their mutual alcoholism. Eventually Stella had enough and fled to the nearest speakeasy. Upon arriving, Stella was welcomed warmly by the patrons and she drank to her hearts finest. She danced with loads of people and had the time of her life. Amongst these dance partners was a red-headed flapper in a cloche hat and coat named Claire. Claire was the person that Stella danced with the most and as they stared in each other's eyes, Stella developed a tender attraction to her. It turns out that she's sapphic and Claire was her real first love. As Claire fell into her arms, Stella leaned in and kissed her on the lips. They were both pretty drunk but even with their judgment clouded, it was clear that both were in love considering that Claire returned the kiss with a pure passion.
    • "I feel like a god," was what Stella thought as she was in Claire's embrace, all drunked up and enjoying the speakeasy. Suddenly, Stella was engulfed in a burst of light, forever changing her being. Her blonde hair turned pink, her grayish blue eyes became a shade of violet, and her outfit became far more elaborate (and purple), grape vines manifested around her and Stella now emitted a divine aura. She ascended into godhood, becoming the world's first god after so long. Naturally no one was expecting such a scene and they stared in bewilderment, with the drunk folk sobering up at the sight. Claire meanwhile just smiled and chuckled while Stella winked at her. Wrapped by the grape vines, they were dragged below the ground and taken to Stella's newly developed Realm. Lying by the grape trees, Stella and Claire chatted, wondering what they should do now. Stella eventually answered that they should have fun and after some… well, there's a reason that one of Stella's domains is sexuality, but nonetheless, Claire became Stella's first Immortal follower.
    • Stella ruled over the world as its sole goddess until the economy crashed and it was no longer cool to drink and party all night. She and her followers, the Lovelies, decided to 'adios' and go worldhopping, staying in these worlds until they got bored. Eventually, they settled in the mortal world that the RP starts in and they have taken a liking to it. Stella's end goal is to "Jazzifly" the world and bring a (hopefully) eternal Jazz Age to it, although she only focuses on that goal every now and then. She's more of a partier than a world builder after all.
  • Realm:
    • A lush vineyard spanding dozens of acres. There are specific sections dedicated to making other alcohol beverages such as yeast farms for beer, but they're pretty small compared to the amount of space the grapes take up. There are barrels and wineries to store the alcohol and ruins of Ancient Greek temples are scattered, with the most intact one being where Stella resides.
    • Inside that temple is a dazzlingly golden throne with Art Deco designs ingrained on it and grape vines wrapped around it. The temple has numerous gaudy 1920s furniture and several treasures that Stella has collected over the years. These treasures consist of goblets, gold, jewelry, gemstones and so on.
  • Ownership color: Purple (#AF69EE)
  • Immortal followers (optional):
    • The Loveliesnote :
      • Devoted female followers of Stella who had been rewarded for their loyalty with immortality, youth and wildness; there's around two dozen of them. Their appearances are basically flappers who embraced the madness of nature, wearing fox and leopard skins over their torn dresses. Their bobs are all messy and wild, they're perpetually barefooted and some might wear cloche hats with grape vines taking the place of the ribbon and the fruit itself replacing the bow while others wear headbands made of leaves. The Lovelies are madwomen and often driven by Stella into an even further frenzied state through dancing and drinking. During these dances, they dressed in knee-length fawn skirts, carried thyrsi, and played Jazz instruments that Stella created.
      • The Lovelies are basically Stella's dedicated harem; they're passionate lovers and forever follow her every move, assisting her in any way possible such as making alcohol in her Realm and helping set up her parties. It's a very open poly relationship as the Lovelies don't mind Stella taking in another lover; in fact they'll try to convert the new lover into their group. They're not exactly welcoming to men but only in a "Stella's a lesbian! You have no chance with her!" manner. If a dude doesn't attempt getting into Stella's pants and becomes a follower of hers, the Lovelies would accept him. If a dude does try getting into Stella's pants, the Lovelies would come to try getting the dude away from her, even if he's a god.
      • While the Lovelies are largely equal in rank, they do have a Queen Lovely of sorts; Claire, Stella's first love and follower. Clarie is basically Stella's main consort and sole wife. She's more docile than the other Lovelies (don't get the wrong idea, she's still nuts, just tame compared to the rest) and wears the most fancy, gorgeous clothes out of them. She's just as passionate towards Stella as the rest of the Lovelies, always going wherever Stella goes and is Myra's other mom basically.
    • Myra, the Scion of Wine and Madness:
      • Stella's daughter and heir, destined to take her mother's place if she ever gets bored of her role as a Goddess and decides to "retire". Stella got herself exceptionally drunk one night and woke up the next day to find a Lovely cradling her baby daughter. As Stella had no recollection of what happened on that night, Myra's birth is a complete mystery. Was Stella knocked up by someone and later gave birth to Myra in the same night (or even the other way around)? Did Stella drunkenly created Myra from grape vines or clay? Who knows, but Myra is here to stay and is a devoted Mama's Girl.
      • Currently, Myra is a young child around 5-8 years-old physically and at most a few decades old chronologically. Considering she was born as a baby, she's capable of aging as the RP progresses, stopping when she physically reaches her 20s. In her current age, Myra looks a lot like her mother, having the same pink hair and purple eyes. She has her fluffy hair bobbed and wears a simiplisic, boxy violet dress that's from the same era as her mother.
      • Myra has the same abilities as her mother but they're much weaker than hers. Throughout the RP, as she grows up, she'll learn how to hone them and they'll get stronger (but they're always gonna be weaker than Stella's since she's a goddess).
  • Other (optional):
    • Stella's dialogue is purple, Myra's pink, Claire's red and the other Lovelies have their dialogue italicized.
    • About Stella's mental health situation, she's doing ok for a goddess of madness. At most, she's just eccentric.
    • For Richard, he was simply befuddled on the fact his wife became a goddess and turned out to be a lesbian. It certainly made for some interesting inspiration for his works.
    • Stella's rituals consist of hardcore partying/dancing and having crazy performances at theaters. There's always alcohol, especially wine as that's her favorite beverage.

