On creating a timeline for TRS changes and the like

I guess we could broaden the renames and splits thread again to cover all TRS decisions. I am not sure how many people actually read the thread as it's a non-stickied FAQ thread.

I think the TRS timeline wouldn't be a bad idea and might be more visible than trope discussion pages. but I'd like to see what it looks like in a sandbox.

Oh wait I already posted here. Oh well. Point still stands.

Using a page to just list all TRS threads instead of using forums may work as well, it's going to be split by year right away probably.

What do you mean by "instead of using forums"? TRS threads are forum threads. They need a forum to be part of. Getting away from using forums for TRS would require massive recoding far, far beyond the scope of what the current devs have time or resources for, possibly being something not worth doing except as part of the mythical 2.0.

They were talking about recording the history in a forum rather than on pages.

MorganWick, you may have missed it since it's on previous page, but we were talking about where to list Cut Tropes, in a list or a specialized thread.

Right, right, I think I got confused because the idea of using a page seems like the idea we started the thread with...

Lists are easier to search, but list entries unlike forum posts don't get automatically a date added.

Well the dates can be added manually.

Looking back at this earlier comment, it would be a lot of work to fill the index, but I'd be willing to do it. The benefits in my opinion outweigh the negatives.

For this kind of job, a page is better than a thread.
