As funny as it would be to have a second trope image that started out on Crappy Image Pickin' (the first one being this suggestion for Men Are Generic, Women Are Special), unfortunately if I'm not mistaken this one's only two-thirds complete. It's missing the initial jerkassery, making this more like Bitch in Sheep's Clothing and/or Took a Level in Jerkass or something along those lines.
Relationship status: you make my xp5_giligz36asgv04a4 xp2_8e1t2kgz0c452The other part of why I suggested it in CIP was that I wasn't sure there was a trope it fit really well - Condescending Compassion was also close.
(In context, Planchett is a greedy and abrasive businessman, he just also treats his town's local traditions as a Thing That Belongs To Him, no one else does them right, hands off)

The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableI don't know if it's used anywhere else, but there's always the famous Batman Beyond scene where Blight wants to know why Batman hates him so much, Batman tells him that Blight kills his dad, and Blight complains about how little that narrows it down.
That's a better fit for But for Me, It Was Tuesday.
It would also be talking heads given how little goes on. It would make a better page quote.
As for the suggestion, I also think it's missing a step
My brain is foggy but isn't there a Perry Bible Fellowship or some other webcomic where someone tries to warm up to a villainous character only for deep down inside they're still a jerk? Feels like a common parody but for the love of me I can't think of anything...
Looking at the page itself, what about a shot of Dr. Cox from Scrubs saying this line?
Dr. Cox: Lady. People aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. Bastard-coated bastards with bastard filling.
That would be better as a page quote.
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableClock is set.
Clock's up; locking for inactivity/lack of consensus.
From Broodhollow.
(I thought it might be Talking Heads, but Crappy Image Picking said I should bring it here.)