  • Name: Tarna
    • Domain (optional): Nature, plants, wildlife, fertility, growth
  • Appearance:
    • Tarna mostly maintains a rather humanoid form— an incredibly beautiful woman with long, flowing tresses of chestnut-brown hair, vivid green eyes, pale skin, and a full, curvaceous figure. She has a round, heart-shaped face that is slightly freckled, wearing no makeup. She prefers to wear nothing but vines and leaves tastefully covering her body. She wears a crown of olive branches around her head. In the cases where she has to dress "up", she usually wears a simple white silk dress with silvery accents.
    • Tarna is capable of transforming into plants or animals. When sufficiently angered, she will transform herself into a creature that resembles a humanoid tree, with a feminine figure. Her 'hair' is made of a thick tress of maple leaves, and her eyes glow with green light.
  • Personality:
    • Tarna is a very caring and doting motherly figure to her chosen children— the plants and animals of the worlds she lords over. She creates sacred glades that become havens of untouched wilderness, where plants grow in abundance and animals live life to their fullest. She also creates immortals that tend to her sacred groves when her attention must be called elsewhere. When the mortal inhabitants of the worlds she calls home become involved, she becomes cold and distant, aloof and haughty. She has no love for mortals, feeling that they defile the natural world by cutting down trees, hunting and killing animals, and destroying her sacred glades. She is quick to enact harsh punishments on those who sully her primeval woodlands— their cutting implements transformed into branches, sending paragons of wild beasts to ravage woodcutters' camps, or even turning unfortunate hunters into animal prey. She also has no love for most of the other gods; feeling that they encourage mortals to desecrate her holy wilds, and also make claims to the woodlands that she claims as her own.
  • History:
    • No one knows what realm Tarna is native to, but she is an ancient goddess, her primal power going back millennia. Some of her glades go back tens of thousands of years. Since she is not a conversational goddess, she has often refused to explain her origins. Rumors abound about her being a wood nymph that achieved godhood, or being born from a sacred tree eons ago, or being the daughter of a god of life. She has neither confirmed or denied any of these origins.
    • She is believed to have been born on a green world called Sylvanis, a lush paradise with no native intelligent species but teeming with life. Tarna claims to have created all the plants and animals of that world, and claims the wildlife of all others as hers, even though her claim of creating all plants and wildlife throughout the multiverse is patently false. As the Fountain of Creation has birthed new worlds, Tarna has been eager to "adopt" their local flora and fauna as her children, and protect them viciously from those who would seek their destruction.
  • Realm:
    • Tarna's realm in the world of the gods is known as the Mother Tree, which takes the form of an enormous wide-spreading oak tree, with leaves that shine brilliantly in the light that perpetually emenates throughout the godworld. In the boughs of the tree, smaller plants cover the branches while animals are born, live and die among the treetops. Birds sing and flutter about, and the very air feels alive. The tree is so large that when standing in its boughs, it almost feels like one is standing on solid ground.
    • Throughout the sacred tree, within and without, live little villages of Tarna's immortal followers. Tarna's palace is located in the highest boughs of the tree, perpetually hidden by leaves and branches, but when found resembling a wood and thatch multi-layered collection of rope bridges, huts and wooden spires. Foliage and flowers decorate the palace.
    • Within the palace, Tarna's immortal followers live in little wooden huts grown from the trees, as almost extensions of the wood itself. Tarna's quarters are bigger on the inside than they seem, with a central tree backing the great throne that seats Tarna. Her throne room is filled with small bushes, flowers and grasses, birds nesting in the boughs of the tree and punctuating the conversations that take place there with gentle birdsong.
  • Ownership color: #388B30; dark forest green, and #9ED41B; green serum.
  • Immortal followers (optional):
    • Tarna's immortal followers follow one of two camps usually. Sometimes they take the form of giant and majestic versions of otherwise ordinary plants and animals, with humanoid intelligence and occasionally the ability to speak. Otherwise, they will take the form of humans with elements of plants or animals, such as fur, foliage, scales, feathers, the body parts of animals, a green hue, or other such features.
    • Her oldest and most favorite immortal follower is her majordomo, Lord Ruviel. Occasionally called the Horned King or the Green Man, Ruviel is a shapeshifter much like his queen, but his most common form resembles a handsome young man with dark green upturned hair, almond-shaped green eyes, tanned coppery skin, a thin yet toned figure, the twelve-pointed antlers of a stag, and long brown deer-like ears. He wears nothing on the upper half of his body. Below his waist, he has the long, cloven-hoofed legs of a goat, covered almost entirely with leaves and vines. He also likes to transform into a great and majestic stag, larger and more grand than any mortal deer. He is utterly devoted towards and subservient to Tarna, polite and soft-spoken, yet unwavering in his conviction to the goddess of nature. Tarna will occasionally send Ruviel to the gods to speak on her behalf, as he possesses a tact and professionalism that Tarna sometimes lacks. Despite almost certainly having created him, Tarna is incredibly close to him, to the point of taking him as her consort.
    • Tarna and Ruviel's children are a race of immortals with many names— wildkin, satyrs, fauns, woodmen. Like their father, they resemble beings that are half human, half deer or goat. They act as servants (though they are treated well), and are fervently devoted to their mother.
  • Other (optional):
    • Tarna's dialogue is forest green. Ruviel's dialogue is cinnamon.

