The guy shown shooting isn't the character you play as (he's to the right of the image). I just needed a decent shot of the crowd.
As for the trope being villain based, the guy shown is a listed Complete Monster so dw he's definitely a villain lmao.

Pull the current regardless of replacement. OP is an improvement, but yeah it's weird as it looks like the player character is shooting.
The universe is under no obligation to make sense to us.

A reminder that "(in)famous" and "already listed" are not factors in How to Pick a Good Image. It must be obvious to an unfamiliar viewer that the trope is present.

The current doesn't look like an example out of context and it just looks odd to me. Though, if my memory is correct, (EDIT: I think) it is one in-context.
As for the suggestion, I'll give it a weak. Though, if I remember correctly, it definitely is an example in-context.

The current image out of context shows Dimentio just making an explosion while a guy just stands there. Possible replacement image? Arguably one of the most infamous ones in recent gaming history, "No Russian".
