Uh... You realize we're expanding it, right? That definition is outdated now.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessSo its just a disambiguation/definition page now?
No? Why would you think that? Our Sandbox is just drafting the new description. The examples are staying. It's still a trope.
Did you read the rest of the thread? You should probably read the rest of the thread.

Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessDouble post, but I made a minor tweak to Crazy's description just to make it more clear that the abandoned don't have to be friends or allies. Other than that, I think their version is solid. Anyone ready to swap it in? Or do we need a crowner to determine which version we use?
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessThe last part comparing Line in the Sand and Opt Out still needs work. And Not What I Signed on For should be mentioned as a related trope.
What would you suggest as an update?
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessSandbox.Screw This Im Outta Here
From Opt Out's description, it seems like Screw This, I'm Outta Here may be a subtrope of that:
On the more selfish/pragmatic end of the scale, this character could just want to be normal and use a chance to get away from the craziness once it's presented. [...] They could also just be a Dirty Coward.
On the other hand, "decided he isn't going to take part in the upcoming finale" seems narrower than the new definition of STIOH, in which case they'd be overlapping instead of super-subtrope.
Either way, STIOH would be one of the ways in which a character can Opt Out. So maybe something like:
I thought about leaving "and the narrative is generally making an effort to paint those that do leave in a more favourable light compared to the lone deserter who skulks off in secret or gleefully and randomly ditches their team." on the end there, but since STIOH can be portrayed sympathetically, I thought it might be best to focus on a more constant difference.
I think that line works.
We can also probably cut my attempt from the sandbox, and just focus on updating the one Crazy wrote.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessIf we’re going for a remand I think I came up with one: Danger Ditching. So that way the trope works but it only tailors to one specific event instead of multiple. Though we can keep the STIOH name as like an index or something.
We're not renaming. Again, please read the rest of the thread. The crowner is done and the course has already been decided.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessBump...anyone else want to weigh in on the sandbox?
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI think it's good.
Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)Anyone else?
Honestly, if we swap it in and there's still minor improvements that are needed, those can be taken care of after-the-fact, right? Things don't need to be 100% perfect, and I think the sandbox is pretty solid.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI think it works as-is. If cleanup runs into snags, it can be refined.
We don't even really have to do any cleanup, since 90% of the examples will be valid. We can just remove misuse when we come across it or make a short-term thread to catch the 10% of misuse examples.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessThe sandbox looks good to me.
He/His/Him. No matter who you are, always Be Yourself.Swapped in the compare/contrast bit I suggested.
And swapped the sandbox into the article. Anything else to do?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI'm good with calling it done.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportOK, calling it done then.

Crown Description:
What would be the best way to fix the page?
I wrote something similar to the intro of Kick The Son Of A Bitch for two of the most misused definitions, Villain: Exit, Stage Left and Not What I Signed on For. Its below and others can grade it.
Compare: * Villain: Exit, Stage Left: General Drake having lost his sword in person combat by the hero, Alice, and seeing his soldiers are at a disadvantage against Alice’s friend Bob, withdraws his troops and orders a tactical retreat. As Drale rides away on his horse, he promises Alice and Bob, they haven't seen the last of him, as he rides away.
Basically Screw This, I'm Outta Here is always done by a Dirty Coward, whilst Villain: Exit, Stage Left is Know When to Fold 'Em and is often done by intelligent characters who may also be brave and valiant or even a Blood Knight. Not What I Signed Up For is done for moral reasons rather then cowardice.