@Cutegirl920fire: Perhaps a little overboard with the details, but that's fine. As we cleared up the one little problem I had with your signup over Discord, Stella is accepted!

@All Hail Thrall: Tarna is effectively accepted though there's just one little thing I'd want changed. Honestly it's something I should have forseen but didn't think to add to the signup. The color you chose for her blends a bit much with a couple of the tile choices in Worldographer. (Evergreen wetlands and heavy mixed forests in particular are almost impossible to see her color without looking very closely.) While I could hypothetically just avoid using these tiles, I don't want to limit player choices when it comes to what they do on the map, so I would prefer fixing it on Tarna's side instead.

A simple fix to this though would be to add a secondary color that contrasts with the dark green; either a very light green or something different. That way no matter what tile her color is put around, it should still show up clearly.

EDIT: Situation resolved over discord, Tarna is accepted!

Name: Conjecture of Universal Proliferation

Domain: The informal concept of "bugs", i.e insects, worms, spiders. Not a taxonomic category but a conceptual one.

Appearance: The Conjecture appears as a massive and ever changing swarm of insects of every variety imaginable and several that aren't. The size of the mass can vary from small enough to fit in an elevator to a plague of biblical proportions, but it must always manifest as a group, never as an individual insect.

Personality: The Conjecture is dead set on a single goal, to build new races of bugs and to see them multiply and thrive. Indeed, its ideal world would be one entirely choking with crawling buzzing life, all in an endless cycle of birth consumption and diversification. The Conjecture is not stupid of course, it knows it cannot simply overpower all other gods, and is quite content to develop its hives in its own territories as it waits for their own conflicts to weaken them. It is not completely inhuman, and shows an almost maternal love for each of its many spawn, as well as an uncharacteristically genial disposition to those who demonstrate exceptional ambition and willpower.

History: The Conjecture has been around for as long as insects have populated the many worlds. However, for the majority of this lifespan, it could hardly be considered intelligent or divine, more a collective unconscious of the swarm than an actual deity. It is unknown even to the Conjecture why these days of mindlessness ended, all that can be said is one day it wasn't a deity, and the next it was. The Conjecture spent much of its early godhood seeking answers for its existence and its new purpose. Unfortunately, its fellow gods could answer neither question, the former was simply unknown, and their explanation of the latter was too hard for its alien mind to comprehend. Frustrated, it returned to look upon the life it had arisen from. Reaching into the mind of a flatworm, it was immediately struck by revelation. The simple being could think of nothing but to breed and consume, endlessly perpetuating itself. This was the true essence of the Conjecture, life for no reason other than life. Armed with this newfound sense of purpose the conjecture journeyed out into the cosmos, seeking to spread its creations until they would drown the universe.

Realm: The Conjecture's realm represents is ultimate vision. At the center of it is a "sun" in truth a titanic glowworm, the bugs closest to this creature are in a state of constant competition for its rays, from which they generate nutrients. Beyond this initial layer there are countless more; each a unique biome consisting of nothing but bugs filling every inch of the space. Even the subatomic level is not empty as the Conjecture has created animalcules of arbitrarily small size. There is truly nothing here but a endless swarm.

Name: O'Keanu

Domain: The oceans and seas, and the creatures that inhabit them

Appearance: O'Keanu appears as a great aqua-blue octopus dotted with faint teal rings all over, with beige suckers on his tentacles, and two mouths: a typical octopus' beak in the usual position and a (relatively) human mouth full of sharp pointed teeth on the front of his head, giving him more of a face than most mortal octopi have. He also has two sets of eyes, with one pair again being positioned where an octopus's eyes normally are and the other being set in the front of his face, little black orbs whose idle position is a scowl.

O'Keanu can transform into any organism of the sea that he so chooses, but rarely does so, believing there to be no greater animal than the octopus.

Personality: O'Keanu is bossy, prideful, boastful and abrasive - underneath this rough exterior, however, lies a love for the sea stronger than any sailor. O'Keanu holds no contempt for the mortals within his domain, instead trusting the creatures to thrive within and upon the water, and to respect the gifts of the sea. O'Keanu is more intelligent and wise than he looks - typical for an octopus - but can still be wound up fairly easily by another immortal's taunting words, may still put his honour before reason, and still wishes to keep up the image of the proud king of the sea that he knows he is.

History: Before O'Keanu, there was Oo'oo, whose domain was the earth, the sea, the sun and the sky. Oo'oo was respected by beings both mortal and divine in his own universe, right up until they made one critical mistake, causing something so terrible that it is to this day almost never spoken of, only ever referred to in hushed tones as 'the pool noodle incident'. This event left Oo'oo's reputation too tattered to ever show his divine face again, and in their shame they split himself into four different beings - one for the earth, the sea, the sun, and the sky, each a god in their own right - and sent them all to different universes. The newly-formed god of the sea who landed in this universe was named O'Keanu, and this is where his story begins.

