Yeah, I also used to believe in the Stock Animal Diet trope and thought rabbits ate carrots, cat drank milk, mice ate cheese, and so forth. Though I learned at a very young age (from my mom specifically) that giving cats milk is a terrible idea.
Oh, I believe in yesterdayIt depends on the cat I think. Some can take it, but definitely not Burmese cats.
I got it a bit backwards; I thought that because they're seen so often in cartoons, that the Beef Bandage and Hyperventilation Bag didn't happen in real life.
For every low there is a high.
- Because of movies like Brother Bear, The Princess and the Frog, and Tarzan, I grew up believing that animals hear each other speak English (and regardless of species) and that the reason we can't hear animals speak English is because our ears aren't as sharp as theirs, and that if someone were raised by animals they would be able to hear animals speak English. I was pretty anthropocentric and ethnocentric and it didn't occur to me that it doesn't make any sense for animals in the jungles of Africa to be speaking English.
- I believed bullets kill people instantly.
- I believed tasers knock people out.
- I believed all cows are black-and-white or brown-and white, all bulls are either brown or black. Found out that wasn't true when my mom actually drove past a field of cows.
- I believed cows and bulls are separate species.
- I believed that Knockout Gas actually existed, and that only doctors were legally allowed to use it.
- I believed chloroform makes people pass out immediately.
- My smaller dog tears up a lot. I was an adult when I got her, but I thought it was tears of sadness until the vet told me something was wrong with her tear ducts.
