Netflix Wednesday (Addams Family) live action tv series

A lot of people criticized it. And yet, there was also a sizeable amount of viewers who really liked that aspect of the show. Just look up the fanfics for this series. I imagine a lot of them will be displeased by this.

I mean sure they might be. However, most of those fanfics are about her and Enid by a very wide margin and that was never going to happen especially under Netflix. Most Wenclairs seem okay with this. Even most Wyler shippers I have met are okay though somewhat disappointed and that is understandable. I have no interest in how those who ship Xavier with her feel.

The point I was trying that the general audience didn't care for it and felt it was out of place, so I can understand getting rid of it.

I only hope, taht they save black comedy. It was the best element for me.

I mean Black Comedy is a very important part of The Addams Family. So I dont see them getting rid of it.

Speaking of couples both canon and fandom.

• Honestly, I like Tyler as a love interest, if only because he's a monster, but if it weren't for that, I'd consider him a generic "Nice guy".
• I like Wednesday and Enid's relationship as a friendship, but not as a romance. That is to say, it seems to me the classic case that the fandom is not capable of enjoying a platonic relationship, without thinking that there is romance involved.
• The "Nice guy" whose name I already forgot seems super-boring to me.

• Although honestly the relationship that interests me the most is Yonko and Divina, it seems to me that it would be a good lesbian relationship.

That doesn't really make any sense and considering that their planotic relationships is almost as popular as their potential romantic one, I don't think that is what is actually happening.

There is no way he is still a romantic option. The guy tried to kill Enid and help hurt thing and Eugene. There is no way that Wednesday would still be interested.

Yoko and Divina are actually supposed to be a couple in canon but the scene was cut for some reason.

So since Tyler is a murderer, I prefer Enid as a platonic, and the third one is very boring, so I guess I don't support anyone.

Anyway, Yoko + Divina is My otp.

I dunno, Wednesday is pretty morbid so I can see her having a Dating Catwoman relationship with Tyler going forward.

For now, Wyler is an example of Ship Sinking, maybe that will change in the second season, but who knows.

My thing is Wednesday is also very protective of those she loves. Like I can't see her being with anyone who hurts them no matter how morbid she is.

Plus I kind of find Wyler boring. I have seen the dynamic done far to often. That is just a me thing though.

Honestly, I wouldn't be totally surprised if they eventually decide to go for a Buffy/Spike type dynamic with Wednesday and Tyler.

For those who don't know, Buffy the Vampire Slayer was a popular tv show, and Spike was a villain and a killer. He and Buffy were enemies. But, through convoluted means, Spike gradually reforms, and he and Buffy become friends, and then lovers.

I'm not saying this will definitely happen on Wednesday. I'm just saying, I wouldn't rule it out.

That is what I meant when I said I have seen it done before. Plus stuff like Once Upon a Time. It's a cliche at this point. Clearly I am not the only one tired of it since a femslash ship is more popular which is uncommon.

Plus again my issue isn't the murders but trying to hurt her loved ones. To have Wednesday end up with him after that would betray her character.

Honestly Wednesday not having romance is the way to go in my opinion.

Yes, but keep in mind that ship was popular months before the show even aired, and people really knew what the characters were like. So, I don't think people being tired of cliches was the reason for it.

Maybe, but Buffy also ended up with Spike after he tried to rape her.

To be fair, having a soul or not is a big difference in the Buffyverse.

I don't think it would have continued to be as popular if people weren't tired of the cliche. Like it has over 3000 fics in a few months and is close to 4000, meanwhile Wyler doesn't even crack 1000. I know for a fact that in another work Wyler would have way more. Especially since femslash ships are usually the minority. People being tired of the cliche is the only explanation I can think of beyond many just thinking Wenclair had better chemistry.

I should note that well Spike had no soul which I guess is comparable to being a Hyde. I think that plot has aged badly and it was out of character for them to be canon but that is neither here nor there.

What alternate universe do you live in? both female and male slash ships are the most popular in most fandom.

Not true, ships with deadly enemies are usually common in fandom. (Example: Catradora, Namori.)

Actually it normally goes slash, het, and then femslash as there is a major air of misogyny and lesbianphobia in most fandoms. Like there is a reason most of the top AO3 is het or slash but only like four femslash ships (two canon Clarke/Lexa [which is overshadowed by a non canon het ship] and Catra/Adora, two non canon ones Kara/Lena and Emma/Regina). This is a well known fact that femslash ones are rarely the most popular.

As for those two clearly they have something that Wyler lacks and I just can't figure out what it is.

However that is neither here nor there.

To get back to the show. Who do you guys think the stalker is? Like the most common theory is Enid and I think it could be.

• Ok, that's it, accusing the most fandom of being lesbianphobic, just because there are no more popular slash ships is already going too far.

I'm a bit confused I don't know what your talking about. I wasn't trying to accuse anyone beyond something already noted on this very site on pages like this.

Either way this is going off topic. Yoko would be a cool choice. More screen time for Yoko is always a plus.

Whether or not Wenclair ends up canon remains to be seen. If they do, that's totally fine.

As for Wyler, I think there's a good chance they're gonna at least soften Tyler in his next appearance and probably retcon it so that his bloodlust was the result of doing Thornhill's/Laurel's bidding because it was reflective of her interests, feelings and instructions. In other words, they're probably gonna make it so that he only just got back control of his own agency and independence.

I know it would be cheap to do it, but it would sound like a reasonable direction. While the show is likely gonna lessen the romantic plots in Season 2, Xavier likely being absent is gonna still leave a vacuum. They would either have Tyler take his place or introduce an Expy instead.

Frankly while it wasn't intrusive, I'll admit the Wednesday and Xavier romance was forced. They wanted fans to be won over by it just because they told them they should be.

Changing the topic of discussion, if Tyler does return, I think he'll fill Worf's role in the series.

To the point that every time a new villain appears, everyone will say: "This guy is strong, he beat Tyler easily"

By season four, Tyler will have lost so many times that he'll be treated as a joke.

Emmys time: The show was nominated for 12 awards including Best Comedy Series, Best Actress in a Comedy Series for Jenna Ortega, Directing a Comedy series for Tim Burton, and a bunch of technical stuff.

Congrats to the show. It earned the attention.

My hope is that Season 2 opens with Wednesday and Enid in San Francisco and that leads into their discovering the next big mystery that'll be prevalent throughout the season.

I am thinking either at some point Wednesday will visit the Sinclairs or Enid will visit the Addamses.

My big hope is that they keep Enid's scares.