Realm: O'Keanu's realm is essentially a large beach, with a tall cliff face behind it and a vast expanse of water in front. In the distance, a great wooden sailboat usually directly below the ship, is a stone castle made to look unimpressive on the outside but filled with all the trappings of a palace fit for a king on the inside. When O'Keanu wants privacy, this is where he goes.

Ownership colour: Primary: Brandeis Blue (#0070ff), Secondary: Cerulean (#1dacd6)

Immortal Followers: Just one. O'Keanu's orange giant squid, his eternally loyal (if a little dim) servant and companion who is roughly twice his size. He tends to stay in O'Keanu's realm unless told otherwise. He's capable of speech by telepathy, but doesn't have much to say in any given situation.

Other:

O'Keanu's dialogue is teal.

I plan to have O'Keanu get some more immortal followers as the RP progresses.

Any similarity to breathtaking persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental.

Ay, you! It's Gold, and I'm noble!

  • Name: Galius
    • Domain (optional): Crafting, forges, workshops, refuge.
  • Appearance: Normally he looks like a very old smith with a long white beard and humble clothes, he wears a metallic apron with seemingly bottomless pockets where he pulls any tool imaginable, his hand and part of his foreman are glistening with ore his eyes shine with orange light and he stands at 5,4 normally

    • His true form is a golem made of metal, treated wood, stone and magma the size varies but legends say he can be as big as a mountain.
  • Personality: Reserved and grumpy Galius spends his days working in whatever project he thinks or is requested. This lifestyle makes him antisocial, he holds his creations in the highest of regards and pride no matter what it is. While his domain is surrounded by giant mountain ranges, once anyone gets to his gigantic forge they are free to go in and ask for any request from an item of beyond masterful quality to become one of the Forged ones, barely asking for anything in return just don't touch the stuff he tells you not to touch.

    • He doesn't get actively involved in mortal affairs nor he cares much about what other gods think of him or his immortals and despite his willingness to do any request he doesn't appreciate those who go overboard with his generosity more than willing to send a golem in an unfriendly mood

  • History: Ever since the first tools where created Galius came into existence, with the first mortals changing their environment and using tools to circumvent their shortcomings and their inventiveness increased his power eventually Galius taught the mortals how to smelt and purify metals which helped them progress but mortals grew dependent on him and expected him to do any of their building whims, this frustrated Galius as he thought teaching the mortals how to smith would bring a new era of timeless creations and to help them a little but they took the easy way so he exiled himself from humanity leaving them only with his teachings never directly interfering again. Now if someone wants a favor from him they will have to go through the unforgiving mountain ranges so they may be proven worthy and determined to deserve it.
  • Realm: A city spanning giant forge where Galius stands at the center ever working the rest of the forge is either dedicated to mining and the gathering of other resources or the storage of numerous creations, giant golems carrying massive vats of molten metal are a common sight, the Forged that decided to stay with him have their own sections of the forge where they dedicate to their craft of choice. The forge is surrounded by giant mountain ranges unforgiving to those not prepared is an odyssey to get trough them but the rewards are worth it.
  • Ownership color: bronze #CD 7 F 32
  • Immortal followers (optional): The Forged or Forged ones are mortals that asked to be Galius immortals, the process to turn them into a Forged one is taking a lava bath while being crushed by Galius hand their mortality burnt away leaving a metallic exterior cementing their immortality and being reborn anew. After this they are free to do as they please Galius doesn't put rules in their ways of life or their fates, he will always be there for them.
  • Other (optional): Galius dialoge is gray

  • Name: She is generally known as the "Grand High Goddess of Meowing". If she has a proper name, it's not widely known. People tend to call her "Meowing" for short.
    • Domain (optional): Cats and all things feline; meowing, cuteness, playing. "Playing" in the feline definition most definitely includes hunting.
  • Appearance: She's usually a floating pink-haired catgirl in whatever form of clothing is most appropriate to the current location. But she can shapeshift at will, usually into a smol calico kitten but sometimes into a novel form for funsies and/or to remind people that she can take any form she feels like.
  • Personality: Full of silly and hubris. Mortals are playthings to her, but she's "nice" to them by her own odd understanding of the term, which mainly involves not wanting to break her playthings recklessly. But she'll also give them nice things if she had fun playing with them.
  • History: She just showed up one day. Investigation seems to conclude that she came from outside the realm, but she doesn't seem interested in talking about her origin.
  • Realm: The Grand High Cat Cafe is, as the name implies, a place a god can go to relax and have a cuppa while petting a kitty. A god might ask oneself, "why not just do that in my own realm?" ... Yes, indeed, a god might ask that.
A door on the back wall of the cat cafe leads to Meowing's personal halls, a sprawling and chaotic place where the many projects Meowing has begun and abandoned can be found... if you're lucky and persistent enough to find your way through the incomprehensible passages. People are generally discouraged from going there, due to how easy it is to get lost.
  • Ownership color: #CA7CA7 pink.
  • Immortal followers (optional): There is always a black cat by her side, who she calls Lucky. He doesn't seem all that different from a mortal cat, aside from being unusually intelligent.
  • Other (optional): Observant Discord users might recognize this as my author avatar character, reimagined as an actual deity. Speaks in pink.

Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.

Well, a bit more activity than I was expecting, let's see, going in order of the posting here...

