It sucks to be locked out of 100% Completion just because an event the player couldn't see coming without using a guide or playing the game beforehand renders an item or sidequest permanantly inaccessable or in the worst case scenario, a sidequest or achievement that requires internet connection becomes unoptainable once the serves go down since most players can't even obtain the achievement anymore if they buy the game after the server goes down.

4/10. A bit of a cynical trope that's best avoided if possible, but sometimes a necessity.

5/10. A trope that can go horribly wrong if not done right (which is countless times), but usually it's a solid joke, especially in animation.

if done right, i think it can be used to create some wonderfully tragic antagonists.

10/10. It's cool and underrated as heck.

9/10. Definitely provides an interesting challenge in figuring out how to defeat your enemy.

2/10. That's just downright unfair.

4/10, it can work in works meant to be an allegory or to get people to make real life action but otherwise it feels like sequel bait

It can be an exciting way to up the stakes, but it can also be a cheap way to extend a battle if it's used wrong.

2/10. I prefer rewards that are actually even more useful than the items required to achieve them.

7/10. Effective, though it often overlaps with Shut Up, Hannibal!.

2/10. Only thing saving it is that it can be spun around in somewhat interesting ways.

8/10, i think it's great if the reporter can hold themselves in high-stakes situations. can maybe call for a good bit of banter depending on the situation. but if they're just putting themselves in danger for the scoop and is the cause of a bunch of problems then i think that's kinda boring.

7/10. It can be funny, depending on the situation.

5/10. Neutral on it, I don't have any strong opinions about it.
