Does Not Illustrate: Media Watchdog

Image is not only of poor quality, but it doesn't even represent the trope outside of being a Visual Pun; and one that doesn't even make much sense in the first place since, according to This Image Is Not an Example:

The cartoon used to illustrate the article depicts the PTC (Parents' Television Council), which is not an official media regulator, but an extremist pro-censorship conservative pressure group, i.e. Moral Guardians.

Yeah, aside from the problems that OP mentioned, it also appears to be fairly grainy/pixelated.

I found the original image here.◊ It's basically a PTC propaganda cartoon saying the FCC is asleep on the job, so the PTC has to monitor the airwaves instead. I'm still not sure it's a good image.

I don't think so? The PTC aren't an example, they're just making themselves look like it. Or, more simply, it's just propaganda.

By the way, the image in the link is slightly different from the old one. Makes one wonder what it was used for.

I mean, This Image Is Not an Example exists for a reason. I wouldn't mind keeping it with an upgrade as a Visual Pun.

Normally I'd be okay with going with the non-example clause. But in this case, there's active misinformation here; the dog explicitly represents a group that doesn't count as this trope. I'm not comfortable using it.

This◊ Family Guy screenshot amused me. Does the Painting the Medium aspect and "FCC" on the briefcase make it clear enough?

Current on Censor Box gets the point across fine, and this one shows the people doing the censoring.

Agreed, the overlap is beneficial because it’s obvious censorship.

As for a caption, we could use the lyrics of the "FCC" song from the same episode. I like this one best:

As for the concerns about people not knowing FCC, they can at least recognize that these are some professional guys censoring a scene.