@bobbitwormhobbitwyrm: An interesting concept overall but I'm a bit concerned over the personality and stated goals of 'The Conjecture'. Your wording implies that it would just about always try to wipe out everything on the mortal worlds that isn't bugs, sooner or later, which seems a bit needlessly conflict-generating for the game which is supposed to be a relatively chill sandbox. Thrall's character was already toeing the line, but even Tarna seems less, "I will definitely try to murder you sooner or later," and more, "don't touch my stuff," whereas The Conjecture currently gives me the former vibe.

And as a side note the orange color would blend a bit with some mountain tiles, so it would be helpful to have a second, contrasting color there.

@The Gold Leaf: Looks good to me; I might want the second blue color to be a bit more different than the first blue, but we can figure that out later if it proves to be a problem on the map. O'Keanu is accepted! I'll send you the discord invite soon.
@jherhmeigringer: To be clear on something, the gods' realms are located in the world of the gods, which isn't exactly easy for mortals to get to in the first place; Galius hiding away in his realm to stay away from them is a bit overkill, but that's your decision to make there.

What I'm concerned about though, is that between saying he doesn't like to get involved with the mortal worlds, and being antisocial towards the other gods as well, I feel worried that you would essentially be doing next to nothing during the RP. I wouldn't want you to be in a situation where Galius is sitting in his forge not doing anything with the mortal world in play, and not having anyone else coming around to roleplay with either, because I can't imagine that would be a lot of fun for you as the player.

Also, the bronze color likewise blends a bit much with some of the mountain tiles, so having a second, contrasting color would be helpful.

EDIT: Issues have been resolved over discord. Galius is accepted!

@wingedcatgirl: I may have to ask you to change the color later if it becomes hard to tell Meowing and Theri apart on the map, but otherwise it looks great to me. The Grand High Goddess of Meowing is accepted! I will likewise send you an invite to the discord soon.

  • Name: Samauth, the God of Death

    • Domain (optional): Death (obviously), judgment, ensuring the souls of the dead pass through a deserved afterlife, cleansing and readying them for rebirth.

  • Appearance: Samauth is a tall, skeletal figure of ashen gray bones. His face is dominated by a single, cavernous eye socket, within which dances a blue flame that serves as his eye. Surprisingly expressive for a skeleton as his eye socket can change to express emotions and his flaming eye burns brighter when angered or excited. He is most often depicted in a suit of largely unadorned metal plate armor, lacking a helmet and criss-crossed with hundreds of deep scratch marks. Sheathed at his hip is a sword that is the physical manifestation of his power. During the terribly rare moments he takes to relax, Samauth wears a simple robe, gray like everything else he owns.

  • Personality: "Unchecked, life consumes, multiplies, and spreads without end. Without death, life would devour the very stars." Samauth considers his existence to be a necessary balance against the voracious plague that life initially was in his home universe. While at first he hated mortal life, his opinion of it has since cooled down to begrudging tolerance. He believes mortals should be grateful that he spares them the true horrors of everlasting life. Samauth often comes across as dour and joyless. He greatly prefers it when his job is boring, and the mortal souls come in at a reasonable, easy-to-process rate. Every murder or worse, war that unexpectedly spikes his workload places more stress upon the Realm of the Dead and by extension, Samauth himself, renewing his disdain of mortals. Though he usually seems humorless Samauth does have a fondness for a few members of his divine family. Particularly his older sister Nowa, the Goddess of Time and their younger sibling Faizyn, the God of Destiny, as the three of them often worked together to determine when was the right time for a soul to leave the mortal coil.

  • History: In the universe Samauth hails from, the gods were born into existence as powerful souls whose sheer willpower determined everything from their domains to their forms. The god soul that would become Samauth so loved the tranquility of the star-filled heavens that it may have never manifested without what happened next. When Momaac, the Goddess of Life came into being she knew only a great hunger. She sated that hunger by eating the nascent souls around her and fueling the creation of the first mortal life. An endless tide of monsters possessed of the same hunger began gnawing at the heavens.
Furious at the sight of it all, Samauth manifested as the inevitable death of all mortal life. Armored against their scratching claws, he charged into the swarm and every sweep of his sword ended countless spawn of Momaac, freeing their souls to return to the darkness as stars. Facing his sister in direct combat proved to be a different matter entirely, as Life and Death battled to a stalemate. During this heaven-shaking duel, the rest of this cosmos' pantheon were free to manifest themselves and a plan was concocted to end their siblings' fighting. It was proposed that a world be seeded with mortal life born of Momaac, but that these new mortals would each and all be claimed by death in due time. While neither the Goddess of Life nor the God of Death were entirely satisfied, they agreed to a temporary truce.

  • Realm: The Realm of the Dead, known as Valdash to its inhabitants, is a place of processing and essentially recycling of the souls of the dead. Souls enter Valdash through the Uthvar River and go on to be judged and sorted into appropriate afterlives. As wicked acts that spread misery and death result in unexpected and disruptive extra work, Samauth ensures that no evil deed goes unpunished. Punishments can range from mind-numbing, menial tasks that take lifetimes to complete, to ever more elaborate and painful torture depending on the severity of the deceased's crimes. Many of Valdash's low-level and monotonous administrative duties are handled by the former, as a form of cosmic community service.
Those judged to be good people in life, from the heroic to the simply, harmlessly ordinary, experience an afterlife in a form they are comfortable with. Perhaps they are rewarded in a way their culture expects the good to be rewarded. Others might find themselves in a place of peace and serenity. All of this is designed to encourage mortals to live good lives and hopefully discourage them from murdering each other. After a while in Valdash, a mortal soul's distinctiveness will begin to fade, like the features of a statue worn smooth with time. This process readies a soul for reincarnation by cleansing it of its past life.

