How should IP handle the images of upcoming works?:

Just to check - for Video Game pages, do we still treat 'early access' as unreleased for the purposes of this rule? We seem to for other purposes, so I'm assuming it would apply here too?

I'd think so.

Normally, early builds of the game are accompanied by early versions of the logo, so I'd prefer to not thread them if they're "subject to change".

It would have been better if the issue was properly reported and the commentary isn't needed. I reverted the page and sent Wingnut an image changes notifier.

As for images that were changed without discussion for upcoming work pages, I think reverting the image and sending the user an image changes notifier suffices. If the user does it again, they can just be reported on Ask The Tropers.

I've wanted to bring it up there originally, but as pointed out we haven't completely established it'd be the right place so I wasn't sure.

I think either the IP general thread or Ask The Tropers would work. People use both for image changes.

People keep messing with the Mario movie page.

Film.The Flash 2023 got its image changed to the new poster.

So, I’ve been creating image links pages for upcoming works to store and keep track of new posters so we can do the image picking when they come out. Should there be a note on such pages to explain what they are there for?

How's this for a standard edit reason for reverting these changes?

Image reverted as per [[Administrivia/CreatingAWorkPageForAnUpcomingWork Unreleased Works]] policy - see comment on page. No further image changes are permitted until the work is released, and any changes after that need to go via Administrivia/ImagePickin.

Potholes work for edit reasons, though, and I wasn't suggesting this as a comment - we've already updated the standard comment template to cover the policy change?

So I’ve made a thread to pick out an image for a page of an upcoming work that had no images… there were only two posters and I couldn’t decide on one. The mods are letting it slide but how should this be handled in the future?