  • Ownership color: Stony gray primary, light blue secondary, #BBBBBB and #8CFAFF

  • Immortal followers (optional):
    • Uthvar: In Samauth's home universe the Uthvar River was sacred to the desert-dwelling peoples of Galandaar, where they believed their souls were carried to the afterlife on its waters. Samauth created a guardian spirit in the form of a woman made of these waters and clothed in plants of the river banks to do just that. Uthvar so exceeded Samauth's expectations, guiding and protecting the souls of a nation, that the river was connected to all the waters of Valdash. Now, Uthvar watches over and protects all souls on their way to the afterlife.

    • Seers and Overseers: Essential cogs in the bureaucracy of the dead. Seers are among the lowliest spirits employed by the God of Death. Little more than bat-winged eyeballs, invisible and intangible to most mortals, Seers have the job of following and observing mortals, and remembering their deeds. Above them are the Overseers, living statues in the likeness of Samauth. In order to judge a mortal's deeds, the Seer fits itself into the Overseer's empty eye socket, granting it knowledge of everything the Seer knows. Many Overseers will pass judgment upon a soul as it journeys through Valdash, on the way to its final fate.

    • Leaden Knights: These mysterious beings are manifestations of Samauth's warrior will, plucked from his being after his battle with Momaac ended in a draw. These towering figures are winged humanoids, clad in fully enclosed suits of heavy, lead armor. Their true forms beneath, revealed either by damaging the armor or the Knight lifting its visor, is featureless and composed of silvery, fluid metal. This true form, along with the blades of their swords, causes nearby life to wither and die. In truth, they are extremely radioactive, destroying life around them on a microscopic level. The Leaden Knights represent a level of divine intervention just below Samauth himself appearing in-person, thus they are never deployed lightly, considered only for the most grievous threats to the balance of life and death.

  • Other (optional):
    • Ancient civilizations frequently made the mistake of assuming the God of Death would revel in death and demanded sacrifice. Samauth eventually intervened personally to set the record straight and quash these insane death cults.

    • Samauthites, the mortal followers of Samauth, are typically concerned with preaching the tenets of the peaceful lives Samauth would prefer mortals live. They also seek to ensure that proper burial rights are carried out so that the dead may know peace. Their own funeral rights involve cremation in consecrated flame, such that even the bones are reduced to ash. That way, there is nothing for foul necromancy to raise.

    • More militant Samauthites become paladins, dedicating themselves to the destruction of necromancers, the undead, and anyone else that would seek to upset the natural order of death. In battle, these paladins can call upon miracles such as dispelling the forces animating an undead corpse and even conjuring the destructive blue-flame of Samauth's own gaze.

@Mumbo 12: Glad to have you here, friend. Anyway, only thing to note is that given the nature of this setting, Samauth and Valdash wouldn't end up being in charge of death/the afterlife in all the mortal worlds. There would have been many a different 'god/goddess of death and/or the afterlife' that already have dibs on most of the previous mortal worlds before he showed up from his universe. (There's at least thousands if not like, hundreds of thousands of mortal worlds in the background, so he would have quite the work load on his plate if he did anyway.)

Other than that, I've certainly no objection to make here. Samauth is accepted!

  • Name: Rav'nixander; Who Is A City, Who Ends The Stasis, Who Breaks The Cruel Wall
    • Domain: Mortal 'works'; namely arts, sciences and politics.
  • Appearance: A titanic metal "city-body" is what Rav'nixander puts forward as its appearance; a giant construct shaped in vague approximation of the upper torso, arms and helmeted head of a humanoid, made of metal cogs and pieces of fortress-like architecture. In the divine realm, it takes a similar form, though reduced in scale to something just slightly taller than the average human-like god. In actuality this form is a false constructed shell and the true form of the god is the smallest sliver of sky-blue crystal at the heart of the artificial body's core reactor.
  • Personality: On first impression Rav'nixander is as robotic and stalwart as its false body suggests, a simplistic desire for progress and the growth of mortal cities driving it forward. And yet, with some analysis it becomes clear that this isn't quite correct; Rav'nixander is a god who focuses a lot on mortals, trying to help them advance and protect them against the cruelties of other gods. It sees itself as a servant, one empowered by the collective will to act on their behalf and guide progress towards the betterment of the people. It is wary of progress for its own sake and of overexerting natural resources, surprisingly, reasoning that the excesses of doing so would harm mortalkind in the long term.
  • History: Rav'nixander is new, a fresh arrival to the ranks of the gods as a new world springs forth from the fountain. It emerged from an ocean with no obvious signs of an origin, though it claims it was constructed specifically for the purpose of being a god and 'breaking the cruel wall'. It has yet to explain what that wall is.
  • Realm: When Rav'nixander breached the surface of the ocean, its Realm appeared in the world of the gods. This opaque pill-shaped construct of brass contains within it what is either a perfect replica of the reactor core of the city-body or in fact is the core itself transferred to the divine reality.
  • Ownership color: Red (EF 0300) and Dark Grey (515151)

@Pentigan: The 'city body' isn't really explained much, so it's not entirely clear what Rav'nixander looks like; also whether it's supposed to be like actually the size of a city or is like, the size of a model of a city.

If it's the former, it would be kind of difficult and awkward for it to actually interact with the other god characters, unless it makes some kind of robot avatar body/immortal servant to interact on its behalf.

Also you'll probably have to change the colors, I'm afraid. Having one god be gray on light blue, and a different god be light blue on gray could end up easily confusing. If you had been like thirty minutes faster... tongue

  • Name: Arcellex
    • Domain (optional): Eldritch Crystal, Living Ichor, Sacred Fire, Secrets, Tales
  • Appearance: To mortals, it takes a messenger form, a short figure cloaked in shifting blue patterns and shrouded in darkness, commonly known as a Lanternfolk. It carries a lantern that burns with eternal sacred fire. To gods, it takes the form of an amorphous mass of Ichor, inky liquid that can constantly shape new eyes, teeth and tendrils as it undulates. It hides away within the chrome sphere as a hermit crab hides within its shell, squeezing through cracks in what is real.
  • Personality: Arcane. Guarded. Secluded. Enigmatic and esoteric. Obsessed with the use of runes and symbols. Wishes to spread understanding of the three elements to the enlightened. Wishes to spread the Ichor to those capable of understanding it.
  • History: Once, there was a union of the flawless with the flawed. From this, came the first. The first shaped a passage through time and space, and bled ichor into a new world. The Ichor grew and became animated with sacred fire, becoming the Lanternfolk. The Lanternfolk perished and their forms decayed but the ichor did not die, becoming the Shogg. The Shogg, in time, found that which was flawless, and unified with it. The circle has repeated for countless iterations. The circle will repeat for countless more.
  • Realm: The Eisen, an enormous silver sphere with linear, interecting crasks in its surface. Within is the liquid sanctum, a pool of infinite universal pressure that radiates sacred fire throughout the superstructure. It is an engine of creation, inaccessible to those lacking the alien mind of the Shogg-mass. It cannot bend this chrome, as it has not unified with that which is flawless, but it can control the elements within and shape them into matter and energy as needed for acts of magical creation.
  • Ownership color: #0E051B (The color of Ichor)
  • Immortal followers (optional): Though not immortal as individual souls, the physical mass of a Lanternfolk or other ichorous organism lives on eternally unless banished to the Astral. Therefore, all Lanternfolk, Shogg, and Ichorous Fauna are part of the immortal machine and must be banished to be truly destroyed, lest this mass form a Shogg. However, the maturation of (usually several) Lanternfolk corpses into a Shogg can take hundreds or thousands of years, depending on the Shogg's size.
  • Other (optional): One can only become one above all if one unifies with the flawless. The flawless cannot be found here. One can play as one above all if one wins the games. There can be no wars. There can be no quarrels. There can be only games. There can be only pieces. I will bid the pawns move. I will be their teacher and tormentor, their protector and the portent of their failings. I will lay for them lessons and tribulations, rites and demises. I will show them how to bend the sacred fire. To what end, that is their decision. What matters is the fire is spreading. It will soon become life itself. It has always been life itself.

Name: Ilkar, General of Ten Thousand Fronts, King of the Eternal Siege, Commander of Dead Men

Domain: War, Conflict, Strategy, Battle

Appearance: Ilkar's most common garb is that of the black knight, standing imposing in a fearful suit of armor and wielding a massive zweihander which he is often found sharpening as he sits upon his throne. The visor always covers his eyes. Also often seen and sharply contrasting his first look is an immaculate and award-spangled uniform befitting that of any five-star general, hat included.

Accompanying both outfits is the same heavily scarred and always grim human face of Ilkar himself. From only appearances, it can be hard to tell he's a god at all.

Personality: Someone who both utterly understands the art of waging war and simultaneously savors it is a man to fear, indeed. Often cold and always strategic, Ilkar wouldn't send a thousand men on a suicide mission to be massacred... if he didn't think it would gain him an advantage. The optimal state of a world for him is one eternally embroiled in combat- primarily of the physical kind, but he doesn't mind a bit of ideological embroilment without bloodshed. War is fought just as much on podiums as on battlefields, after all.

History: There was a land once that had been at war for as long as anyone could remember. It had gone on for so long that no one could remember what had started the conflict so many centuries before. But the frontline still called, and so still they sent men to fight and die- because despite not knowing what was there to gain or lose they couldn't imagine surrender, not after so long.

During this war, a great general arose. His armies seemed undefeatable, his tactics unceasingly brilliant. "I will be the one to finally win this war for my own side," he thought. "I shall be remembered for all of history."

He nearly achieved his goal. He had arrived at the enemy's final stronghold, and only moments away from finally gaining the advantage and soon after ending the great conflict. But, as many great persons have before, the general downfall came down to merely luck. He was struck in the heart by a stray projectile, and his men, seeing that their general was surely dead, and with him their hope of victory, broke and fled.

The general could see their distraught faces and the enemy's hopeful push back. And in his final moments, he prayed to no one and asked them for one horribly misguided wish: May the war truly last forever, for the general knew nothing but conflict- and who would remember a man of conflict after a thousand years of peace?

And a newly born Ilkar answered.

He ruled that world for uncountably many years, but as had many others, he grew bored, and eventually, he left the place of his birth for the world of the gods. This happened relatively recently, so he's not too familiar with the other inhabitants.

Realm: Ilkar's lair is an anachronistic mix of classical war camp, a medieval fortress, and a modern air base, at its heart a throne/war room where Ilkar spends most of his time in his realm.

Ownership color: Blood Red (#660000)

Immortal followers: The only immortal followers underneath Ilkar are his three generals; Dathrann the noble warrior, Hrakth the Butcher, and finally Kadrin the tactician. Ilkar values all three's input and often takes their council, though there is a hierarchy of trust. Kadrin is the most likely to affect Ilkar's choices, than Hrakth, and finally Dathrann. As you can imagine, Dathrann and Hrakth often bicker.

Other: Ilkar is primarily interested in inciting war and conflict among mortals, not waging it against other gods.

Chug, chug, chug. The machine marches on.

  • Name: Nathan Munsen

    • Domain: Civilization, Humanity

  • Appearance: Howdy.

  • Personality: Nathan is a pretty chill dude, all things considered. Despite being a human who became the god of civilization, he never let his power go to his head. He is content with letting humanity thrive on their own (stepping in when it will lead to deaths non-conducive to development), and is friendly to other species. He's also pretty smart (though somewhat forgetful), though not as good at craft as Gallus, he's adaptable and able to hop through any situation with a smile. He's pretty... blase about humanity's mistakes and shortcomings, however, with a surefire way to get him pissed being messing with humans. Though he's pretty patient, pissing him off will result in calm declarations of violence and the like. He also loves fruits of all kinds.

  • History: Nathan grew up on a small farm, tending it on his own, and he was happy until he began having wanderlust, and became prolific throughout his adventures for helping humans whenever he could, however he could. His endless skills (iffiness at combat notwithstanding) started having the people whisper, thinking he was a being who represented civilization, and he would lead humans to the highest point of civilization. He wasn't exactly sure when he became a god, having forgotten his age, but he was happy to have the power to serve humans.

  • Realm: Simply known as "Civilization", Nathan's realm contains elements of every point in a human civilization, stopping before modern society.

  • Ownership color: Brown (#897a5b) Primary, Mauve (#7A4088) secondary

  • Immortal followers (optional): The Guides of Humanity, a group of humans who help Nathan watch over humanity, each helping humanity in a different aspect, something like a minor god (though they have lesser power than a minor god). Examples include the Guide of Hunting, Guide of History, and more. A lot of them are less known, and Nathan can call upon them if he requires their expertise.

My character plagiarism is going a bit far, methinks.

@Amazing Goob: Looks decent. I'm not entirely sure as I haven't had the time in the past few days to boot up Worldographer and check, but it's possible that color might blend with certain tiles. However, we can simply have you add a secondary color later if it becomes a problem. Ilkar is accepted!

(I'm not going to worry about the secondary work like editing the accepted list just yet as I am very short on time tonight and trying to get other stuff done.)

@Jules-Firenze: Looks a bit simple, but that's not a problem. Like with Ilkar I think that color might blend with certain tiles, and I think with that one it's more likely that I may ask for a second color to be added. You can consider yourself probably accepted, but there is just one part I want to clear up because it seems like part of a sentence is missing, and it's some somewhat crucial information to have in this case.
The Guides of Humanity, a group of humans who help Nathan watch over humanity, each helping humanity in a different aspect, something like a minor god (though they have).

Though they have... What?

Name: Icon. Self-styled god of minor things.

Domain: Deception, strategy, games, retribution.

Appearance: This God has many faces, as their body shifts to fit the observers ideal. Their only constant is that no matter what each version dresses in business wear.

Personality: Icon has a laid back attitude to existence, as they preffer to enjoy it. Though from many perspectives Icon could be considered evil as they lack inhibitions to what they do, unless a God activelly tries to anger them they are nice, Thought the same cannot be said as a mortal, through their actions they have caused tragedies, but similarly they had also contributed to great miracles, as Icon is fickle. One day they may create a spring in the middle of a desert to see the landscape change over time, another they'll be striking the embers for a wild fire. Their only reasoning given being "It is beautiful to see it happen."

History: Icon is an old god, among the ones thay broke Cato solitary livelihood. Commonly assumed to be born of the first spoken lie by gods, Some even believe it was a lie said by Cato. In truth Icon did appear early on. In completely unrelated circumstances, though they never deny any of the theories. It happened over decades during a classical affair of revenge. A kind man wrongfully imprisoned to sate the jealousy of his rivals. Thought unbeknownst to the three the devotion of the man slowly withered to his worst impulses. One day the man was set free, his mind consumed by the newfound devotion for revenge, and following behind him a hungry infant monstrosity, in prison a broken man, once free they began to reform from the shatered pieces, along their path refining the creature into something greater than what it was. By the end the Man his revenge complete and his own darkness cleansed he bid his creature farewell as he left to enjoy the rest of his life in happiness. In that moment of freedom all of the power culminated over years burst out into a brand new God. Though by this time it's God realm existed it wandered around the mortal realm that birthed it refining itself before finally answering the call and joining others in the world of the gods from it's birth place it kept two items keeping the bloodied blade (Now in Icons realm, encased in the bar top.) and a Merchant ship the Man served on, now the Gods immortal follower.

Realm: The realm is shaped into a coffee shop. Stacked full of little things Icon collected from other realms, and games. looking outside the windows one would be greeted by a skyline of miniatures from different mortal worlds. Icon doesn't allow lying in their realm, except if it's part of a game, or information about themself.

Ownership color: Stygian blue, light purple #060935, #cd9df4

Immortal followers: A shapeshifting autonomous vehicle, it was ascended by Icon from the ship the Man served on before his imprisonment. Thought the more popular tale is that icon decieved a god of artifice into making it, after which icon stole it. It can be found in the Realm all it's various forms helping Icon in managing the coffee store.
